HALLOWEEN 2016: Team Skull Log

Summary: Team Skull's planned a full-fledged assault on Goldenrod; join up with a team and take them down!

Log:

It's been three days since Guzma's made his first announcement over the radio, but try as the police might, no one's been able to get to him since; after making his call to arms, asking all available Skulls to come to Goldenrod to have some fun, he seems to have completely dropped off without a trace. But Candela isn't concerned much about that. She's been at this for long enough to know the song and dance; this is a pivotal spot, after all, and Guzma will be back here before long, probably with more than enough cronies to go around. When that happens, they'll head him off at the pass. Easy as that. He's gotta get orders out to the people outside, after all, and the only place he can do that is here.

He won't take it over a second time. Team Valor will make sure of that.

Meanwhile, outside the tower, Blanche would like to think she has a bit more control of the situation. Candela had been so gung-ho on kicking Guzma's ass in the tower that Blanche almost didn't have the heart to tell her that there was probably an ambush waiting in there for her. ...Rather, she tried, but Candela has a way of being far too stubborn for her own good...in any case, if she needs backup, she's out here to provide it, but if there are going to be riots and messes in the streets, its better to be out here where the damage is going to be at its highest, just to stop it before it starts. Already, Team Skull is starting to come out in small hordes, and it won't be long before things start to get hectic out here. Team Mystic, though, is dedicated towards stopping this before it gets a chance to start. ...But perhaps they'd be taken a bit more seriously if Candela and Spark hadn't forced her to dress up for Halloween--

Speaking of Spark, of course, Team Instinct's leader seems to have his priorities in order; if there are going to be riots and debris in the streets, some of the wild Pokemon in the area might just get hurt, and that will never do! So Spark has taken it on himself to lead a search-and-rescue charge with Team Instinct--any stray Pokemon in the Goldenrod area should be either captured or brought straight to a Pokemon Center ASAP! The goal is not to leave even one behind! ...Of course, Team Skull is a problem, too, but won't somebody think of the Pokemon--

You're free to NPC any Team Skull grunts and Pokemon interactions yourselves, but Team Valor will have the chance to battle Guzma, and Team Mystic will have the chance to battle Plumeria! Please be patient with responses in these threads; if the boss's Pokemon start to become too weak, they'll end up making a tactical retreat!

One last thing: you're all encouraged to have your character in costume for an event like this, and your team leaders will be dressed in costume, too! If three or more characters in costume participate in a thread together, a miracle might occur, and the Legendary Bird corresponding with your team has a chance to appear at your discretion! This applies in battles with Guzma and Plumeria, as well!

[help. yeah. he could use a little bit of that. Well, his Shellos and Poliwag seem to be mostly holding up for themselves as they pass by, but he's kind of just carrying his Espurr at this point. Gotta... get to the Pokemon Center, unless that's under attack...

He does pause when he gets a closer look at Jane, though, before cracking a smirk when he puts things together.]

You know, I really didn't recognize you there.

[Huh? That voice -

Jane turns around as some Grunts go running for their Admin. When she spots Tarrlok, she can't help but smile a little sheepishly.]

Ahah, well! That's the point of Halloween, isn't it?

[She then spots that little Espurr and her brows knit together.] Oh dear. Is your friend...?

I'm... presuming so, given that I'm not exactly familiar with this holiday. I get the general premise, anyway.

[...his smirk fades a bit at that, though, because, well...]

She's... not doing her best, no. I thought she'd do well against Grimers, since... they're Poison type, aren't they? But her Psychic attacks didn't seem to affect the one we fought at all, and things went poorly quick.

Do you know which way it is to the Pokemon Center? Unless you have anything that could get her back up on her feet again more quickly, of course.

Well, you're doing fine so far.

[She looks sadly at the poor dear, and as if sensing her trainer's concern, Jane's Audino comes over to take a look at the Espurr, talking to it in soft tones.]

Dinah can give the poor dear her energy back, and heal her if she's poisoned - ah!

[Yeah, Dinah's using Heal Pulse unprompted, because duh, they've been on healing duty for a while now, she gets the drill.]

I don't think she's poisoned, at the very least. But... that definitely seems like a good ability to have, so I guess I don't actually have to worry about running to a Pokemon Center, then.

[WHICH IS GOOD, BECAUSE HE DOESN'T ACTUALLY KNOW HIS WAY AROUND... if nothing else, the Espurr in his arms definitely does perk up a bit after that, although she still seems a bit groggy.]

[Here, hold on, Dinah's just going to reach into Jane's back and pull out an Oran berry to offer to the Espurr. This will help, friend!]

I got very lucky with Dinah, honestly - but just make sure to keep an eye on your Pokemon, alright sir? It really would be a shame if they got too worn out very quickly.

[Yeah she...has a vague idea of where the Center is? But not a concrete one.]

Well, I'll do my best. Unfortunately, it's been a little hard to control exactly how experienced my enemies are, so...

[He moves to set the Espurr down, which... well, she takes the berry, nods in thanks, and then kind of awkwardly scoots behind her trainer's leg.]

...I know physically fighting is frowned upon here, but surely no one would mind in an occasion like this, right?

That's something we can't control, unfortunately. [But there's a definite gleam in Jane's eyes at that second thing.] As for that, sir, I certainly wouldn't frown on it myself - I might be inclined to help, if things got to that point.

Well, if my Pokemon end up in dire straits, I may just end up not having any choice, will I?

Granted, I'm not as used to simply punching people as I'm sure a fair amount of people are, but I'm sure you can get used to it quite easily.

Oh, it's not hard at all! Just be sure to keep your arms level with your shoulders, and keep your thumb outside of your fist, tucked under your fingers. My Dad's told me that that's essential.

[Mr. Crocker just wants his little girl to be able to defend herself.]

Right, of course. That all certainly sounds sensible enough. And... even though aiming for the face seems satisfying, you should probably try and hit softer areas instead, shouldn't you?

Well, if you want to knock them right out, you can aim for the throat? But I think a couple of black eyes wouldn't be too big a price to pay.

[Why yes her Dad did tell her about aiming for the throat. Considering he can punch a huge hole out of a stone wall, such a move would be lethal from him.]

...I feel like you could actually kill someone if you did that the wrong way, though, and I don't quite want to go that far... so I think I'll stick to black eyes.

Ah, yeah, my Dad did say that should be a last resort only...

I doubt it'll be necessary with this crew, anyway, given that I'm not entirely sure how used they are to actually being punched.

They are probably not used to being punched at all. Which is...a surprising thought.

It's definitely surprising, but... if that is the case, I can't say it's an unwelcome one at all.

It really is a shame they're not already used to it, though. You'd think obnoxious tryhard rapper-like folks would be universally annoying.
