[Cloud's frowning softly when he appears on the network, attempting to figure out this strange device he found on his person upon waking up. It's similar enough to the phones he's used for him to at least get it turned on but it's still strange enough that it has him unsettled.

As does the strange sword...thing.]

...Tifa? Barrett? If either of you are seeing this, I would appreciate an explanation.

[Because this had to be some sort of strange joke.

The camera gets jarred around as Cloud suddenly side steps and when it does focus again anyone watching can now see a Honedge as well, one that the blonde is eyeing rather warily.]

For where I am and what that is.

[Because he really wasn't keen on believing anything that man had said. His first thought had been 'fiend!' but he'd seen a lot of fiends before. Fought a lot of fiends. This? This was just...yeah. No. Whatever it was he didn't want it.]

I also want to know where my motorcycle is. I'd like to get back to Edge sometime today.

[Shutting off his new little device--Pokégear?--Cloud tucked it away into one of his many pockets, the backpack he'd been given slung absently over his shoulder. Beside him, the Honedge he'd received from the professor was peering at him in a wary yet curious manner, sizing the blonde up almost.

At least that's what it seemed like to Cloud.

The blonde frowned before making himself look away, glancing around the town itself before he focused on the road leading out. He couldn't be on a different continent, that would be just a little too over the top for whatever sort of prank this was.

Had to be.

With that in mind the blonde started walking and made it a few feet before he paused and glanced over his shoulder. The Honedge was trailing behind him and immediately stopped when he did, an odd sound coming from the creature that had Cloud's frown deepening.]

Find someone else to bother.

[Because he really didn't want anything to do with this. He had way too much stuff to be working on back in Edge.]

[That's kind of intimidating, but she will persevere! No pokemon left behind, even weird sword ghosts! She steps with them as well, following]

Are you sure? I mean, everyone was given a pokemon when they got here... and it seems pretty attached to you!

[Okay maybe he should rephrase that, because she was right. It had been given to him.]

I didn't ask for it.

[He had a lot to worry about right now since he was, you know, in a weird place and apparently stuck. Taking care of a weird sword wasn't really on his agenda.]

Oh! Well... I mean, none of us really asked for it, but it seems like this is going to be our best chance right now! They're your partner who's gonna help you out and, well, trust me - you probably won't get very far without them!

[Cloud frowns a bit, glancing at the sword.]

I'm guessing even if I tried to leave it behind it would just follow me, wouldn't it?

[Since it seemed so persistent as it was.]

...Am I suppose to get more of them or something?

It might! Or probably look really sad at least.

[Look, she has no idea how persistent this sword thing might be.]

Um, basically? It sounds like most accomplished trainers have teams of them.

[Cloud's quiet for a moment as he considers what she's telling him, staring at the Honedge before letting out a sigh.]

Alright, fine. I'll keep it with me.

[The sword immediately let's out a happy noise--though it's hard to tell if it's happy because man is that weird--and Cloud just shakes his head.]

This place is very..strange.

[Animals noises were one thing, but it was interesting how a sword could manage to sound happy... yet somehow it works.]

Yeah, it really is, right? Like, the music, no Quirks, all the pokemon around... and the people native here really don't seem to understand that we all came from somewhere else!

...So they just think we're suppose to be here?

[Now that was the strangest thing he's heard yet. How could they all just be okay with it?]

Yeah, basically - they all think we're kids setting out on our "journey" or something for the first time!

[Which... how did that even work for the adults?]

I guess it's... how they're programmed? Some people are saying that this is basically a video game.

[At least Ochako is a kid so it's not too weird...]

I mean, that's how Mom-lady acts anyway. I think everyone else treats us as the right age.

[Okay this is just getting weirder and weirder by the moment. Cloud holds up a hand to get her to stop talking, looking one part confused and one part annoyed.]

Back up. What do you mean this is basically a video game? That's not possible.

I'm not really sure, but that's what a couple people have said! I haven't really seen much proof tough... I mean, other than the music?

[He's honestly been trying to tune the music out but her mention of it has him realizing that yes, yes it is there and it's definitely not going away.]

So no one actually has any idea what's going on here.

It's no problem! I got a lot of help from people when I first got here too, so. We're all in the same situation, right?

Yeah, I guess we are. [Which meant he was going to have to suck it up and be a bit more social than normal.]

I was told I should head to Cherrygrove...i'm assuming if I just keep on this road I'll find it?

Yeah - and someone finally took care of the tough pokemon that was causing trouble, so there shouldn't be any that are too dangerous right now. Though you still want to be careful and use your own pokemon! If you had any kinds of special powers back home, well, they don't work here.

Uh, I have no idea what that is, but unless it's some kind of machine, probably not!

It's how we're able to use magic back home.

[Okay, now he's a little upset.]

So I have no choice but to rely on these things?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure magic's right out!

[She nods, but she's a lot less upset]

That's why I didn't want you running off without your partner! You might be used to fighting on your own, but some of the wild pokemon would totally overpower you if you don't have your own to protect you!

...in theory, anyway. The ones right outside town aren't that tough, generally.
