Event: The Reveal Glass

Across the Pokémon world, characters may have spotted a falling star last night. Or at least, one would think that's what it was: a naturally occurring phenomenon, rather than a legendary artifact. Specifically, the Reveal Glass fell to earth during a fight among a group of legendaries started by the return of a long-lost family member. But it's probably best to leave them to handle all that themselves, while your characters deal with other consequences.
The Reveal Glass shattered upon impact, and the shards scattered throughout Kanto, Johto, and the Sevii Islands… And made their way into the hearts of your characters. But bleeding isn't the concern here. Instead, the impact will hit when a character first looks into any reflective service. An eerie feeling hits them as they're transported to the Mirror Dimension.
While this realm can be many different things for different characters, one thing is always true: It is a place of honesty, where true selves are revealed. Those struck by a shard will find themselves facing truths they are no longer able to hide, and now must accept. Fortunately enough, even those who haven't been struck will be able to enter the Mirror Dimension during this event via a reflective surface to offer help. By the end of the 29th, things will return to normal. Characters will be back in the usual Pokémon world and their hearts will be rid of the shards, but time is strange in the Mirror Dimension, and the experience may feel like it goes on far longer than a day. Or, maybe that's just the emotional exhaustion.
The Reveal Glass plot is here. You can swing by the event info post for additional details and FAQ, and play out your characters’ enforced therapy on this post. As with most VR events, this plot is entirely optional and your characters don't need to take part at all.

Once inside, you were presented with what looked like it had been a mechanic's shop, but hae been partially converted into a living space. Behind the front counter was a makeshift kitchen, and the waiting area had been turned into a living/dining room with a worn couch and a TV. There were still elements of the shop... boxes, a green chalk board with projects and dates over an old desk with piles of paperwork, a whiteboard across the way with notes, lockers... The remote for the TV was sitting there on the desk. If you flipped it on, you had the choice of a few specific channels...
1. - A message blinking across the screen... something about "Operation Meteor". If you lingered long enough, it would change to a video.
2. - A news report about a captured Gundam pilot.
3. - A broadcast message from a young girl with piercing blue eyes and short red hair in a military uniform.
4. - A static-filled channel
with stolen cable pornthat sounded like someone saying, "Welcome to Team Rocket..." in a garbled voice.no subject
The man (he still looks like a teenager on the outside) looks around, hands in his pockets. He looks with interest at the assorted notes and lockers... and then the TV remote which looks oddly out of place.
Weird.
Jotaro's not one for TV but maybe it has a hint of where he is, why he's here and how does he leave. He flicks to the news, frowning. What the hell is a Gundam Pilot?

Duo was in space, his Gundam heavily outmatched by the enemies new mobile suites. He was soundly defeated, and tried to self-destruct his Gundam, only to realize that the mechanism to do that was damaged and not functional.
Just his luck... he passed out from the strain.
After Duo passed out, the memory shifted to a news report again. (Same video, starting at 8:31, ending at 8:57. The report continues at 9:37 to 9:40.) It covered a Gundam pilot, specifically Duo, having been captured. OZ and colonies were cooperating to eradicate the threat from the Gundams. The people of the colonies seemed to be happy about this, though the feelings emanating from the video said otherwise. Duo was not convinced. The report continued, showing the damaged Gundam on a massive flatbed being transported through the streets of the colony C-102, crowds jeering at it from the sides.
The report shifted back to a memory... (same video, starting at 10:40...)
Duo was cuffed and seated in a chair near a desk. Several officers in uniform surrounded him. He looked injured, exhausted, his head hanging down as a man in a spacesuit sat down at the desk.]
I wasn't expecting the pilot of that Gundam to be just a kid.
[Duo opened his eyes as the man spoke. He almost took offense at being called 'just a kid', his entire posture changing to something more confrontational than beat down.]
Well, excuse me! So I've wounded your pride, have I?
[Sure, he was hurt, but his spirit wasn't completely broken, yet. The guards moved in to hold on to him, just in case he tried something.]
That's nothing compared to how your pride's suffered. You'll be executed. The people's feelings towards the execution will unite the colonies. [The man almost chuckled.] I never expected to utilize the Gundam pilots in this way.
[Duo struggled against the hold on him.]
Why, you- [One the guard struck him from behind, but he fought the urge to pass out for a few more seconds...] God damn all of you to Hell!
[And everything on the TV screen went dark. There was the sound of movement behind Jotaro now, and Duo was sitting on the couch. He was wearing a pair of black jodhpurs - wide-legged horse-riding pants, black motorcycle boots with some buckles around the ankles, and a black shirt with a priest collar, the baggy sleeves rolled up past his elbows with large white cuffs. The shirt looked a little large, thought the collar seemed to fit okay around his neck.
He had leaned back against the couch when Jotaro heard the movement, his posture loose and seemingly relaxed, though there was a slight undertone of tension. Having taken a classic manspread pose, he crossed his arms over his chest, staring at the TV with a thoughtful expression for a moment before he spoke.]
This place likes to dig things up out of your past, huh?
i took so long with this tag that the account with that video has been terminated omg
He has no response for his words. Jotaro only grunts before finally saying:]
... You are just a kid. [Yes, Jotaro is completely ignoring the fact that he himself looks seventeen. Jotaro pauses for a long moment before he glances over to the blank television]
... Did you get executed?
No worries... it might have been already. I'm recycling the memories from another game LOL
Well, uh... I'm not dead, so... no.
A buddy of mine broke me out. Kind of repaying the favor since I'd broken him out of a similar situation months before.
lollllll
Good friend. But... hmph. Similar situation? Does that happen a lot where you're from?

