Hisuian + Summer Catchall [Open]
Who: Zack Fair + Various
Where: Random places in Hisui/ Johto
When: till September
Summary: Catch all for the rest of the hisui event starting from part 2 and will encompass the rest of summer just to keep things organized for now.
Rating: Teen and under but will make note if changes
Log:
Arrival/ Obsidian Fieldlands at night
It's been a wild ride since he'd arrived in this new region. At first he had felt at home in Johto and even had some buddies there like Grim and Brodoof. He was getting used to that world when he was suddenly thrown into the past. Sure, Zack had understood What Cara Liss had said but that didn't mean he liked it. He was just starting out his second chance at life and now here he was in another new world.
While he did miss his phone and other modern technology and goods {his hair gel really was sorely missed} he didn't mind being out in the wild. He'd grown up with almost nothing in the backwaters of Gongaga so this was more nostalgic of home then the other place had been.
Zack missed his buddies but luckily he had gained another buddy here. Doggo the growlithe was his buddy and he reminded Zack a lot of brodoof. Doggo would often lay at his feet or cuddle him when he was feeling sad. It was like Doggo could read his thoughts, though Zack wasn't sure if that was real or not. The jury was out on that one still. Together they had adventured around the Obsidian fieldlands, meeting other trainers every so often but usually camping out under the stars together. That was where they were currently found, huddled up under a tree. Doggo was sleeping but Zack was up and stargazing, kept up by thoughts of home and of the previous world.
Cobalt Coastlands
The coastlands were a place Zack really enjoyed. It wasn't too hot but when you laid on the beach for awhile it was warm enough to warrant a nice soak in the waters. At least he had thought that until he realized how many pokemon were in the waters. He had stopped venturing deep into the ocean after learning what lived there the hard way. Doggo wasn't even able to help him in water at all, the poor boy always waited for him patiently on the beach like the good boy he was.
Currently Zack was lounging on the beach, his growlithe laying besides him but on alert in case any other pokemon came too close and tried to bother them. He'd taken his survey corps uniform top off and was topless, only keeping the pants on for now. Doggo's tail started to wag a bit but he stayed where he was, seeing a trainer in the distance. Zack sat up, his back covered in sand and stretched a bit before getting up to survey the area around them.
Alabaster Icelands
It was cold, but with Doggo at his side he had a small furball who always generated heat. The two had trekked into the snowy fields exploring. Really it was just Zack walking in the snow with Doggo in his arms the whole time to keep them both warmer. Doggo was enjoying this and had his tongue out the entire time.
As they had explored, the duo came up upon a flock of bird pokemon that Zack obviously didn't recognize. It looked like some of the bigger birds were picking on a smaller one. Doggo whined at the scene and the two rushed in. Some of the birds (rufflets) flew off in surprise but the one that remained seemed injured in it's wing. Doggo used a fire fang on the rufflets that remained while Zack grabbed the injured Rufflet. "Hey little one, you doing okay? I'll get you some help soon I promise."
A cold wind blew as Zack brought the bird closer to his chest. He whistled for Doggo to leave the others and follow him as they ran into the wild to find any other trainer who might have some kind of healing on them.

He smiles and only now realizes what the other is wearing and an eyebrow raises.
"Aren't you hot in that?"
no subject
"Not really."
Or more like, Geddoe's just kind of gotten used to keeping himself covered. People don't question the gloves so much if they fit in with the rest of what he's wearing.
Good luck getting more of an answer on that subject out of him, though!
no subject
Zack shrugs a little, unsure what else to say for a moment. It gets a little awkwardly quiet between them and he starts to fidget, never good at these things.
"So...would you like a buddy to walk the beach? I don't really have anything to do and it's nice to not always be alone."
no subject
"....."
Geddoe's first instinct is, naturally, to simply say 'no thanks' and leave it at that. But the guy--who was admittedly pretty new--was obviously feeling a bit lonely. And Geddoe had just admitted he had nothing better to do, hadn't he? Damn. No good way out of it, then.
