GHOST TRICK PART ONE: Festival Log!

Log:

The streets are lined with NPC-run stalls for food, games, and the assorted tchotchkes of every summer festival you’ve ever seen in your animes! There’s Goldeen Scoop, heaping cones of Swirlix Candy, Test Your STRENGTH (there are two different machines for people and Pokémon; HM04 not required); basically, if you can think of it, it’s there. There will also be a yukata rental stall if you want to go full hog on the cultural side of things. Ecruteak boasts a small stage where the Kimono Girls give a short performance once every two hours; the festivities in Lavender Town are a little quieter, but they also have Haunter-shaped ice cream treats. When you lick them, they Lick you!

On the last evening (August 15th) of the festival in either location, there will be a large bonfire and traditional bon-odori dance in which everyone is welcome to participate. In Lavender Town only, they also set paper lamps afloat in the water past the cliffs.

The closer you get to midnight on the last night of the festival, the more ghosts pop up.

Everyone's got a different pace. For the longest time I didn't think Beryl ever wanted to evolve at all, and then out of nowhere I wake up to his fresh new ribbons in my face!

The Dark and Psychic ones are based on happiness, right?

She always looks happy, but it makes me wonder if there's something I'm just not doing right.

[Al nods with a sympathetic smile, giving Cheryl a long, considering look before he replies.]

You know, before I disappeared I had a Bulbasaur I'd inherited. Really stubborn little girl. She liked me, for sure, but she never did anything she hadn't decided for herself that she wanted. She was plenty high level enough to have evolved twice, but she never did.

[He pats Heather on her shoulder, and from atop Al's head Jill lets out a quiet mew.]

Whatever is keeping her from evolving, I doubt it's anything you've done.

_{[She laughs a little bit, and even if she'd retained her casual look even while confessing her insecurity, Al's words actually are comforting and it shows.]}

Heh, awh. I guess you're right.

_{[But then, because she can't let anything get by without keeping up the obnoxious big sister facade, she slips around to Al's other side so that she can ruffle his hair with the non-Cheryl hand.]}

[Jill quickly moves from her perch down to AL's shoulder, and he laughs and playfully pushes Heather's hand away again.]