[Duo said that so nonchalantly, he might as well have said they were going on a picnic every day.]
But, hey... when the government does dumb things to people, some of us are gonna fight back.
no subject
You doing okay though? Even if it's the right thing, battles are hard. I'd imagine fighting back would take a toll on anyone.

Jotaro simply sighs.]
You got a team though, yeah? You're not a one-man squad so make sure you rely on them too. Trust me. Your comrades would rather shoulder what burden they can, even if whatever you gotta do is what you have to do alone.
no subject
But they might die...
[Duo didn't want that. He didn't want to lose anyone else in his life. It had happened so much already.]
no subject
[Jotaro gives a long, tired sigh and for a second he looks his actual age. He can relate, Duo.]
Do it alone but hurt them or do it together and risk them. There's no right answer for this sort of thing. Just think about it, that's all.
no subject
I can't stop them. They're good guys. They're gonna try to do the right thing regardless of the risk. I just... [He frowned.] Anyone who gets close to me dies. I guess I'm just tired of that.
[This was a huge admission. And, maybe, Duo felt okay saying it because this whole situation felt like a dream, like he wasn't actually talking to a real person right now. But, either way, it wasn't something he'd normally even come close to talking about, let alone openly admitting it to someone.]
no subject
Mmm... That feeling won't go away. Especially because there will always be good people in the world... and good people don't always survive. [Jotaro equally wouldn't admit the same in ordinary circumstances but it doesn't feel right if Duo is the only one admitting things like that... especially since he's clearly seen personally into Duo's life. Sharing seems only fair.] You know... I spent years distancing myself from my daughter but she ended up getting hurt still. Just because she was associated with me.
no subject
[So this guy understood. It was... not something he wished someone else to be able to understand... but, in a way, it was still kind of a comfort that he had someone who could relate.]
Sorry about your daughter.
[He was... honestly.]
no subject
For his part, Jotaro simply tips his hat to hide his face. It's hard to see against his black hat but a dark patch of blood is visible where he touched it. Jotaro always sees his hands covered in blood after all: the blood of his enemies, his allies and his daughter...]
... Yeah. She's... better now. I'm grateful that both of us get a second chance to live in the Pokemon World... But I blame myself still, hard to not when fighting got us both killed in the end.
...I found that she's still willing to be a family with me in spite of that. Even though I want to push her away here... It's better if she's nearby and has my back. And I know she feels the same way too. [Like how Duo's friends still want to be his friends and keep fighting despite the losses. It's tiring to worry about them... but their company... well...
It counts for something.]
no subject
[And it was comforting. If he thought about it, he knew his friends would be the same way... that, after all they've been through, it didn't matter. They were still friends. And they'd still fight beside each other.]
Thanks, man.
[That affirmation... reaffirmation... it was good to have.
And that helped the dream to move on...]
guess we can wrap up?
I'm Jotaro, if I didn't say so before. Come find me once we're out of this world. I'm always happy to lend an ear.
sounds good!
[And it all began to fade...]
