Fraggle Rock

[soupguy]

Huh?

[Boober peers around one of the tall, almost crystal-looking structures further out from the pond, checking to see the source of the drumming. He's definitely startled on seeing Gorgug, he looks very intimidating! But he also seems to be just enjoying the music, so - still mostly ducked behind the Doozer tower - Boober clears his throat before speaking up.]

Hello...?

[georgug]

[ Gorgug's getting pretty into his air drumming at this point, and only rolls an 8 Perception to notice he's no longer alone. Thankfully, his Thwackey rolled a 14 and noticed the small stranger right away, stopping in its drumming to give Gorgug a nudge with one of its sticks. ]

Huh, wha—? [ He looks up, finally. ] Oh. Uh... Hi.

[soupguy]

[In stark contrast to this guy's appearance, that greeting is perhaps the most non-threatening thing Boober has experienced in a good while. So he steps out into the open and gives a small wave.]

The drumming sounded nice. There's usually always someone playing music here, so that was... That was good to hear.

[georgug]

[ Once the guy steps out and Gorgug can get a better look at him, his eyebrows raise a little bit, because he's not entirely sure what he's looking at. The guy kind of looks like a goblin, but shrunk down and with the edges rounded out a little bit. ]

Oh, uh. Thanks. The vibe of the place was just kind of nice and chill. I just sort of... spaced out.

[ Which is a little embarrassing, but he has a feeling that Fig would've done the same thing, so he's not totally ashamed of it. ]

Are you from around here?

[soupguy]

[Boober nods as he glances around, a faint smile on his face.]

Yeah, this is my home. Well... One of my homes, now, I suppose. [He looks back with a one-shouldered shrug.] This is Fraggle Rock, and I'm Boober. Normally, there'd be a lot more Fraggles here to greet you, but...

[georgug]

Nice to meet you, Boober. I'm Gorgug.

[ He looks around the cavern, smiling. It really is a beautiful spot, and he can understand why people would want to call it home. In a way, it reminds him a bit of his parents' tree. Both in that it feels really welcoming, and that it's just a bit too small for him. ]

More Fraggles... Is that your family?

[ He's not sure if "Fraggle" is Boober's last name, or the name for his kind of offshoot goblin species. ]

[soupguy]

Gorgug?

[Unfortunately, the question will have to wait, because that is a name Boober has heard before.]

Do- Do you know someone named Riz?

[georgug]

[ The look of surprise and recognition on Gorgug's face is probably answer enough. ]

Riz is here?

[soupguy]

He is! Yeah, I've heard about you and his other friends... Oh, he's going to be so happy to see you!

[georgug]

[ Gorgug smiles. He was beginning to worry that he was completely separated from the rest of the party.

But that begs the question... ]

I don't know how we got separated. I was with him right before I showed up here. And then I was alone.

[soupguy]

This place does that. It isn't fair, but it takes you away from your home and everyone in it. I don't know why...

But Riz is here, and we should find him.

[georgug]

[ Riz frowns. He doesn't like the sound of that. But if Riz is here, they should definitely find him, so that the two of them can start working on finding a way home. Between Riz's detective skills, and Gorgug's tinkering... Maybe there's a way. ]

Do you have a crystal? Mine doesn't work here.

[soupguy]

A crystal...? There might be some along the rocks, but why?

[georgug]

Oh, no, I mean, like... To contact Riz.

[ The rest of this world looked so much like Solace, he would have thought they had crystal technology. But maybe they don't have that stuff in Fraggle Rock. ]

[soupguy]

With a crystal? Well, here we'd use the Pokegear, but I don't have mine with me. I can't really carry it around so easily like this...

[georgug]

Oh yeah. I guess you are kind of... small.

[ Is that offensive to say? Quick, backpedal!! ]

I mean—! There's nothing wrong with being small! My parents are small, and they're great.

[soupguy]

Oh, no-- It's okay. I like being small. It makes it easier to hide.

[georgug]

[ Gorgug can't help but smile at that. ]

No wonder you get along with Riz. He's great at hiding.

[soupguy]

Yeah, he's really understood why I don't like being a Silly Creature the rest of the time-- Oh, you should know about that!

So, there are strange times, like now, where we're all ourselves again. But usually, we're humans, no matter what we're supposed to look like.

[georgug]

[ Riz frowns. ]

That's... weird and kind of racist.

[ The last time he dealt with such human-centric views was with Coach Daybreak and the Harvest Men. ]

[soupguy]

It's not good, that's for sure... Oh, and Riz talks a lot about wanting his gun back. If you have weapons too, you won't keep them.

[He glances along at the nearby Pokemon.]

The creatures here, you can make friends with them and they'll be your partners, and they can help keep you safe.

[georgug]

Oh... [ Gorgug glances over to the side, where he had set down his greataxe. It hasn't just mysteriously disappeared in the time he's been sitting here, so he figures he's okay for now, at least. ]

What do you mean, like use the animals to fight people? [ He frowns, looking down at Flabebe. ] I don't know about that...

[soupguy]

No, but they do fight each other, which I wasn't sure about, either. I mean, it still makes my head hurt if I think about it a lot... But people said it's how they exercise and grow.

And then I got one of my teammates, Archie, and the lil guy gets upset with me if he doesn't get in a lot of battles. I don't know. Most of them do want to, and the ones that don't I keep out of fights. [He scoffs.] As much as I can, at least. It seems like most of the ones out in the wild are itching to fight.

SURPRISE! I haven't forgotten about 4th wall

[georgug]

[ It still doesn't seem right to Gorgug. But he turns to look at his Thwackey for confirmation. ]

Is that true? You guys like fighting?

[ He's not going to bother asking the Flabebe, because even if she said yes, he doesn't feel like he would want to let her put herself in any danger. But the Thwackey gives an enthusiastic nod, and beats the ground with his drumsticks. ]

...Huh. Well. Okay. I guess if it's consensual, then that's not a problem.
