It's Midsummer! Traditional festivities in Azalea are all in full swing, and this year even bigger and better than ever, thanks to the influx of curious tourists and Legendary Seekers drawn by the rumors in hopes of catching a glimpse of the elusive Celebi. Everyone in Azalea is putting out their finest, and the whole town is decked out with flowers in vases and pots, colorful streamers, and bright awnings under which vendors hawk their wares.

The fun doesn't stop there, however. Those time disturbances that have been popping up all over the place? They've become at once more localized and more benign. Flowers open quickly and stay in bloom without fading, a blissful moment seems to stretch into eternity, somehow you've managed to sample the food of a dozen different booths and it still is barely mid-morning. It's like a perfect moment somehow drawn out, suspended in time to savor as long as possible. Those who have a particularly fun few minutes may even find them repeated a few times!

Which perhaps should be no surprise, given that Celebi itself has come out to play! If you're lucky and paying close attention, you might even catch a glimpse of it flitting about from one place to another throughout the town and the nearby forest. It certainly isn't shy, though it is moving quite quickly and doing anything but staying in one place. Anybody who might attempt to catch or challenge it to a battle isn’t going to get anywhere at all—and stubborn trainers might find themselves stuck in a time loop for a few hours. There's simply so much to see and do, after all! Strangely enough, if any of the Legend Seekers are around, Celebi never seems to be anywhere to be found.

Eventually, though, the long day will come to an end, and the festivities with it. By morning, all the hubbub will be gone, and Celebi with it. But not quite without a trace: anyone who came to Azalea Town to participate in the festival will find in their belongings a single fossil as a parting gift from the Time Travel Pokémon.

[Honestly it was too entertaining to resist. A group that actively seeks out information on Legendaries and is so enthusiastic about it? Cissnei wasn't expecting a whole lot of valuable information from them but it never hurt to indulge the locals a bit.

So she had signed up and gotten her little pin--which Tseng promptly took and was holding protectively in his paws--before settling down near the booth to listen to what they had to say to anyone else that passes by.

Perched in the tree above where she sat jotting things down in her notebook was her Honchkrow, Rue, the bird eyeing anyone and everyone that came close in a manner that suggested she was trying to look into their very soul. (It's all for show, though! Promise!) Resting at her feet as she works is her Absol, Rife, seemingly snoozing but it won't take much for her to let out a quiet growl.

Dare you approach and see what she's busy writing about?]

[Ed's expression reveals exactly what he thinks of this group of blowhards, having listened to their gimmick enough to gather that it was just some flashy show.

Still, the festival itself might not have been a complete waste if the right conversation was listened in on, and at least the food was good. If nothing else, the sound of horse hooves approaching easily gave away his position.]

You didn't come here just to be bored to death by these idiots, did you?

[Cissnei's pen doesn't stop as she continues to scribble down some notes but the grin that appears on her lips makes it clear that she knew who it was she was talking to.]

They're entertaining, if nothing else.

[She finally pauses, resting her pen inside the notebook as she snaps it close, gaze lifting to Ed. Beside her, Tseng, her Riolu, is watching the blonde with interest.]

Nice to meet you in person, Edward.

I guess. Entertaining seems to be more what they're going for, anyway.

[The scowl doesn't fade right away, but when it does it gives in to a grin of his own]

Yeah, you too. Have you been here long?

Definitely. [She motioned to Tseng who held up the pin she'd gotten with one paw.] I couldn't resist indulging them.

[Because it had been too entertaining, okay.]

Only for an hour or so. Just long enough to get a feel for everything before actually doing anything of interest.

I didn't get that close to the booth, little too flashy for me.

[Still, he seems amused.]

You seem to be taking some serious notes, did you actually find anything of interest or... just amusing yourself?

[He doesn't want to pry, and he's certainly not looking, adding flatly.]

I think the most interesting thing here are the food stalls.

I can't blame you in that case. It's a little ridiculous. I'm honestly wondering if they expect people to take them seriously with how flashy it is.

[But there's a certain charm about it.]

Mostly just notes about things I've noticed since I got here, about the town itself. I haven't gotten a chance to visit the shrine yet but I intend to. Maybe see if there's any attendants that I can ask about Celebi.

[She stands, scooping Tseng up in the process while her Absol stands when she does.]

Care to join me? [A small grin appears.] Unless you want me to introduce you to the other Legendary Seekers.

[To Ed that might as well have been a threat, and he's got a suspicion that despite how little they knew of each other she's well aware of what she's doing.

Something about that grin, probably.

The scowl is back firmly in place, you're welcome Cissnei. There's something long suffering in his tone, as if to say he knows that she knew which he'd pick given the option. Even the ponyta looks a little confused by this exchange, because his trainer is not acting as he'd grown to predict.]

Let's go check out the shrine.

[It's understandable that you'd be wary of that grin, Ed. It could mean a lot of things after all.

And yes, she knew which option he was going to go with but it's always good to give people options, right? She was just trying to give you a chance to get to know the other people apparently researching the Legendaries, Ed!]

It's this way. [She motioned for him to follow, grin still in place as she headed up the pathway that lead towards the shrine.] So from the small talk I've made since I got here, legend has it that Celebi is not only just the guardian of the forest near here but can move through time and exist simultaneously at different points in time.

[Why does a Pokemon have power like that?? Why??]
