Text Post Update from The Garrison Trio

[As promised, Pidge is putting up pictures of the little road trip that she, Lance, and Hunk have embarked on. It's a later update than she'd initially planned it to be, but better late than never, right? And in the interest of getting the news out to all of their friends (and Lance's friends, she doesn't even know who else that might include), Pidge makes them all available to the public.

There are photos as well as videos, and they're all absolutely ridiculous.

Challenging each other to a hot sauce competition (which Pidge utterly lost, face red and tears in her eyes).

There's a lot. Over the last several weeks, these three have been up to complete and utter shenanigans. But, as their friends can no doubt tell from the pictures, they're doing well and having a great time.

Dude, you guys have no idea what kind of alien weirdness happened to him lately. He has an arm that's powered by Allura's tiara. His.. ghost.. spirit.. brain.. lived inside the black lion for like a year.

I'm just saying, if anyone could eye twitch their way into a coma it's this dude.

You have to actually have shame for that to work. [That's right, Lance. She's snickering at you.]

I dunno, Hunk. I think he'll pull through somehow. I mean he hasn't lived through the being inside the black lion yet, but that doesn't mean he's not resilient enough.

[Lance turns to Hunk, utterly and completely confused, so much so that Pidge's insult flies right by him.]

He has what? He did what?

[Oh, great. Stuck in the Past Lance is lost again.]

[Aw, crap.]

Uh. It's kind of super complicated, but basically Shiro died a little bit when we fought Zarkon but his soul got stuck inside the black lion so when the Galra replaced him with a cloned body he just kinda kept floating around in there until he went crazy and tried to kill us all but Keith stopped him and then the real Shiro took over the clone's body.

[Have an overly enthusiastic smile -- there's no awkward here this is fine.] Anyone want some lao lao?

[Pidge sighs and reaches over to give Hunk a pat on the shoulder. Welp. He tried.]

It's okay, Hunk. I kind of told Lance about what happened to Shiro a little, but I didn't get around to the black lion part.

[At which point she gives Lance an apologetic look, because she knows being behind everyone has been bothering him. And it wasn't like she'd been purposefully keeping him in the dark. More like she'd been kind of overwhelmed in the moment and hadn't gotten to that part.

But it's... pretty much exactly like he just said. After Shiro first disappeared, what turned out to be a clone found us and rejoined us. We didn't know he was a clone until he went nuts on us, but then Allura did some space magic thing and took the real Shiro's consciousness and inserted it into the clone's body.

..Crazy, right? [Tada?]

[Hunk, you are just terrible at breaking bad news. Luckily, the worst part of it Lance already knows so he isn't upset and shocked like he was when Pidge told him. He is confused, though, because souls stuck in robot lions and murderous clones and tiara battery arms? Right. Lance is going to need a moment to let all that sink in.]

What the hell are you guys doing when I'm not around?

[Like past him babysitting future help would actually help anything.]

You were totally there, promise! It was... super weird. Keith had to deal with the weirdest parts though.

Uhh. I wonder if there's other stuff you should know. Do you want to know other stuff?

[Because Shiro sure didn't.]

[pidge_out]

[Pidge pipes in at first with-] Yeah, you were there the whole time with us. [-but then trails off to just nod along at what he says.

And then-- Well. Hunk raises a good point. So she turns an expectant look on Lance.] It's totally fine if you don't, and-- I mean, Hunk knows more than I do. He's from further along than me.

[spacebaloney]

[Lance glances back and forth between Hunk and Pidge, trying to gauge their expressions on how to proceed. This could be bad or good. If Shiro died only to come back to life, what else happen? Who else died and didn't get that lucky?

He realizes that he doesn't want to know. Not anymore than he already does. He worries enough on how bad he messed up to get everybody caught up in trouble now, he doesn't need to worry about how bad he might possibly mess up in the future too.]

Just... tell me, is my family okay? Yes or no me, that's all I want to know.

[That's his biggest concern out of anything else. No need to add anxiety to his homesickness.]
