GHOST TRICK PART ONE: Festival Log!

Who: Everyone!
Where: Either Ecruteak City or Lavender Town; please mark your toplevel comments accordingly!
When: August 13th-15th
Summary: Celebrate O-bon at a festival near you! For details, see the infopost.
Rating: Will vary from thread to thread. Warn for common triggers if something comes up.
Log:

The streets are lined with NPC-run stalls for food, games, and the assorted tchotchkes of every summer festival you’ve ever seen in your animes! There’s Goldeen Scoop, heaping cones of Swirlix Candy, Test Your STRENGTH (there are two different machines for people and Pokémon; HM04 not required); basically, if you can think of it, it’s there. There will also be a yukata rental stall if you want to go full hog on the cultural side of things. Ecruteak boasts a small stage where the Kimono Girls give a short performance once every two hours; the festivities in Lavender Town are a little quieter, but they also have Haunter-shaped ice cream treats. When you lick them, they Lick you!

On the last evening (August 15th) of the festival in either location, there will be a large bonfire and traditional bon-odori dance in which everyone is welcome to participate. In Lavender Town only, they also set paper lamps afloat in the water past the cliffs.

The closer you get to midnight on the last night of the festival, the more ghosts pop up.

Again, please say which city your character's in and note what dates/times they're there in the header of or within your top--level comment to avoid confusion. Play nice and have fun!

[ We'll keep it backed away, then. ]

It's a surprisingly complex game, as basic as it is. I took a psychology class once where we got into breaking it down once? So I'd like to think I'm pretty good at it.

I'll accept challenges, though.

[Challenges? Oh, geeze.]

I'm not sure I would be, ah...that worthy of an opponent.
crimsonchin: so I despise (But I'm terrible with kanji)

Oh, come now, it's just rock-paper-scissors. A child can play it...

[ She sounds a little too eager, for someone normally so withdrawn... ]
samsa: (Nervous □ /hollow laughter)

[That's for sure...but it also seems harmless enough, even though Rikki's got a resting face much like she just ate a lemon or something.]

Well...I guess one game wouldn't hurt anything. I don't really have anything to trade you if you win, though.

[ Seems like a good Pokemon for Asuka, honestly. ]

It's fine. You don't have to bet anything.

[ She just likes showing off... ]

Okay, on three. One, two, three!

[ Asuka's move of choice is paper; it's the best option against a rookie. Normally novices, especially male novices, jump to rock; something about the fortitude of it, the aggressiveness of a clenched fist. Usually you associate rock with a weapon, so, it's the typical move of choice for a newcomer.

But, then, Kaneki seems like a passive person. He might go for paper himself; paper is a bit of a subtle strategy. An open palm, an extended hand...it's a move that seems like it might fit the sheepish opponent before her. Both rock and paper seem fairly likely coming from an opponent like this, so, at worst, she'll tie here. ]

[Kaneki would recommend Zangoose to anyone. They're just a bit...touchy.

As for Kaneki? WELL...he does end up going for paper, actually. Not for any real reason, not that he's aware of, but on a subconscious level it seems as if Asuka has his type already figured out.]

Ah. We tied.
