It's time for the solstice!
Who: Everyone attending the Azalea festival!
Where: Azalea town and surrounding woods
When: June 21st
Summary: Celebi's come out, so it's time to throw a party in its honor!
Log:
It's Midsummer! Traditional festivities in Azalea are all in full swing, and this year even bigger and better than ever, thanks to the influx of curious tourists and Legendary Seekers drawn by the rumors in hopes of catching a glimpse of the elusive Celebi. Everyone in Azalea is putting out their finest, and the whole town is decked out with flowers in vases and pots, colorful streamers, and bright awnings under which vendors hawk their wares.
The fun doesn't stop there, however. Those time disturbances that have been popping up all over the place? They've become at once more localized and more benign. Flowers open quickly and stay in bloom without fading, a blissful moment seems to stretch into eternity, somehow you've managed to sample the food of a dozen different booths and it still is barely mid-morning. It's like a perfect moment somehow drawn out, suspended in time to savor as long as possible. Those who have a particularly fun few minutes may even find them repeated a few times!
Which perhaps should be no surprise, given that Celebi itself has come out to play! If you're lucky and paying close attention, you might even catch a glimpse of it flitting about from one place to another throughout the town and the nearby forest. It certainly isn't shy, though it is moving quite quickly and doing anything but staying in one place. Anybody who might attempt to catch or challenge it to a battle isn’t going to get anywhere at all—and stubborn trainers might find themselves stuck in a time loop for a few hours. There's simply so much to see and do, after all! Strangely enough, if any of the Legend Seekers are around, Celebi never seems to be anywhere to be found.
Eventually, though, the long day will come to an end, and the festivities with it. By morning, all the hubbub will be gone, and Celebi with it. But not quite without a trace: anyone who came to Azalea Town to participate in the festival will find in their belongings a single fossil as a parting gift from the Time Travel Pokémon.

She had already done her rounds of the place and gotten herself acquainted with the layout before she started to wander through the stalls properly, her Honchkrow following along with Rife (Ciss's Absol) at her side while Tseng was currently cradled in his trainer's arms.
It was the two ghosts that she spotted first, curious about them before realizing they were hovering around someone--someone familiar, actually.
"Hello Walter," she greeted with a sincere smile, her Absol pacing away and sitting a few feet away in a protective manner as her trainer approached.

His eyes were drawn to Tseng. How strange...another golden Riolu. The second he had met in Johto. From what he had heard, golden Riolus were extremely rare so it was curious that this was the second one he had met. But he noticed her other Pokemon too; both were Pokemon species he owned. Sentinel was in his ball however, and wasn't yet high enough level to be considered a strong bodyguard yet.

"Enjoying the festival?" She was honestly a bit surprised to see him here given she hadn't pegged him as the type to actually enjoy social things like this. Shows how much she knows, apparently.
Tseng notices the attention he's getting and peers back at Walter with interest. There's something about this man..something about his aura that's intriguing. The Riolu's gaze seems to follow something--the shift in Walter's aura--before he meets the man's gaze. He lifts a paw in a wave, a bit out of character for Tseng since he rarely interacts with others. Rue, from her spot beside Cissnei, notices and let's out a low, curious sound which draws the Riolu's attention, the two having a silent conversation now.
"I heard an interesting tidbit about you the other day. From some of your Pokemon actually," Cissnei added, aware that her Pokemon were having their own little conversation but opting to let them be for now.

He nodded to Tseng just as he had Cissnei in greeting. Source gave a curious sound, leaning forward to look at Tseng. Doll giggled as she knew all about Assumption's little golden boyfriend, even if Walter was blissfully ignorant about the nature of their friendship.
"My Pokemon...? Was Assumption using the PokeGear?" He was thus far the one who had used Walter's Gear in the past to speak over the network. Darkness only used it to call Lyra...as far as Walter was aware.

The Riolu's attention went to Source, ignoring Doll and her giggling because he didn't care to know what it was all about. He'd never encountered a Pokemon like Source before and it showed. He studied the other with a curious glint in his eye, letting out a little woof-like sound. What are you?
Ah, so he still didn't know.
Cissnei smiled and shook her head, lifting a hand to tap her chin.
"It was three bird Pokemon actually. And they made mention of something that's apparently coming up," she mused before reaching up to pick Tseng up and set him on the ground now, giving her the room to move and dig through the messenger bag she was wearing. She hadn't been sure if he'd come but she'd brought it along just in case and luck was apparently on her side.
"Happy early birthday, Walter," she said sincerely as she held out two small packages, one clearly booked shaped--a blank leather bound journal--and the other a small box that was filled with an assortment of cookies she'd gotten at a bakery. "I was going to have Rue deliver it but on the off chance I ran into you here I brought it with me."

Three birds. If one included the Flock, he had a lot of bird-like Pokemon...but three birds using the gear meant that Darkness had to be involved, especially if there was speaking to other humans. He would need to have a word with Darkness- but then, how had Darkness known his birthday? He hadn't told anyone, not even his Pokemon, that it was upcoming. The confusion was plain on Walter's face, but the offer of a gift knocked it away to make room for shock.
"...why are you giving me this?" His birthday had never been celebrated or even really marked during his life. He was only told of it to keep track of how old he was. So the concept of being given something, especially from someone he didn't feel he knew too well was beyond foreign; it was outright alien to him.

"Because everyone deserves a gift or two on their birthday," she said simply, still holding out the gifts, willing to wait until he was comfortable enough to take them. "I asked them what they thought you might like and I'm hoping I at least got close in my guesses."
A certain Xatu had been a little bit round about with it's speech so Cissnei had just taken a chance on what to get him.

He'd need to have a word with his Pokemon. "...I never told them when my birthday was." He murmured softly. Walter very hesitantly took the journal, flipping it open. He was still filling in his current diary but it was getting close to full. He would've needed a new one next month. He touched over the blank pages. "Yes...this is something I needed. Urm...thank you." He couldn't look her in the eyes, too awkward and shy about receiving anything.

"I'm sure they didn't mean any harm by it," Cissnei mused, letting him take the journal and keeping a hold of the smaller package of assorted cookies. "Good. I tried to find something that could handle being toted around as you travel and that one seemed to be the best of the bunch." With a smile, she held out the other package. "They mentioned you had a bit of a sweet tooth, too, so hopefully these satisfy it."
It's alright, Walter. She doesn't mind in the least. She's just glad she picked something useful.

Walter gently took the cookies as well. That immediately got Doll's attention, who floated coyly up beside him, placing her felt hands onto his arm. Those look awful tasty...He gave her a knowing look, tucking him into his bag and earning a giggle from Doll. "A sweet tooth?" Perhaps they meant for themselves - but really, Walter did have a bit of a sweet tooth, albeit one he handled maturely and only on occasion.
"Thank you. But...you didn't have to do this. I've not received gifts before." He admitted very quietly. Rhys had offered and had given him a gift of sorts, but that was in Johto. Before his death in his world, he had never been given anything for his birthday.
no subject
"I know I didn't have to do it. I wanted to do it, there's a difference," Cissnei said with a shrug, her expression still soft, more at ease than it normally might be. She doesn't feel the need to be as closed off around Walter; maybe she's getting more comfortable with him. Who can say. "Everyone deserves something nice on their birthday, or a few days before as the case may be."
She, herself, has never celebrated a birthday but that's besides the point. That's more because she has no idea what her birthday is than anything else.
