save our snorunts event log
Who: Everyone!
When: January 2-26
Where: Practically everywhere. Maybe not the volcano on Cinnabar Island.
What: Save those Snorunts!
OOC Info: here!
The hills are alive with the sound of… sneezing?
It’s almost a week into January, and trainers may have started to get nervous about the lack of Snorunts. Whether you’re excited to see them, or just want the metaphorical bomb to drop and be over with - the wait is finally done. Snorunts have started to make their way into town.
But instead of fortunes, what they have to give right now is coughs, bleary eyes, and sad little flops sideways into the snow. They’re not alone, either: every once in a while you’ll see an equally sick Glalie or Froslass. (Be careful - a sneezing Glalie is basically a wrecking ball waiting to happen, prone to launching itself backward! And if you’ve been struck by an odd spurt of bad luck, maybe you’ll be right in the way when it does…)
In cities across Johto and Kanto, and in field camps in between, Nurse Joys are scrambling to treat the miserable Ice Pokemon. But they’re direly in need of more helping hands. Will you pitch in?

Ulaz | OTA
In the meantime, Irkut the Meowstic had decided this was the perfect opportunity to teach his daughter, still an Espurr, how to use her psychic powers. The two of them were staying low enough that Froslass couldn't see them - watching Irkut practically crawling was a bit amusing - and then the Espurr would launch something in the air with her powers to give the Froslass a distraction and something to freeze. If they missed, it got thrown again. If they hit it, off they went to the next one.
She was very excited, but also staying quiet since the Froslass were much bigger than her and she didn't want to actually attract their attention...
But Ulaz would watch this as he worked, making sure the pair were staying out of trouble.

"It has been going well. There are many that are sick at the moment unfortunately. How has it been going on your end?"
no subject
"Eevee-vee," Evie said. She didn't mind getting to have a bath, at least!
no subject
Like Irkut's daughter. She was an Espurr after all.
"Have you found out why this happened?"

He sighs and nods. "It's been a pretty hectic month trying to take care of all the sick ones. Seems like they got hit by bad luck this year themselves."
no subject
Ulaz nodded. "It does indeed. I feel sorry that it has made nearly all of the Snorunts and their evolutions ill. Strangely, I haven't seen it in other Pokemon."
no subject
He frowned and nodded. "That is pretty weird that it's only affecting them. I wonder why that is and if any of the Joys are trying to study it."
no subject
Ulaz nodded. "I was wondering about that as well. I was not aware that their physique so different from other Pokemon that only they would be affected."
no subject
He nodded. "I hope that's not just the first of a bunch of strains that will only affect certain Pokemon."
It would be horrifying for him if a strain affecting Eevees happened.
no subject
Ulaz had a varied enough team that a strain impacting one would not affect many, but he still didn't wish that on any Pokemon, wild or owned.
no subject
He was sure they wouldn’t want to really cause what did happen, at least.
no subject
He didn't think they would either. As far as he was aware, potentially killing Pokemon was not their motive. Catching them was.
no subject
And he kind of wondered why. Were all the members really that gung-ho? Or were nicer members too afraid to speak out, even anonymously?
no subject
Ulaz wondered that as well. He knew fully well how people could be corrupted, but there were always people who resisted.
no subject
"Well, let's hope things will settle down after we finally get all the sick Pokemon taken care of. I'm sure everyone will need a break after that."
no subject
Maybe the universe was out of sorts...

"Eevee," said Evie.

Irkut came wandering with his daughter Espurr in tow.
no subject
He smiled at the kitties. "Hey there. How are you guys doing?"
Evie greeted them happily.
no subject
Ulaz glanced over and smiled as Irkut, now a big boy Meowstic gave a wave and a squeak. His daughter also squeaked too, immediately "running" to go see Evie.
"These two have been a lot of help with distracting the Pokemon that need entertainment."
They were short so they were harder to spot (thus not becoming targets themselves) and psychic powers meant they could move things around.
