4th Match // [video / action] Route 38 (November 1st)

[Today's video is focused on a Blaziken - the tall bird is reclining peacefully on the ground not too far from what seems to be a road, head propped on one hand-like claw, and very patiently tolerating a small yellow Charmander using it as a living climbing structure.

The Blaziken only moves when the Charmander starts to wobble, reaching out to steady it with its free claw.

The touching scene is sadly interrupted when the guy behind the camera speaks up, his voice a grumbling yet concerned growl:]

Torch dragons are orange. Is this one sick?

Oh, congratulations on your new Charmander!

[It's almost like she's totally ignoring Krieg's initial question because it's silly and really at this point it's probably been answered a hundred times over.]

[Botan is one smart cookie.]

It's a good little torch dragon!

[It's pretty clear in the tone of his voice that he couldn't be happier with his new little buddy. And, as if on cue, a little yellow Charmander head peeks up over Krieg's right shoulder, and blinks bashfully at the 'Gear.]

Hi, sweetie! Don't worry, I'm only your father's trainer. [And she calls over her shoulder:] Shouen! Look, your child hatched!

[By Shouen, of course, she means the Charizard that cranes its head into the camera's view--peering at the Charmander with mild interest. He snorts, some smoke coming out in puffs. Apparently that's a form of approval.]

You'll grow up big and strong just like your dad, won't you?

[Torch Dragon's eyes get very wide when that Charizard head pokes into view, and he hides his face against Krieg's shoulder with a tiny, shy exclamation of, "Char!"]

Mnahaha! It's gonna be the strongest!

[Krieg's remark spurs another small cry from the baby Charmander - "Char! Charmander!" - clearly the little guy is in agreement, even if he's still too bashful to look up.]
