[Pretend this is the same Ed, so I can have icons that work. He doesn't know much about how things work here, in fact he's not even aware that battling them is a thing - in Purgatorium most people just caught them as pets. They were pretty easy to once lured in with treats of some kind.]

Nah, at least- not how we were shown. If you wanted one where I came from, you were supposed to lure it out - with snacks.

[Sure, they didn't have berries or any typical pokemon world stuff usually, but food was always an option and most pokemon can eat just about anything. He pulls out a berry, holding it up for her to take.]

Toss these close enough and they'll start coming your way, I'm sure of it.

No problem, the idea - at least the way it was explained to us - was that you want them to trust you, so an offer of peace gets better results.
