[The feed opens on Joey and a Bisharp standing in front of a slot machine. Both wear ecstatic expressions as the machine dispenses coin-after-coin, and Joey holds a confused looking Dratini above his head as he cheers. Noise from the other machines and patrons occasionally cuts through the pair's exultation, but the majority of sound pouring through the feed comes from their cheers.]

Yo we did it! We made out like bandits!

[Joey thrusts the Dratini forward for the camera to see.]

Me and Hermos here have been killin' it on da slots, so dis lil' jackpot here marks twelve and a half grand we've managed to carve out! We got ourselves a big ol' chunk'a change and scored dis' heckin' baloon animal-lookin' Pokémon too! There's no stoppin' da wheels on da Joey Train!

[Alright. So last weekend did happen. Because there's Joey, being.... Joey. Marik's never been to the Game Corner himself but he can only assume the odds of actually winning are slim to none.

That's not... that's not a balloon animal. That's a Dratini. Those are the quintessential dragon-type pokémon.

Yeah no kiddin'. He's gonna grow up all da way into Hundred Dragon so I know he's a friggin' Pokémon ya nut. But lookit' him right now.

[He gives the little tube of Pokémon a wiggle.]

He looks just like a balloon!

We stahted pretty early dis mornin', but were on a winnin' streak so we just kept it rollin'! I'm sure happy Hermos evolved, cuz he's a whiz at da slots.

[Joey turns towards his Bisharp.]

I find 'em pretty borin' myself, so I always sit next to other playahs, but the guy I normally been playin' with wasn't there today. Meant Hermos got'ta pick up da slack doe, and boy oh boy did he knock it outta da park!

[Joey produces two cards from a pouch on his belt, one showing a large crocodilian creature and another showing a large black dragon, and shows them to the camera.]

You just gotta get a feelin' for da machines is all. Jackpots ain't dat hard ta hit, and Hermos practically has da magic hands when it comes to da slots!

[Granted, Hermos was playing on a machine with better odds, but neither he nor Joey have the slightest clue that was the case so it must've just been a streak of great luck.]

Dey' only pay out tree-hundred at a time doe' so it can take a bit if ya' tryin' for da big prizes. Payouts still hundred ta' one doe', so dems some odds I'm happy ta tangle wit'. We made out like a bandit, so it should be actual hotels for dis' guy from now on!

[You know what, she's actually just slowly blinking in utter confusion at this scene that just unfolded on her screen. It's all so bright and loud and how can people stand it? Luckily it doesn't take her too long to finally respond, a gastly just seeming to watch from over her shoulder. It's fine, really.]

Should you... be holding that creature like that? [Look, she can't not be concerned about the Pokemon and completely sidestepping everything else in this scene. It's easier to handle this way, clearly.]

What, dis little guy?! Oh I'm sure he's fine. Feels kinda' like a big cucumber cuz he's real' round and cool to da touch, but he's got muscles too so he ain't gonna fall or nothing. He's gonna grow into a big touch dragon soon doe, so he's got big shoes to fill!

[Joey, are you sure that's a dragon? That looks more like a snake to her, if she had to be honest. But you know what, it... doesn't... seem to be in any particular kind of distress that she can tell, anyway.]

To be honest, he looks more like a snake than a dragon to me? And what shoes does he have to fill of some other kind of dragon? I've heard there's multiple types in this place, but I haven't really seen any beyond one. [Which King probably doesn't count in most places for a dragon, either, when she thinks about it.]

It's a decent chunka coins ta be sure, but with da winnin' streak Hermos and I was on dat was nothin'! We dropped da 2100 coins for him and and still got a little over ten grand left. Ol' Joey's in da money!

[Joey holds the Dratini out towards the camera.]

'Dis little guy's just fine. All da lights and sounds might be a bit much but he picks up on da vibe, and da vibe is dat he's a special lil' guy!

[He looks down towards the deluge of coins.]

Besides... dis is da only way ta keep him from eatin' or gettin' whacked by all coins.

Gonna take just as much patience to train, but if you can power through it, you'll get a serious powerhouse out of it. Dragonite's no slouch when it comes to power and versatility.

[Joey lowers the Dratini onto his shoulders so he can use his arms. The little dragon still looks a bit alarmed by the lights and sounds of the Game Corner, but snuggles into his collar much better than it did held aloft.]

I'm lookin forward to training da little guy! I been lookin' through da Pokédex and saw he grows real big! When I saw him I knew, doe', dat he was exactly what I needed on da team.

[Joey reaches into a pouch and his belt, producing a trading card and showing it to the camera.]

Dis here's "Hundred Dragon". While not as strong as da "Thousand Dragon" he can grow into, da fact dat dis little guy turns into da hard-hittin' battlebud I know and love is fantastic news!

Guess it's not that big of a stretch, though. I've met people who came from worlds that had Pokemon video games. Monster cards are pretty tame by comparison.
