4th Match // [video / action] Route 38 (November 1st)

[Today's video is focused on a Blaziken - the tall bird is reclining peacefully on the ground not too far from what seems to be a road, head propped on one hand-like claw, and very patiently tolerating a small yellow Charmander using it as a living climbing structure.

The Blaziken only moves when the Charmander starts to wobble, reaching out to steady it with its free claw.

The touching scene is sadly interrupted when the guy behind the camera speaks up, his voice a grumbling yet concerned growl:]

Torch dragons are orange. Is this one sick?

[Torch Dragon agrees - or seems to, anyway - and presses his nose right up against the 'Gear's screen.]

Mnahahahaha! It's gonna be bigger than Murder Chicken!

[Or, well, heavier, anyway. The two will actually be about the same size otherwise, but, details.]

All of yours have teeth.

[Or claws, or sharp edges...what are you talking about, Athena?]

No problem! Not telling is easy!

[Mostly because the squid is not anywhere nearby to tell to.]

How long will it take?

[Torch Dragon blinks when he notices he's been noticed, and ducks his head down to hide behind Krieg's shoulder.]

Mnahaha! Then come find us in the tiny town with the burned tower!

[He's definitely down for a battle.]

Mngh...If you want a story, talk to Shield Lady.

[Athena's great at telling stories! Krieg, not so much.]

[Krieg, pls, you're talking to a kid, here...]

[Krieg tilts his head to one side curiously as he thinks about that, though he may be difficult to see with the Charmander face still pressed up against the 'Gear.]

D'you fight a lot?

[Oh, yeah, he keeps forgetting that "murder" really isn't a thing that happens in this place. Aggressive violence is just as good, though, as far as he's concerned!]

Mnahahaha! Sounds like Murder Chicken!

[That'd be Krieg's Blaziken, who also is not actually cut out for murder, despite his name.]

[That...seems like a weird thing to thank someone for? But whatever, he can roll with it.

He picks Torch Dragon up with one big hand and settles the little guy in his lap so that they can both look at his 'Gear while he chats.]

Krieg!

[He jerks his chin upward in a sharp, short motion as he introduces himself.]

And that's Murder Chicken.

[Torch Dragon's patient Blaziken jungle gym is now peeking into the feed behind his trainer's shoulder to say hello, which he does with a loud squawk.]

My wife. My wife's past self, from before the wedding.

[The detail is somewhat important.]

We come from seventeen years apart, but there are have been larger time disrepancies between people from the same worlds before. We manage.

[She pauses to give that a decent amount of thought, looking up as she does the math in her head. Budgeting is actually really easy for this kid.]

[In which, Mabel simply raises an eyebrow at him]

Well, I got free time. I wouldn't mind you telling me a story!

[Pause] ...Jjjuuusssttt minus all those bad words though.

[On the one hand, Armin certainly doesn't begrudge Jean a stronger pokemon. He just... wishes a stronger Blitz didn't come with the ability to actually explode. As if he wasn't troublesome enough yet.]

[He squints as he tries to process that bit of information, rolling it around in his head for a few moments before pulling his face away to a more comfortable distance, and declaring:]

Sounds confusing.

[You'll probably meet him one day, Minato. Maybe.

And, in response to Minato's question, Krieg nods his head enthusiastically.]

Yes yes yes! Just got told, it's not sick, just raaaaare!
