[Video - 001 | Action - New Bark Town]
[Network]
[Cloud's frowning softly when he appears on the network, attempting to figure out this strange device he found on his person upon waking up. It's similar enough to the phones he's used for him to at least get it turned on but it's still strange enough that it has him unsettled.
As does the strange sword...thing.]
...Tifa? Barrett? If either of you are seeing this, I would appreciate an explanation.
[Because this had to be some sort of strange joke.
The camera gets jarred around as Cloud suddenly side steps and when it does focus again anyone watching can now see a Honedge as well, one that the blonde is eyeing rather warily.]
For where I am and what that is.
[Because he really wasn't keen on believing anything that man had said. His first thought had been 'fiend!' but he'd seen a lot of fiends before. Fought a lot of fiends. This? This was just...yeah. No. Whatever it was he didn't want it.]
I also want to know where my motorcycle is. I'd like to get back to Edge sometime today.
[Action]
[Shutting off his new little device--Pokégear?--Cloud tucked it away into one of his many pockets, the backpack he'd been given slung absently over his shoulder. Beside him, the Honedge he'd received from the professor was peering at him in a wary yet curious manner, sizing the blonde up almost.
At least that's what it seemed like to Cloud.
The blonde frowned before making himself look away, glancing around the town itself before he focused on the road leading out. He couldn't be on a different continent, that would be just a little too over the top for whatever sort of prank this was.
Had to be.
With that in mind the blonde started walking and made it a few feet before he paused and glanced over his shoulder. The Honedge was trailing behind him and immediately stopped when he did, an odd sound coming from the creature that had Cloud's frown deepening.]
Find someone else to bother.
[Because he really didn't want anything to do with this. He had way too much stuff to be working on back in Edge.]

[ And he had to help sometimes - making sure they were fit for purpose. Though, this is the first time he's mentioned this sort of thing on the network - he has gotten used to the idea that he probably isn't being monitored by people of his world. But still... ]
...I could not imagine a city like that. [ he doesn't know much about the imperial city of archades okay his cities are tiny compared to ffvii ]
video;
There's something about this man that Cloud finds intriguing. He's knowledgeable in a way that screams soldier to Cloud--not the SOLDIERs he's use to but definitely a man that's seen his fair share of fighting.]
What were your cities like?
video;
You could walk from one side to the other in but a few hours - and if you could not afford the time, there were Teleport Stones to speed your movements.
[ A pause. You can just hear the nostalgia in his voice. And tiredness, as he closes his eyes. ]
...I lived in the Royal City of Rabanastre, in a grand desert. Small camps littered the distance between other towns - there was not much room for other cities and towns in Dalmasca.
video;
It sounds like a pretty peaceful place. A lot calmer than the hustle and bustle of Edge--where I live back home. [It's said thoughtfully, Cloud a little less closed off now as he leans back on the bench.] Reminds me of the town I grew up in.
[His lips start to quirk into a smile before it's gone and he's giving the other a curious look.]
You said it was a royal city?
video;
[ It really was - even if the peace had recently been shattered, there was no reason to burden another. But he seems to be quite relaxed as well - eyes back open, sitting back gently on the chair in his inn room, looking to the 'gear he was still getting used to. ]
Yes. The Capital of Dalmasca - under the rule of Queen Ashelia. Though our Kingdom is small, it is proud.
[ ...he says, though it's a lie. Ashe is still on the run. She is not to be found - well, that is what he hoped, even after what his brother had told him. But what is a small white lie, if it is his desire for the future? For what she could do? He was sure she would be Princess - and so Queen - with or without him. ]
video;
[Things had gotten better and Rufus had definitely paid his dues--they all had. But there was still so much that Cloud would never be able to forgive ShinRa for. So many lives ruined; so many lives ended too early.
Glancing at his honedge, the blonde feels a little less hostile towards it now that he's more relaxed and the creature seems to pick up on it, making a pleased sound at him as it bumps against his leg.]
It sounds like a really nice place. I hope you're able to get back there.
video;
[ They did not sound like any ruler he had heard - a company ruling, though? That sounded so... strange. He decided, however, not to comment on the second thing. Would it seem odd if he didn't want to return? ]
video;
They were in control of everything. Resources, the military, governments--some places were free from their influence but it was rare.
[And here comes the frown creeping onto his face.]
They were killing the planet and didn't seem to care.
