[Newt's second video to the feed is a lot different then her first. She's smiling for one thing. She also has two new pokemon next to her, a Cubone and and Absol. They're both very young and sticking very close to Newt. She waves at the camera. A little nervous still, but smiling.]

I've got two new pokemon now. This is Hudson

[She points the camera to the Cubone leaning against her. Not looking at the camera]

And this is Vasquez.

[A quick point to the Absol who is somehow glaring at the screen.]

They're both a little shy but that's okay. We're family now. Thank you Walter. I promise I'll take good care of them! I told Feathers to say hello to you for me when he left, too.

Um, I do have a question though. How do people decide what to name their pokemon? I named my two new ones after people who are ....gone now. I don't have that many names like that left  that I want to use....so it's going to be harder to pick ones that fit them.

And....I'm not really good at picking names and I'll have to do that in the future...what do you guys do?

I name them after things I know. Things I like. Sometimes I have to get creative when I run out of ideas so I flip through stuff on my 'gear until I find something that sounds good.

Naming stuff isn't my strong suit either.

We have these creatures where I come from called Unversed and I named most of my Pokemon after the different kinds of Unversed at first.

Braig and Nort aren't though. They're named after people.

I have trouble naming Pokemon as well...many I have named after virtues. And some I named after stars. I didn't name Feathers. He had belonged to a friend of mine who named him.

I don't know the names of stars. They're mostly numbers and letters back home. Even the moon I lived on was a bunch of numbers and letters till they renamed it.

What are virtues?

Virtues are things that are important. Usually abstract things, like a quality someone might have or a concept. I named my first Pokemon Assumption; it means to take power and responsibility. [ Speaking of; Assumption appeared and gave a cheerful hello, waving his bone to Newt and her Pokemon. ]

Some stars are named after the constellations they are in. Like Aquarii, for stars that are found in Aquarius. But they also have numbers after them, to tell them apart.

I usually name my Pokémon after concepts from my world. Places, spells... but mostly people I love and friends I've met during my journeys, much like you've named Hudson and Vasquez. Is there a town or an object from home you remember fondly?

We only had one place on the moon I grew up on. The colony and ....I don't want to name any of them after that place. ....bad things happened there.

....I named my second pokemon after my doll, Casey. I liked her.

It's best not to give them a name attached to unpleasant memories, yes. They deserve better than that.

Can be different. But, also sounds. Stuff from home's good, too, though. Judd is Judd 'cause that's th'only cat back home. Poko's Poko 'cause of..."p" in "Tepig". 'S okay t'be different.

I know some parts of planet or moon names but most of them are just numbers and letters, like the stars. They're hard to remember. They only get real names when people live on them and then name them with real names, I think.

Names should tell you something about whoever they belong to. The more specific, the better!

For example, my Kangaskhan's name is Mama, because she's a mama. And her baby's name is Baby.

But Baby is going to need a new name, because she can fight, and actual babies can't fight.

So I'm thinking that her new name will be something like Annihilator.

Well, there's other words that mean 'Mama' too, you know!

I didn't name her Mommy because I already had one mommy and that was her name.

So if I get another, I'll just have to find a new way of saying it.

Depends, really. Sometimes I name them after the kind they are, or something. Like I call my Whooper Whoop-Whoop. Or I'll use something from the old language the Water Tribe used. Like Iqniq and Tunna and Orki. Iqniq means fire, and he's a fire type. Tunna and Orki are chubby, so their names mean 'Chubby' and 'Blubber'.
