GHOST TRICK PART ONE: Festival Log!

Log:

The streets are lined with NPC-run stalls for food, games, and the assorted tchotchkes of every summer festival you’ve ever seen in your animes! There’s Goldeen Scoop, heaping cones of Swirlix Candy, Test Your STRENGTH (there are two different machines for people and Pokémon; HM04 not required); basically, if you can think of it, it’s there. There will also be a yukata rental stall if you want to go full hog on the cultural side of things. Ecruteak boasts a small stage where the Kimono Girls give a short performance once every two hours; the festivities in Lavender Town are a little quieter, but they also have Haunter-shaped ice cream treats. When you lick them, they Lick you!

On the last evening (August 15th) of the festival in either location, there will be a large bonfire and traditional bon-odori dance in which everyone is welcome to participate. In Lavender Town only, they also set paper lamps afloat in the water past the cliffs.

The closer you get to midnight on the last night of the festival, the more ghosts pop up.

Bigger than you'd probably expect. ...But I don't really do the whole dancing thing. That was the big appeal though. You dance on the moon and the gravity's all messed up and whatnot...

Wasn't really my scene. Something like this is way more familiar, if nothing else. ...Though I haven't seen anything like this since I was a little girl.

It's nostalgic, certainly. Something like this, you'd never find it where I come from. It's like a relic from the past.

[She looks kind of surprised. This whole 'different worlds' thing is still something she hasn't entirely wrapped her head around.]

They're...not that uncommon, I think.

That's because you're from a world that didn't get its collective shit kicked in by giant monsters. Consider yourself lucky for that.

[Mei's not really sure how to respond to that. She has had to deal with watching half of her class die in absolutely horrible ways thanks to a curse, though.]

Well, you're not wrong, but it's not like I use my bare hands. I'm a pilot. I fight from the inside of a giant mech.

[She's not big into manga and anime and all that, but...well, can she really say that's a big surprise? This whole world is odd. Giant mechs and monsters can't be that big a stretch.]
