HALLOWEEN 2016: Team Skull Log

Summary: Team Skull's planned a full-fledged assault on Goldenrod; join up with a team and take them down!

Log:

It's been three days since Guzma's made his first announcement over the radio, but try as the police might, no one's been able to get to him since; after making his call to arms, asking all available Skulls to come to Goldenrod to have some fun, he seems to have completely dropped off without a trace. But Candela isn't concerned much about that. She's been at this for long enough to know the song and dance; this is a pivotal spot, after all, and Guzma will be back here before long, probably with more than enough cronies to go around. When that happens, they'll head him off at the pass. Easy as that. He's gotta get orders out to the people outside, after all, and the only place he can do that is here.

He won't take it over a second time. Team Valor will make sure of that.

Meanwhile, outside the tower, Blanche would like to think she has a bit more control of the situation. Candela had been so gung-ho on kicking Guzma's ass in the tower that Blanche almost didn't have the heart to tell her that there was probably an ambush waiting in there for her. ...Rather, she tried, but Candela has a way of being far too stubborn for her own good...in any case, if she needs backup, she's out here to provide it, but if there are going to be riots and messes in the streets, its better to be out here where the damage is going to be at its highest, just to stop it before it starts. Already, Team Skull is starting to come out in small hordes, and it won't be long before things start to get hectic out here. Team Mystic, though, is dedicated towards stopping this before it gets a chance to start. ...But perhaps they'd be taken a bit more seriously if Candela and Spark hadn't forced her to dress up for Halloween--

Speaking of Spark, of course, Team Instinct's leader seems to have his priorities in order; if there are going to be riots and debris in the streets, some of the wild Pokemon in the area might just get hurt, and that will never do! So Spark has taken it on himself to lead a search-and-rescue charge with Team Instinct--any stray Pokemon in the Goldenrod area should be either captured or brought straight to a Pokemon Center ASAP! The goal is not to leave even one behind! ...Of course, Team Skull is a problem, too, but won't somebody think of the Pokemon--

You're free to NPC any Team Skull grunts and Pokemon interactions yourselves, but Team Valor will have the chance to battle Guzma, and Team Mystic will have the chance to battle Plumeria! Please be patient with responses in these threads; if the boss's Pokemon start to become too weak, they'll end up making a tactical retreat!

One last thing: you're all encouraged to have your character in costume for an event like this, and your team leaders will be dressed in costume, too! If three or more characters in costume participate in a thread together, a miracle might occur, and the Legendary Bird corresponding with your team has a chance to appear at your discretion! This applies in battles with Guzma and Plumeria, as well!

Careful--this is for those Skull idiots. And you don't look like you're skeleton themed, so I'm guessing you're on our side.

[She turns pretty quickly - too quickly for a normal kid - and holds the mop up in defense, but...

Well, Envy is creepy looking, but he's no Skull Grunt. Mop goes down, and the Inkay beside her relaxes a bit.]

Trap for the bullies?

[That was a quicker turn than he'd expected, and he takes another step back in case he gets a smack from that mop--but it turns out he doesn't have to worry about that, whew.]

Yeah, that's right. I'm pretty sure there are a couple in here somewhere...wanna help me find 'em?

That mop would probably help with convincing them they don't want to be here.

[She knows the difference between friend and foe - it's an important skill to have. When he suggests that the mop could be helpful in getting at those grunts, there's a definite smirk on her face. It won't be like an Inkbrush, but...]

Yeah!

[He lets out a laugh that's two steps away from being a cackle.]

Then let's go find them! Just stick close to me, and you won't get lost in here.

[And with that, he turns and heads back into the gloom, the shadows of illusory faces and demons floating through the gloom around them. It's not long before they'll be able to hear some distressed voices further ahead.]

Yo, this ain't right!

[Thida's quick to follow, and her Inkay is a constant with her - even if one were to get confused, the other could lead them in the right direction if they got lost again. When she hears the voices, Thida has to keep herself from laughing.

These jerks are in for one heck of a trick!]

Pssst! Maika - use th' Topsy Turvy on 'em!

[There's a definite shift in the atmosphere, and then-]

AAAUGH! BRO! BRO, WHY'S MY RATTATA ON THE CEILING YO??

THIS SHIZZNIT IS WIGGITY WIGGITY WHACK!!

[Envy has to hold a hand over his mouth to keep from laughing and ruining the effect. This kid's got some good ideas!]

[As soon as he's got his voice under control, though, he squares his shoulders and cups his hands around his mouth to let out in his most booming, terrifying voice:]

BEGONE! BEFORE THESE SPIRITS DRAG YOU DOWN INTO HELLLLL!

[There's a moment of silence, before:]

BRO! BRO DID YOU HEAR THAT?!

Don't lose it, bro! We gotta keep our cool for the boss! Someone's just trying to rattle our bones!

[The apparently bolder Skull starts shuffling in their direction.]

[Thida has to try not to laugh herself - the move was one Maika had recently learned, and she loved to see it flip-flop everything in battle. To just hear the effects, however, was way too hilarious.

When she hears one of the grunts coming, Thida steps forward, stretching out her mop in the direction of their footsteps. Letting the yarny bit dangle and wiggle, she makes some moaning sounds, somewhat bubbly to the ear, but it adds to the ghoulish tone.]

EUGH! IT'S ON ME! DAWG, IT'S ON ME!! BRO YOU GOTTA HELP, IT'S GONNA EAT MY BRAINS!!!!

[At hearing that, the other one shrieks in terror.]

[Envy nearly doubles over trying to be quiet, and gives the kid a shaky thumbs up of approval. Not bad at all!]

I TOOOLLLDDD YOOOOU! I'VE COME TO TAKE YOUR SOOOOULS!

[After that addition, he turns in the other direction and waves one hand up in the air. The two unfortunate Skulls can't see it, but the Zoroark in charge of this whole illusion sure can. And Lilith knows just what that signal means. IT'S TIME TO GET REAL IN HERE.]

[And Thida's mop provides the perfect base for the real showstopper. A new illusion springs up around it, the image of an immense, zombified Carnivine, with the mop's strands becoming a mess of thorny green vines that seem to start reaching out to grab at the Skulls. The illusion's mouth opens wide, wider than seems possible, a pit of ghostly fire visible in its throat--]

[They scream louder than ever before and finally take off back towards the building's exit. And probably all the way across the ocean to Alola at the speed they're running.]

THIS AIN'T WORTH I-I-IT!!

[Once they're gone, Envy finally does start laughing as the whole illusion fades away, leaving the hall completely normal again.]

HAHAHA-nice work, kid!

[It's a good thing Thida's not facing that illusion head-on. She'd scream if she saw that thing coming at her. To see it from the back, though, is still incredibly impressive. Her jaw drops and her eyes widen ridiculously, and she nearly drops the mop - but thankfully she's got it in place long enough for it to spook the grunts right out of the building.

The way she and her Inkay look around the hallway when the illusion disappears is absolutely comical.]
