GHOST TRICK PART ONE: Festival Log!

Log:

The streets are lined with NPC-run stalls for food, games, and the assorted tchotchkes of every summer festival you’ve ever seen in your animes! There’s Goldeen Scoop, heaping cones of Swirlix Candy, Test Your STRENGTH (there are two different machines for people and Pokémon; HM04 not required); basically, if you can think of it, it’s there. There will also be a yukata rental stall if you want to go full hog on the cultural side of things. Ecruteak boasts a small stage where the Kimono Girls give a short performance once every two hours; the festivities in Lavender Town are a little quieter, but they also have Haunter-shaped ice cream treats. When you lick them, they Lick you!

On the last evening (August 15th) of the festival in either location, there will be a large bonfire and traditional bon-odori dance in which everyone is welcome to participate. In Lavender Town only, they also set paper lamps afloat in the water past the cliffs.

The closer you get to midnight on the last night of the festival, the more ghosts pop up.

[He probably yelps something he'd heard Coran hiss a few times, but, even with all her wild teenage powers... he's sort of built like a brick house these days, and the collision only staggers him.]

[So they both end up reaching out to steady each other.]

[Wow, that's a big dog. He'll trail off long enough to look down at Cujo, eyes widening.]

[His Aron, meanwhile, scuttles over to squeak indignantly at the big dog. How dare u!]

_{[The Growlithe cranes his head back to look at his trainer, tongue lolling out and tail wagging, before turning his attention to the little Aron. He doesn't seemed at all perturbed by the angry squeaking, and assumes a play-bow. 8) HELLO LITTLE FREND!!!!!!!}

[Oh no it's cute. And apparently irritating his own little friend, so. After giving the Aron a pointed look, he'll hold out human fingers for Cujo to sniff. It looks like a dog, so it must be a dog, right?]

--er, Cujo. He's my starter. And yeah, he's a big boy. Right buddy? Who's the biggest boy?!

_{[She reaches down to ruffle the thick mane of fur Cujo sports. He's perfectly happy to shove his big cold nose right into Shiro's hand even as he wiggles happily under the attention of his trainer.]}

[Oh my God. Heather has accomplished a small miracle. He's laughing. In complete disbelief, but he's laughing. Oh, god, but that's like something Lance would do.]

_{[Cujo, completely content, leans heavily on Shiro's leg and enjoys the petting. IT IS SUCH A GOOD DAY TO BE HIM.]}

Who wouldn't? [Because man he's from Earth, you didn't grow up and not hear about Cujo or Steven King, no matter what century.] Even if I hadn't, the others probably would have mentioned it at some point... Not a huge fan, but I've seen a few movies.

[That is fine. That is more than fine. He's just going to give the big goober some serious behind-the-ear rubs.]

Well, I can see how going from being out there in the final frontier to suddenly being on solid ground could be somewhat startling.

Yeah, well. That's part of it, for sure. [He'll pause in adoring Cujo long enough to look at her.] I guess not everyone shows up yelling like that, huh?

_{[Cujo snorts loudly and shoves his nose under Shiro's hand to encourage the continuation of adoration.]}

<sub>[Her tone makes it clear she's 100% kidding. Barking orders into the mic, no matter how frantic, is still a much more level-headed reaction than the people who show up and just kind of scream their brains out.]

[Upon the return of positive attention, Cujo immediately flops down and rolls over to expose the massive expanse of fluff that is his belly, tail sweeping back and forth in the dirt. CONTINUE? YES?]</sub>

[It probably speaks to the fact he's been around people younger than him that he flinches a bit from the slap, even though it doesn't hurt, and says, in the most monotone voice possible:] Ow.

[Cujo gets a few more scratches before he pushes himself up as well.]
