HALLOWEEN 2016: Team Skull Log

Summary: Team Skull's planned a full-fledged assault on Goldenrod; join up with a team and take them down!

Log:

It's been three days since Guzma's made his first announcement over the radio, but try as the police might, no one's been able to get to him since; after making his call to arms, asking all available Skulls to come to Goldenrod to have some fun, he seems to have completely dropped off without a trace. But Candela isn't concerned much about that. She's been at this for long enough to know the song and dance; this is a pivotal spot, after all, and Guzma will be back here before long, probably with more than enough cronies to go around. When that happens, they'll head him off at the pass. Easy as that. He's gotta get orders out to the people outside, after all, and the only place he can do that is here.

He won't take it over a second time. Team Valor will make sure of that.

Meanwhile, outside the tower, Blanche would like to think she has a bit more control of the situation. Candela had been so gung-ho on kicking Guzma's ass in the tower that Blanche almost didn't have the heart to tell her that there was probably an ambush waiting in there for her. ...Rather, she tried, but Candela has a way of being far too stubborn for her own good...in any case, if she needs backup, she's out here to provide it, but if there are going to be riots and messes in the streets, its better to be out here where the damage is going to be at its highest, just to stop it before it starts. Already, Team Skull is starting to come out in small hordes, and it won't be long before things start to get hectic out here. Team Mystic, though, is dedicated towards stopping this before it gets a chance to start. ...But perhaps they'd be taken a bit more seriously if Candela and Spark hadn't forced her to dress up for Halloween--

Speaking of Spark, of course, Team Instinct's leader seems to have his priorities in order; if there are going to be riots and debris in the streets, some of the wild Pokemon in the area might just get hurt, and that will never do! So Spark has taken it on himself to lead a search-and-rescue charge with Team Instinct--any stray Pokemon in the Goldenrod area should be either captured or brought straight to a Pokemon Center ASAP! The goal is not to leave even one behind! ...Of course, Team Skull is a problem, too, but won't somebody think of the Pokemon--

You're free to NPC any Team Skull grunts and Pokemon interactions yourselves, but Team Valor will have the chance to battle Guzma, and Team Mystic will have the chance to battle Plumeria! Please be patient with responses in these threads; if the boss's Pokemon start to become too weak, they'll end up making a tactical retreat!

One last thing: you're all encouraged to have your character in costume for an event like this, and your team leaders will be dressed in costume, too! If three or more characters in costume participate in a thread together, a miracle might occur, and the Legendary Bird corresponding with your team has a chance to appear at your discretion! This applies in battles with Guzma and Plumeria, as well!

[It's so tiny -- He idly wonders what it can do, it's so small. But, then again, so is his Aron. And Kuro is tough as the metal of his shell.]

[His second thought proves more accurate, as the smokescreen throws the Skulls into disarray. Angry disarray. With shouting curses and pokemon of their own emerging.]

Kuro! Go help Juniper!

[True to his usual habit, the Aron charges out from the crowd of kids, headbutting the nearest enemy pokemon.]

[For something so small, Juniper can pack a serious punch. And it looks like Kuro similarly skilled at making people regret potentially underestimating him due to his size.]

Make sure Kuro doesn't accidentally touch her. She is poisonous.

[Armin still has an antidote or two knocking around in his bag, but it is better to avoid it if they can.]

Juniper, use your feint attack.

You heard him, Kuro! Use that protect skill you learned, just in case.

[He keeps his voice relatively calm, despite the situation. And despite calling out to his pokemon. The little Aron glows briefly, in response, before following up that Feint with a squeaky ROAR.]

[Really, it's a good thing Shiro can stay calm. The last thing they need is all these kids growing panicked. They are already somewhat nervous and uncertain --who can blame them with all this nonsense going around-- and Armin for one isn't sure if he could actually handle half a school class worth of panicking kids.

Armin calls out a few more commands to Juniper, but luckily, these two Skulls seem about as skilled at pokemon training as the rest of them. Armin is starting to get the feeling they spend a lot more time coming up with puns than they do battling their pokemon.]

We should try and get a move on as quick as we can. Juniper is growing tired and don't want to wait and see if they have any back-up.

[If they do, they can deal with that after they get these kids to safety. It's important to prioritise.]

[Armin is right -- they need to get out of here. But some of the kids don't look like they want to budge. A couple of them are holding onto each other with wide eyes. He's fairly sure he can only carry one of them without problem --]

No, we don't...

[How are they going to do this?]

[He glances up at a sudden flash of light. A scuffle of feet barreling back to them though the smokescreen as the Skulls retreat. And...]

[And that's not Kuro. Is it? It's a lot bigger, for one thing. But it still has those distinctive spots, and still looks up at him with those same blue eyes--]

Kuro? [The Lairon grumbles, wagging what probably was a tail.] Okay then! Pick up some of the kids, and let's go!

[He'll wonder what the hell just happened later.]

Oh, he evolved!

[Thank you, captain obvious.

Still, this is not the time to pay attention to that. Normally, Armin would be whipping his pokegear out to look up information on this new form, but right now there are more important things that need to be handled first.

Juniper adds a little more smoke to the smoke screen, before she returns, scrambling up onto Armin's shoulder again. She looks tired, her fins drooping.]

Thank you, Juniper. You'll be able to rest soon, I promise.

[Armin helps some of the more frightened children onto Kuro's back.]

I think that's as many as he can carry.

[Time to hoof it!]

That's convenient.

[Not that he's going to complain, honestly. Kuro just looks pleased with himself. Maybe the pokemon was just waiting for the best time. Which wouldn't really surprise Shiro at this point.]

[He'll help load the kids up, looking toward Kuro for confirmation -- yes he's fine, yes he's got this, don't worry!]

All right, let's get moving! The pokemon center shouldn't be too far!

[Very convenient, but you know what they say about gift horses.

Armin nods, tightening his hold on the small and slightly sticky --why are small kids always sticky-- hand he is holding.]

Right behind you.

[Shiro seems to have the sense of a natural leader about him. In any case, Armin is happy to follow him. He's a good strategist maybe, but a lousy leader.]

[Nope, it's best not to think too hard. Just accept it, and get moving. Kuro seems eager to do so, and he's learned to trust the pokemon by now.]

[He nods -- sorry, Armin, small hands are always sticky, it's best not to question it, either -- and takes the lead. Kuro trundling along behind him like a living tank. They should make fairly good time, if nothing else runs across their path.]

How's your Juniper?

[Armin follows, trying to make certain none of the kids end up trailing behind.]

I think she'll be fine as long as she gets a chance to rest soon. And she deserves it. She worked incredibly hard.

[She deserves all the spoiling Armin will be able to pile on her in the coming few days.]

[Most of them seem like they're keeping up all right. Those who aren't riding, or being hand-held or carried, have their hands on the Lairon. It's looking a lot more successful than a minute ago.]

I think everyone deserves one after this.

[Since a a lot of these kids were crying a minute ago and Armin thought fast enough to help back there.]

Thankfully, they've mostly just been troublesome up until now.

[All things considered, Armin has a feeling these guys could've been a lot worse.]

They don't really seem all that organised. Or smart.

Even just 'troublesome' can turn into a big problem. Especially if there's a lot of them.

[And a lack of organization can easily mean they're going to turn to rougher methods. Or just straight up property destruction.]

The center should be at the end of the road.
