[The feed opens on Joey and a Bisharp standing in front of a slot machine. Both wear ecstatic expressions as the machine dispenses coin-after-coin, and Joey holds a confused looking Dratini above his head as he cheers. Noise from the other machines and patrons occasionally cuts through the pair's exultation, but the majority of sound pouring through the feed comes from their cheers.]

Yo we did it! We made out like bandits!

[Joey thrusts the Dratini forward for the camera to see.]

Me and Hermos here have been killin' it on da slots, so dis lil' jackpot here marks twelve and a half grand we've managed to carve out! We got ourselves a big ol' chunk'a change and scored dis' heckin' baloon animal-lookin' Pokémon too! There's no stoppin' da wheels on da Joey Train!

[Radley chuckles.]

More like your Pokemon team, but the same principle, true.

I mean yeah d'ey're on my team, but I still think it's fair ta call it a deck. I'm only allowed six at a time, just like with ya hand in Duel Monstahs, and all the othahs are kept in a computah until I need to draw dem out. Dat's just like dat new Duel Disk Kaiba had, but just for Pokémon!

[Radley is amused, but hopes Joey treats the Pokemon like real animals.]

Hmm. Those are good points. I don't think I could ever think of my Pokemon as a deck, though. They're more like my kids.

["Eevee!" Evie chirps. She wants to say Hi to the new Pokemon.]

But da monstahs in your deck are like ya kids.

[Joey's face wears a serious expression, and he places one of his hands atop his belt-pouch.]

Red-Eyes, Baby Dragon, Time Wizahd, Flame Swordsman, Axe Raidah... all those guys are my boys. Dat's why I gotta get all der' Pokémon versions fightin'-fit, cuz we been troo too many adventahs togedda ta let dis' funky new world stop us!

[Radley smiles. This is good then.]

Okay. Yeah, you've got the right idea. I'm sure you and your Pokemon will do great things together.

Me and da' gang are goin' straight to da top. No more runner-up for dis guy!

[He points at himself with his thumb.]

I resolved myself to be a pro duelist now dat I'm done with school, so dis new world is just da perfect test ta see if I got what it takes to adapt ta whatevah changes are gonna come to da game'a Duel Monstahs. If I can't cut it here, den I might as well just pack it in.

[He looks down solemnly for a moment before a smile works its way across his face and he returns his gaze to the camera.]

Joey Wheeler ain't no quittah doe, so der's only one way ta go and dat's ta win. Me and da guys are gonna get strongah and strongah, and we'll be punchin' it out in da big leagues'a dis world in no time!

[Radley smiles. From news reports in his time, he knows Joey makes it. He's not sure if he should reveal that.]

Your way of looking at the world is quite inspirational.

So, how is your new Pokemon friend? I think Evie wants to say Hi.

["Eevee-vee!" Evie exclaims with wagging tail to the Dratini.]

We've never seen a Dratini before.

I'm glad ya think so!

[Joey grins widely.]

Oh hey! Dat's one of them little guys with all da evolutions right? What a cutie!

[He draws closer to the camera with Dratini.]

He seems pretty chill all things considah'd. I'll have'ta get him locked-on to da big shoes he's gonna grow ta fill, but I don't doubt for a second dat he'll be ready to take it on.

Yeah, she sure is.

[Radley smiles. Several more Eevees pop up.]

I love them.

[The influx of Evee catches Joey's attention, stopping him before he can start on a speech about making Pokémon into Duel Monsters and turning his attention to the screen of the Pokégear.]

Oh woah! Der's more'a dem!

[Joey holds out his arm towards the camera so Dratini can slide down and get a closer look.]

Lookit' all dem fluffy thing's Baby Dragon! You sure got a lot of dese guys. You stahtin one'a dem cat cafe things but for Evee?

[The Eevees chorus in unison.]

Yeah, actually! People can interact with them and I can see if they'd make good Eevee parents. I breed Eevees and sell a lot of the eggs.

Oh hey! I actually just met anotha' breedah, so I actually know whatcha talkin' about! Dat's really cool man! You must have a whole mess'a da little guys if you're able to help dem find families.

[Radley smiles.]

Pretty much! I only sell eggs, though. If they hatch, they're staying.

Dat's... dat's gotta be a pretty heavy undahtakin',cuz takin' care'a one pet is already demandin' so I can only imagine what havin' a buncha dem is like. You got, like, land or somethin' for an Evee Ranch?

Thankfully, yes, I got a good deal on some property. They love to play in the grass.

["Eevee!" Evie chirps.]

[[My apologies for the delay in tags. I've been working to get the Journal Pages for Lucius and Joey actually presentable and that's been far more demanding than I expected. For Lucius at least, the end is in sight though so his Journal is finally looking good.]]

Dang dood.

[Joey scratches at the back of his head.]

You gotta be doin' pretty good for yaself if you got a spot big enough for you and all dem' Evees. Good on ya! I'm shootin' for da stahs here myself, so I can only hope ta' do as good as you've done.

((That's alright. I have no coding skills, but I am very impressed seeing the talents of those who do! That's awesome.))

[Radley smiles, petting his Pokemon.]

You know it! I'm gonna be all done explorin' Johto by Christmas, and den it's on ta Kanto! Lookin' at da map it looks like I'm gonna have all da warp pads by da end'a February, and den it's on to da Gyms!

[Radley is amused but intrigued at Joey's plans.]

Half of it's gonna be in caves, so weatha won't be much of an issue. First-half is supposed'ta be smooth sailin anyhow so should be easy breezy!

[Joey snaps a thumbs-up.]

Only a couple'a towns, a lake, and den dis big friggin' ice cave. Dat's da part I'm da most worried about. Caves suck ta begin with, so an ice cave's gonna be da worst.

[Radley smirks darkly.]

Caves are not my favorite places either. The ice cave, though, I've meant to see if there might be any Glaceons hanging out there. Someone told me there are some sometimes.

[He's not sure he'll ever really get out there, but it's a thought.]

[Joey scratches at his chin and ponders.]

Would... would ya want me to try and grab one for ya? I'm going troo der' anyways, so it wouldn't be too hard.

[Radley smiles, touched.]

Really? That's really kind of you. I don't know if it's true that there's Glaceons there, but if there are, I'd definitely like one.

[Suddenly he wonders if people can get Pokemon for others. Will the Pokemon listen to someone who didn't catch them?]

[Joey looks through his bag at a variety of Pokéballs.]

I can even set aside a ball for ya! What kind you want it caught in? Dependin' on what kinda ball you want I can snag it n' you can have it match ya squad!

Oh, I'm fine with anything. Mostly I just use the regular kind.

[He hadn't found any need for other kinds, since the Pokemon wanted to go with him and he didn't battle them first.]
