4th Match // [video / action] Route 38 (November 1st)

[Today's video is focused on a Blaziken - the tall bird is reclining peacefully on the ground not too far from what seems to be a road, head propped on one hand-like claw, and very patiently tolerating a small yellow Charmander using it as a living climbing structure.

The Blaziken only moves when the Charmander starts to wobble, reaching out to steady it with its free claw.

The touching scene is sadly interrupted when the guy behind the camera speaks up, his voice a grumbling yet concerned growl:]

Torch dragons are orange. Is this one sick?

[Welp, looks like it's time for another lecture from Professor Nerdlord over here.

Krieg tilts his head curiously.]

What's the difference?

[He means the difference between trainers and breeders, but, as usual, can't be arsed to clarify.]

Looks like all the Pokemon health experts responded pretty fast, huh?

[Well, since it's either that or the difference between training and breeding, he's just going to choose the least traumatizing option.]

Trainers are expected to travel, earn badges and someday defeat the Elite Four. Breeders are supposed to crossbreed various Pokémon species until they obtain the best potential child. Each duty comes with perks, whether they involve eggs or money.

DOES HE HAVE A FEVER?

And kick lots of bad butts too right?

[That and 14 but might as well be 13 year old refuses to curse]

And I'm sure he'll turn out to be one super handsome Pokemon one day too!

[Speaking of, there is now a small Charmander face peeking in at the bottom of the video feed...looks like somebody's crawled into Krieg's lap to see who he's talking to.]

[Krieg is not the best person to tell her not to stick her head into the volcano...he'd honestly be right there next to her, also sticking his head in the volcano.]

Trainers get money, breeders get eggs?

[Okay, that makes sense. He guesses that also means that he's a "trainer"...which is the better deal as far as he's concerned. Eggs are great but money is even better.]

What's an Elite Four?

[ Oh you know. Shopping at Hot Topic. Writing poetry. The usual. ]

[And, well, good. Blitz had needed to lose. He had been growing severely overconfident. It was not a good thing.]

[There might be no fee for healing or weapons to buy, but having the means of feeding a literal army of hungry critters takes priority over acquiring more of said critters.]

They're strongest trainers is both Johto and Kanto, supposedly. They can only be challenged after earning sixteen badges and crossing Victory Road, though no one has accomplished the feat yet.

Eggs aren't at th'grocery stores?

[Even if it's a giant egg with a Pokemon in it, clearly all eggs come from the store in cities like this - that's what she's thinking, head tilted.]

That said, though, he leans in close to the camera to ask a completely non-tangential question.]

IT CLIMBS A MOUNTAIN OF CORPSES TO SIT ON ITS THRONE OF MISERY AND SUFFERING AND REJOICES AT THE PAIN SCREAMS CAUSED BY ITS PUTRESCENT FAKE ALTRUISM AND ITS BLOATED, FESTERING EGO!!

[That....actually piques his interest.]

Sounds like a challenge!

[And like something to do. Being kind of directionless for the last couple months has been fine - a nice break from the life-or-death existence on Pandora, honestly - but like any vacation, it's starting to get...stale.]

[He shakes his head.]

Don't want to eat monster eggs.

[...Which actually begs the question of, "but then what kinds of eggs does one find in a grocery store on this crazy planet?" but that is also a question for a different time. Probably.

He shrugs again before continuing:]