"Why not just head back to the camp?"
Look, it's not an outright refusal, at least.
no subject
"I could but it's a really nice day to be stuck at camp."
He frowns a little and rubs at his head, not wanting to impose. If Geddoe doesn't want to come with him to nowhere in particular he won't bother him.
"I might just head over to that old ship and explore a little" He says pointing up ahead the coast. "You're welcome to join if you'd like."
no subject
Unfortunately for Geddoe, the hesitation that causes is enough for Bolt to slide down off his shoulder and to the ground, bounding after the stranger.
"Bolt!"
Dammit.
no subject
"You gotta stay with your trainer little guy. There are some tough pokemon here and no one wants to see you get hurt. Ya get it?" He wasn't scolding Pichu but he was hoping his words came across well.
no subject
Geddoe, for his part, just looks a bit exasperated. Presumably antics like this have been a regular occurrence.
"Looks like Bolt wants to stick around."
Sure, Geddoe could probably grab the Pichu or call it back to its ball... But that would risk the other guy possibly getting a nasty shock in the process. Geddoe might have a high tolerance for such things, but most people don't, in his experience.
no subject
"Well I guess we are stuck with eachother until bolt is bored with me." He's rubbing the back of his head in embarasssment and looking towards the sand. He's a little happy he doesn't have to be alone though. "So Geddoe, where do you come from? You don't look familiar so I'm sure it's a different world."
no subject
In any case, Geddoe raises an eyebrow at the question.
"You know most the people from your world on sight?"
He knows that's not what Zack meant. But he can't just let the implication slide. Welcome to Geddoe's dry sense of humor.
no subject
He knows his hometown isn't well known but if Geddoe doesn't know Midgar then for sure he isn't from the same place he is.
no subject
"Never heard of them," he says, shaking his head. "I'm from the Grasslands, which borders the Holy Harmonian Empire."
Speaking of bug names, given the empire's literal centuries of expansionist policies and war, there's no way anyone from his world wouldn't know the name. Well, unless they were from even further back in time than its founding, but that might as well be another world anyway.
For that matter, Geddoe's claim of where he's from is only a technicality at best... But since his actual homeland was destroyed years ago, it's close enough for now.
no subject
He starts to walk, wanting to walk the beach instead of idly standing by and talking, hoping Geddoe will follow and continue the conversation.
no subject
"Depends on where you go, but nothing where I'm from is like the stuff they've got everywhere in Johto."
He's from a pretty low tech world, in other words.
no subject
Zack is still carrying Doggo as they walk but reaches up to pet bolt whose still riding his shoulder.
no subject
"Yeah."
Besides the whole Pokemon thing, of course, though dangerous wild monsters aren't an unfamiliar hazard, either.
no subject
"So um...nice weather?"
His smile is a bit more reserved now, unsure of what to do so he keeps walking ahead.
no subject
"If you want to talk that much, you can just talk," he points out. "Just asking questions is for when you want someone else to do the talking."
Geddoe may be perfectly fine with the quiet, but he's also quite used to listening as others ramble, too. Beats having to say a lot himself, especially if he's not in the mood.
no subject
"Sorry....I just don't really know what to talk about. I'll keep quiet." He held Doggo closer as they neared the old beached ship, a few pokemon hanging around it. Zack didn't speak again until they were close to the ship.
"Man I wonder what kind of nasty storm did this....or maybe it was a pokemon."
no subject
On the other hand, the topic of the shipwreck does at least hold some interest.
"If it was a Pokemon, it probably wasn't an attack," he points out as he looks it over.

So, Geddoe just sighs a bit, and glances around for someplace to sit and wait.
no subject
"Hey! We can make stuff with this can't we?"
no subject
Geddoe takes a moment to look over the bundle of herbs.
"Probably, but you should check with the locals first. There's some plants here that are different from other worlds."
