Tried listening to hip hop two days back, right until my sleeping brain decided remixes were the way to go. Maybe I'd have better luck with classical or techno.

Yeah, I remember when I was younger and everybody was listening to that fuckin' Lady Gaga song 'Bad Romance' and my brain got it all mashed up with 'Witch Doctor'.

[Nothing like your brain grabbing an overplayed song you don't necessarily like so much and then making it nonsense like 'Rah rah ah-ah-ah ro mah ro-mah-mah ting tang walla walla bing bang' and just sticking that shit on repeat on the mental playlist.]

Don't know the specific songs, but I get the feeling that sucked. Both the endless repeat and the mash up.
Sometimes it feels like the local radios have even less variety than they did back home. I never imagined that could be possible.

Is it truly so bad? I find the tune quite jaunty and fitting!
Then again, I've really only been out towards Olivine in the summertime. It's the Goldenrod tune that can get grating for me.

It's not so bad when I'm in Olivine, walking on the beach.
It's VERY bad when I'm on a late night walk in Goldenrod and I nearly step on a Meowth's tail because the damn tune was distracting me.

I think I'm going to try moving away for a while and deliberately seek something to replace it. Kanto has potential.

That would depend on the nature of the banishment. Permanently replacing Olivine's music would be worth more than trying to get a commercial jingle stuck in my head instead.

All you need to do is break the rhythm. Either by focusing on another song that you know by heart that you can sing or perhaps something as mundane as say...chewing gum to a different beat.
