So...right now Mira and I were traveling on Route 45. We're still some time out, but eventually it loops back around, and we'll pretty much be close to where we started, right?

We were talking about what we wanted to do after that, and...we're thinking about maybe finding a place to live first? Neither of us have started the gym challenges yet, but I think I'd prefer to have a more permanent place to stay first before doing that, just so we have somewhere to go back to in between taking on the gyms, y'know?

But I'm not entirely sure how to go about...getting a house? It was never really a problem back where we came from, but I know things are pretty different here. So maybe if anyone has any advice for places that are affordable or anything? That'd be a big help.

Oh it's pretty easy! You can ask around in town for places for sale or to rent, and somebody can usually point you to a landlord or someone with a place for sale. And I think they have people who's whole job it is to find other people places to live, so you could hire one of them.

Yeah! I think they're called reallity agents? Or something like that.

But if you're looking to rent, it's really really easy to find a place. Especially if you aren't really really picky - some people get really specific about their house. I don't know why. If it keeps the rain out and stays warm in winter, that's really all that matters.

I think renting would be easier for now, just because it'd be more affordable. I can kinda get why some people might like their house a certain way, though. If you're going to live there, then why not make it as comfortable for yourself as possible?

But I guess I can't say too much about that. My family's house is pretty different than most people's.

[H-HMM.] I'd imagine you'd want to look in one of the more central towns, if you're going to be going to and from it. Perhaps...they have housing assistance in some of them?

Yeah, that makes sense. It'd probably be good to stay someplace where you can get to the other towns pretty easily.

Really? What kind of housing assistance?

Well...I haven't been in this place for more than a few days, so I don't know how it would work. But at home, those with low income were placed in smaller homes so they could have shelter and a place to sleep safely.

Oh, Goldenrod might not be such a bad place to live. It does have that big store.

The building my partner and I own has some apartment spaces open. We're in Goldenrod. It's above Fight Club, however, so can be a little busy in the evenings.

The ground floor of the building is a bar themed after and dedicated to the noble Fighting Type! [Thace flashes a crooked grin and chuckles.] Down below is a fighting ring for those who wish to test their own merit at hand-to-hand against others. Humans and otherworlders only, and it is to be kept the strictest secret from the Jennies.

The higher floors of the building have some apartment space, a garden, a pool, and a rooftop space that I keep set up for training with my Pokemon family, although all residents are welcome to use the space. Patrons of Fight Club are not allowed so they shouldn't cause problems directly, but the entrance to the higher floors is through the club.

Are you looking for a place to rent, or to purchase? Both have certain advantages and disadvantages, after all. Also, consider what sort of budget you have, and what sort of conveniences you prefer. Places on the edges of or outside towns will be less expensive than those in the middle of a city, but you'll have to travel further even for routine matters like grocery shopping.

Hmm, probably to rent for now, since we are on a tighter budget. I don't really mind a little outside of town, and I don't think Mirabel would mind much either. [ She laughs a bit. ] We're used to walking a lot, anyway.

In that case, figure out how much you can afford to be spending on the rent--and keep in mind that some places with cheaper rent may require you to pay for some other things separately--and what sort of things you'd need or like to have. At minimum, look for someplace that's affordable and meets all your genuine needs, while ideally keep an eye out for something that also includes as many extras you'd like but can live without, as well.

Also, keep in mind that the larger the space, the more there is to clean. With two or more people working together this is easier, but too large a place can still become overwhelming.

Oh, if you are looking for buildings to rent, then I could introduce you to someone in either Johto and Kanto!

Before I had a bit of land to build things to our own desires, we went through quite a few rental properties... If you come to stay in Olivine, then I believe there may even be some of the spaces we looked at to be available.

Of course, I would understand if you didn't. Olivine is somewhat out of the way compared to a central city such as Goldenrod... but I do so like the view that we all keep here. It is very nice and serene, with the ocean as it is.

Could you? That'd be a lot of help! I'm not really sure what I'm doing, to be honest, so I'd appreciate any help you could give us.

I wouldn't mind someplace a bit more out of the way, to be honest. Mira and I are a little more used to smaller towns than big cities, so that wouldn't be too bad. Plus at least there are the warps if we need to get to somewhere else quick.

And I've gotten to like the ocean too. We didn't get to see it back home.

I can understand that desire completely. While the sea was something that came to Faerghus's coasts, it was quite opposite from the sea in Olivine. Colder, and more prone to ice and snow.

I will be sure to send you the realtor's contact information, then... Oh, and I can compose the list of questions that Grant made sure to ask about every property! He is quite experienced in matters such as these, and knows a good deal about things such as pipes, and roofing.

Getting a house is an idea worth considering. It is something that I'm looking into so that I can have more room for my team as they get bigger and more join them. There are some nice ones around.

Yeah, being able to let our Pokemon run around instead of being in the boxes all the time is one of the reasons we wanted to get a house too. There do seem to be a lot of options too, so that's nice.

That is part of the reason I have been looking as well. It seems a shame that not all of them can be out at one time. Also my Corvisquire will soon evolve and he will be too big for the apartment.
