[The 'gear view opens upon a vast expanse of those peculiarly textured magazines you can find in plastic stands on street corners, listing in vaguely blurry text various selling points of real estate. The view lifts, and you can see it's not so much a vast expanse as it is just a tabletop covered with them. Across the way from the person holding the 'gear is G'rhyf Kett, focused on a column of offers in one of the magazines, and the camera lingers for a moment on the image of their concentrated visage before they blink and look up, a bit bewildered before their nose crinkles and they chuckle.]

What're you doing, Raha?

[A sheepish laugh comes from behind the camera.] A thought occurred to me, is all - would you indulge me for a moment?

Just a moment?

Y-Yes, just a moment. [With a clearing of the throat, G'raha turns his 'gear around. He looks a bit tired, eyes reddish...well, besides his irises, I mean. It's likely he's been thumbing through real estate periodicals for hours to get that kind of look to him.] G'rhyf and I have been engaging in...well, I suppose it could be the closest thing to what adventurers like to call "Housing: Savage" - jovially of course - on our star. We thought, since we have both been designated as breeders, that it was only right we have a dedicated space for that - a sort of ranch, perhaps? Not the kind that's a one-level house in a neighborhood, but one with a field and some natural points of interest. Someplace where our Pokemon feel comfortable and at ease.

Yeah, now if only we could pick someplace...

Exactly, therein lies the problem - even with the scope of our search limited to two regions of this world, we simply cannot decide what area would be best. So...I thought, would we not benefit by asking the opinion of others who have been here longer? Who, say, might already have their own similar homes? Where would you elect to have such a ranch?

Please do, I don't want to read the thousandth specification of a building only to find it's absolutely impossibly expensive - that and, this paper is incredibly shoddy. G'rhyf, your hands aren't covered in ink, are they?

Have you not traveled both regions yourselves, yet? If so, an excellent place to start is simply picking the locations you liked best, and seeing what's available within them.

We have, but there's so many places that appeal it's hard to decide! And they appeal for different reasons as well; how can you really compare the mountains around Mahogany to the seaside of that lovely route near Fuschia?

[They just. Love the varied beauty of nature so much...]

What about things like access to stores versus privacy? Or whether you prefer places with lots of people in general or not? There's even weather to be taken into account, for that matter.

If you're planning on using a space for a large number of different Pokémon, then no matter what you select you will by necessity need to make some modifications to it to accommodate, one way or another. If you want to minimize those changes as much as possible, that would be one way to narrow your search; otherwise, look into what you find most appealing in a long term sense.

For example, if you're an hour's flight from the nearest town, that's perfectly fine so long as you don't mind possibly going without something or another until your next trip to purchase it. Considerations like that can greatly narrow your search.

We've been to so many places, though! It's difficult to chose just one - save for where building a home is literally impossible and unfeasible, every environment seems to have inherent benefits to raising any number of Pokemon! I'm aware there is no perfect location - we simply need to settle on agreeing on a good one.

Well, no matter what you choose, you will have to make some modifications if you want it to be able to accommodate all the various Pokémon who will be using the space. So to begin with, you can narrow matters to two choices: do you want something that minimizes the amount of modifications you need to do or, since you'll be doing some anyway, do you want something that appeals to your personal comfort and preferences?

If you choose the former, then if no one location stands out but rather a few are more or less equal, then you use your preferences as the deciding factor. If you choose the latter, then if several places are more or less similar in terms of comfort, you can use how much or little work is required to modify them to decide.

Either way, you eliminate a large number of options depending on which approach you take.

[Even with their nose scrunched up, they're still laughing as they shake their hand in a vain effort to fling the ink off. (Un)fortunately, the ink isn't wet or thick enough to go flying and simply remains smeared over their fingertips and thumb.]

With how much these places cost, you'd think they could spend a bit more on their print!

[G'rhyf looks up and, seeing that G'raha is distracted shutting the Gear back off, quickly leans across the table to smear a streak of ink over the bridge of his nose.] Hah! There!

Well.... What sort of type breeding are you both most interested? Is there a particular breed which has your attention, or do you intend to have as wide a variety as possible?

Um, w-well, I think we're in agreement on...perhaps trying to revive some of the ancient breeds we saw in Hisui? If such a thing is even possible...

[Probably not, but they would like to try!]

Oh! That would be a delightful goal. Then, if you would like... I have a few from Hisui myself. If you would like, I could have one of my psychic types speak with them, and give an idea of the kind of things that would work best for them.

I'd had a thought to try and bring back some of the ancient species of Pokemon we saw in Hisui...perhaps even any that are at risk of being lost entirely. The idea has become much more daunting now that it's more than an idle thought, however...

[Not to mention the Hisui Pokemon seeming to appear in the present on their own taking some of the wind out of their sails.]

Indeed. I can understand such feelings. It is an easy thing to dream, and yet reality can seem so very overwhelming. However, I do not think I would be the only one to be gladdened at the sight of them returning.

Do you have particular types in mind that you wish to start with? Try to go with the beginning in that matter.

Oh, boy... that might be tough, especially depending on if you have any plans to specialize in breeding a particular type. Having the building itself purpose-built might be ideal, but that depends on if you've got the resources...

Ah...well...I imagine wide open spaces would be more ideal in the long run. But the ability to go to a town or city and purchase necessities and supplies is important...I would say, somewhere in between? But I feel so...[G'raha frowns, furrowing his brow.] What's the word...something like...I'm assuming far too much, or expecting too much, if I pin it down to a specific type of location and don't allow for compromise.

I've been trying to not push for any particular location too much--I tend to feel at home just about anywhere, but I do know I'd like a lot of room for all of our Pokemon. Which probably means not in a city...
