It's time for the solstice!
Who: Everyone attending the Azalea festival!
Where: Azalea town and surrounding woods
When: June 21st
Summary: Celebi's come out, so it's time to throw a party in its honor!
Log:
It's Midsummer! Traditional festivities in Azalea are all in full swing, and this year even bigger and better than ever, thanks to the influx of curious tourists and Legendary Seekers drawn by the rumors in hopes of catching a glimpse of the elusive Celebi. Everyone in Azalea is putting out their finest, and the whole town is decked out with flowers in vases and pots, colorful streamers, and bright awnings under which vendors hawk their wares.
The fun doesn't stop there, however. Those time disturbances that have been popping up all over the place? They've become at once more localized and more benign. Flowers open quickly and stay in bloom without fading, a blissful moment seems to stretch into eternity, somehow you've managed to sample the food of a dozen different booths and it still is barely mid-morning. It's like a perfect moment somehow drawn out, suspended in time to savor as long as possible. Those who have a particularly fun few minutes may even find them repeated a few times!
Which perhaps should be no surprise, given that Celebi itself has come out to play! If you're lucky and paying close attention, you might even catch a glimpse of it flitting about from one place to another throughout the town and the nearby forest. It certainly isn't shy, though it is moving quite quickly and doing anything but staying in one place. Anybody who might attempt to catch or challenge it to a battle isn’t going to get anywhere at all—and stubborn trainers might find themselves stuck in a time loop for a few hours. There's simply so much to see and do, after all! Strangely enough, if any of the Legend Seekers are around, Celebi never seems to be anywhere to be found.
Eventually, though, the long day will come to an end, and the festivities with it. By morning, all the hubbub will be gone, and Celebi with it. But not quite without a trace: anyone who came to Azalea Town to participate in the festival will find in their belongings a single fossil as a parting gift from the Time Travel Pokémon.

"A sucker? Where I come from you thank someone for giving you information." He's grinning now, because sure anyone watching the display might assume he meant the Gear scan - and while that was definitely helpful - there would be other opportunities later, he wasn't exactly desperate. Ed was looking for more than that though, he was looking for the type of person these pokemon belonged to, and although he had been patient enough to wait and confirm his suspicions that both pokemon were going to go to Vanitas... Well. Vanitas came to him, instead.
On one hand, something inside him bristles at the idea that this guy takes him for an idiot. He hates for anyone to think he's stupid, after all. On the other, he's fairly new here and he knows acting cocky can get him in over his head, better to look gullible than let on that he suspects these two are up to something bigger and he figures that their trainer is the one behind it.

"They didn't take too much did they? I guess I could buy you another one to repay you," he continues, waving his hand in a nonchalant manner. "Or something else. Whatever makes up for their mooching."
At his side, Flood and Shadow giggle up a storm, both finished with their respective bits of the treats they'd gotten.

Besides, more than that he wanted to know what kind of trainer these two had. Definitely not the most straight forward, insulting him one moment and offering to repay him the next - but Ed was patient. He'd figure this guy out eventually as long as he kept his cool.
"I take it you're not a local."

"What? Scanning them?" Vanitas drawled, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. This time. "Whatever. If that's what floats your boat, I guess."
You can try but Vanitas isn't exactly your normal young man. So don't let yourself get too drawn into his crazy trying to figure him out, Ed. It may not go over well for you in the long run.
Said young man rolls his eyes this time but he's grinning again as Flood drifts back over to Ed to start circling him and fussing at his hair. Long hair is for girls!!
"And neither are you. Funny how that seems to be a pretty common thing around here."

Most people in Ed's life are the farthest thing from normal, especially the ones he spends any time trying to figure out. It'll be just like old times, and at this point anything that resembles normalcy might be a relief.
Ed dodges the hair touching, quirking a brow at her before looking back to Vanitas curiously. "It's definitely a theme. The natives here aren't... Quite the same, it's kind of disturbing how easy it is to work out who's who."

"They're predictable. Work on a script?" Vanitas offered, allowing his Phantump to settle on his shoulder. "I almost feel bad for them." Keyword almost. "Sometimes I wonder if they're just drones."
They weren't, and he knew that, but it was still strange. Not even the idiots he'd dealt with back home were as predictable as the people here. And easy to upset. God forbid he break their system~
