[Well, look who it is - Thida's shown up on the network today, and surprisingly she's smiling, despite the cold weather and snow still on the ground. You'd think she'd be depressed like the last time she made a post, but it seems that a change of pace has been good for her - as well as whatever might be in the Pokeball she's holding.]

Know 'bout th'Dark Cave? Soooo dark! Nobody put lights up - but I got a friend!

[The Pokeball is tossed up, and out comes a Noibat. It immediately flies down to the 'gear to get a closer look.] Noi? Noi noiba, bat! Bat noi!

[Laughing that bubbly laugh of hers, Thida edges into view again.] So cool! Wanna find more friends 'n go deeper...but, 's super dark! Gotta get like...ten flashlights? People? People who got flashlights? Who wants t'go?

Yeah, the meat is... one of those mysteries I'm never sure I want to see unveiled. It's not like it tastes bad, but knowing would be nice, right?

[She nods eagerly.] So weird! Gotta eat, but...still so weird!

Yeah, sometimes I even consider trying vegetarianism. But the fruits can be weird and dangerous too, so that might not be such a good idea.

Mhm, read 'bout the berries. But, some stuff's okay, if y'look while travellin'.

Is the time spent looking worth the amount of edible plants found, or is it better to stick to prepackaged rations?

If y'don't got a choice, 's always worth it. Did it at first...'n sometimes still do it. 'S good for savin' money.

Money's rarely a problem with a Meowth, but that does sound useful in a pinch. I might have to try my hand at it, one of these days.

Meowth's a cat...yeah? Already got a cat one, though.

[By that she means she has a Luxray. Obviously you don't need more cats than one.]

Just one? Wow, you have more restraint than most people around here.

[And a great deficit of cats in her life, obviously.]

[There is only one cat in the world, where she's from. Having any more seems silly, because they'd all end up being named Judd, and that's just confusing.]

Yeah? Ev'rybody gets lotsa cats?

Many people do. I've got four of my own, and that's without looking for them.

How come, though?

Well, a lot are Normal-types, and they hang around major cities, so that makes them easy to find and catch. I guess.

'N cats're Normal? Mostly?

Mostly. There are a few Dark- and Psychic-types, too, but Normal has Meowth, Glameow, Skitty...

[Typing doesn't matter to her too much, so long as a Pokemon is a friend.]

Dunno if I wanna get more cats, still.

You don't have to if you don't want them. Especially if you'd rather raise cats and fish instead.

Mm...should get a fish. Prob'ly, right?

[Just get one of every general species.]

They're good if you want a Water-type. Some of them evolve into octopuses, though.

[And go from blue to red, but that's completely normal.]

[There is a significant pause where Thida looks back at Ash with a wide-eyed, blank expression, as if there's a processing error going on.]

Yeah. Octillery might need some time to adjust to its new tentacles, but it get enough type coverage to be worth the effort.

[There's a very quiet, very subtle flicker in her eyes. Octillery. Even the name is...]

Find those in th'ocean?

Probably? I got mine from a breeder who's long gone, but she had to catch hers somewhere.

[The ocean would make sense, but which part...?]

[We're going to have to be careful what we catch from the ocean from now on.]
