So at what point is it okay to excuse something just because it's not "as bad" as something you might have experienced back in the world you come from?

Bad is bad, isn't it? Evil is evil?

Or are there some things that are okay to turn a blind eye to?

Depends on how you explain it.

Make it like science. You got evidence, you got a theory. You put the theory into play and BAM! either conclusive or inconclusive evidence that you were right.

Bitch this is science not wordplay.

If you've got facts and reasoning on your side then it falls to them to prove you wrong.

How else are you supposed to know you're right conclusively? As much as I love going with my gut it doesn't always make sense.
