GHOST TRICK PART ONE: Festival Log!

Log:

The streets are lined with NPC-run stalls for food, games, and the assorted tchotchkes of every summer festival you’ve ever seen in your animes! There’s Goldeen Scoop, heaping cones of Swirlix Candy, Test Your STRENGTH (there are two different machines for people and Pokémon; HM04 not required); basically, if you can think of it, it’s there. There will also be a yukata rental stall if you want to go full hog on the cultural side of things. Ecruteak boasts a small stage where the Kimono Girls give a short performance once every two hours; the festivities in Lavender Town are a little quieter, but they also have Haunter-shaped ice cream treats. When you lick them, they Lick you!

On the last evening (August 15th) of the festival in either location, there will be a large bonfire and traditional bon-odori dance in which everyone is welcome to participate. In Lavender Town only, they also set paper lamps afloat in the water past the cliffs.

The closer you get to midnight on the last night of the festival, the more ghosts pop up.

[How do you- Seems Dipper's Eevee has an idea. Tyrone is just going to jump up enough to hang awkwardly on the rim. Time to see if batting at the water will catch any of the fishes attention.]

I guess he's on it.

[It earns a laugh from the older guy. Watching the Eevee splash around -- it actually gets the Aron's attention, and he scoots over to butt his head up under Tyrone's back feet. Here let him help!]

Both of them. Nice teamwork, guys.

[Now to catch this Goldeen while it's distracted...]

[Yay! This makes things a lot easier for Tyrone and now he's happily splashing away.]

I guess those two really like each other.

[Pokemon can make friends! That's something Dipper needs to test out with other Pokemon.]

[Aron chirps happily, shuffling his back feet. Aw yes he's helping!!]

I'm not surprised. Your Tyrone is pretty friendly.

[Meanwhile... it takes some doing, but apparently the splashing works, because:] Head's up!

[Goldeen delivery, Dipper!]

[Maybe a little too much! Tyrone gets dragged into the water by one of the Goldeen he's lured, falling in face first. Noooo....]

Yeah, he's- TYRONE!

[Oh no! Eevee drowning, sudden fish, WHAT'S DIPPER SUPPOSED TO DO?!

Get knocked down by Goldeen and have a rather soaked Eevee stare at his trainer being used as a trampoline by a fish on the ground.]

...... I hate my life.

Careful-!

[Everything happens way too fast. There's a floundering Eeevee, a panicked, squeaking Aron, Dipper yelling, and one space father trying to fish out the poor pokemon, no pun intended.]

[Except there's a fish on top of Dipper, now.]

[So while he reaches in to try and pull Tyrone out of the tank, Kuro the Aron scuttles forward to do his best to push the fish off their little buddy.]

[Dipper is just so done with life right now. The Goldeen does flop off of him and splashes awkwardly on the ground. With a sigh Dipper sits up and uses a Pokeball to catch the darn thing. Kuro gets a pat on the head for helping.]

Thanks. At least it didn't stab me with its horn.

[While his trainer recovers, Tyrone just looks like a wet mess. Oh god why did this Eevee have to try and act as a decoy. Bad decision is bad decision.]

[Kuro squeaks happily at the pat, before ambling back to his trainer, who gingerly sets the dripping Eevee down beside Dipper.]

Shake it off, little guy. You're the hero here.

[He holds out his hand to help the poor Dipper off the ground.]
