GHOST TRICK PART ONE: Festival Log!

Log:

The streets are lined with NPC-run stalls for food, games, and the assorted tchotchkes of every summer festival you’ve ever seen in your animes! There’s Goldeen Scoop, heaping cones of Swirlix Candy, Test Your STRENGTH (there are two different machines for people and Pokémon; HM04 not required); basically, if you can think of it, it’s there. There will also be a yukata rental stall if you want to go full hog on the cultural side of things. Ecruteak boasts a small stage where the Kimono Girls give a short performance once every two hours; the festivities in Lavender Town are a little quieter, but they also have Haunter-shaped ice cream treats. When you lick them, they Lick you!

On the last evening (August 15th) of the festival in either location, there will be a large bonfire and traditional bon-odori dance in which everyone is welcome to participate. In Lavender Town only, they also set paper lamps afloat in the water past the cliffs.

The closer you get to midnight on the last night of the festival, the more ghosts pop up.

One: Getting stuff without paying for it would be great.
Two: He remembers that time Rohan Kishibe bullied a six-year-old.

As if. I just happen to be pretty damn good at the game. And I kind of have the guy on lockdown right now. ...He doesn't know it, but he's playing with a pattern, and I just happened to figure it out, is all.

[Josuke actually believes her - not only is he exactly the type to cheat like this, he smirks and gives a slight nod as if to thank her for the tip - but figures it's better to keep it quiet.]

[ For a while, that's all she says. Either that's all she has to say about it, or she's choosing her next words carefully.

Eventually, though, she'll speak up. ]

It's...hitting weird places for me. I haven't seen a festival like this in quite some time. But it's not necessarily a good nostalgia. It feels off, more than anything.

You mean aside from it also being like half about the whole Pokemon thing?

[That's kind of a deal Josuke isn't quite used to yet - it's only been like two months - and he figures Asuka has been around in this world for longer, even if introductions haven't been had.]

Nah, I've sort of grown used to that after nearly half a year. They kind of just blend in with the scenery at this point.

[ She grazes over one of the candy apples in her hand with her teeth... ]

But the ghosts are fitting, because it feels like the whole thing is like a goddamn phantom.
