[ So. It'd been about a week since Fordola arrived. She'd been going though the Rocket Training, keeping herself scarce. She wanted to get her footing.

It's a pity, then, that she decided that today was the day to finally travel out and try and situate herself. Because instead of the city, where she could blend in a bit better, she found herself mostly around Mt. Ember and Kindle Road - or other locations which were quite warm, even in the beginning of winter-time. She was trying her best, but.

You'll probably find her trying to fight Pokemon by herself. Not getting hit by them as one of her eyes glows red, striking them - before stepping back, letting out a huff, her bladed weapon not drawing any blood or leaving any marks on these beasts. Her Pokemon were watching, worried - or tugging your character closer. Please she should be using them??? To fight??? ]

[Okay, so Min actually had seen her post to the Rocket Network. He'd just been a little distracted by it happening at the same time his best friend showed up, and he'd been putting most of his time in trying to get to him as quickly as possible.

Except now he's back on Kindle Road, which is annoyingly close to where he'd started out from almost a week ago, and nowhere near Pallet Town. He has no idea what went wrong, but this... seems more pressing than trying to work it out. Even if he was tempted to pretend he hadn't seen this there's a Pokémon tugging him nearer.]

Uh... that's not how you should be doing that.

Harry Potter | OTA

(It has been a few weeks since he arrived in Olivine City and Harry is hoping to get settled in the city and move into the compound Hermione happens to live in with a bunch of other people.

But as he was making a left turn across the street with Lily, he trips onto a rock and he finds himself stranded among a series of ruins and he is pretty stumped as to how did it happened. Luckily he is able to cushion the fall wi5 his arms so his nose doesn’t get bruised up again. Ancient Unown script on the walls has him reminded of the script on the edge of his mirror from the Halloween Contest and it has him feeling rather scared: what he tries to read them? Could something weird happen now or could a curse would hit him hard?

As he is slowly getting up from the ground with Lily’s help, three flashes of energy came out from his rucksack to reveal Violet, Roger and Godric, looking very concerned for their Trainer and friend that they want to see if they’re okay.)

I, um, I’m definitely alright, guys. Tripped on a rock and we’re now here apparently. Oh, I do hope that I’ve enough supplies for us to rely on for who knows how long.

"Ooh. Ouch. Y' okay?" [The person who approaches is an imposingly tall redhead, who stretches a darkly tanned hand to help the young man back to his feet.] "Not too badly bruised?"

[Behind him, an even bigger arcanine looms, ears perked up curiously towards their new companion and damp black nose sniffing gently at them as he narrows the distance between them, dropping on his stomach to make himself smaller as he crawls towards the young trainer. His own trainer buries a hand in his mane when he gets a little too close, petting the giant's head and letting him flop dejectedly against his side when Esteban won't let him get any closer. The arcanine is obedient enough to stop his attempt, but any movement from the stranger or the odd pokemons with him gets him to perk up eagerly and wag his tail.]

Boober Fraggle | OTA

(ooc: Boober is back to his usual self for the weekend. As a Fraggle, he is 20 inches/just under 51 centimeters tall.)

Fraggle Rock
[Sure, he'd had a heads-up about the "weird weekends," so he waking up as a Fraggle doesn't provide the scare it might've. However, Boober hadn't expected to find himself back home... But there's no denying that this is The Great Hall. It's emotional, to be back here after so many months.

The Fraggle Pond was never his top spot, but now that it's right here he's so happy to see it, and takes a sit on the edge with his feet in the water. It's just odd that what little noise there is - music aside - comes from the waterfall and a handful of Dwebble and Nincada around.]

Well, I always wanted it to be quieter here.. [Something in the water catches his attention, and he glances down to see a Wishiwashi swimming around his feet.] Oh, hey lil guy. I'm glad there's somebody else in the pond. It's weird seeing it empty.

Four Island
[Boober is of the firm belief that not all, but most, good things are short-lived. So he's not surprised when his attempt to get to a different part of Fraggle Rock ends with him somewhere else entirely.

There is a problem, though: the Rockruff on the island see him as a toy. They probably don't mean harm, but Boober isn't planning to risk it. So, one might happen across a group of Rockruff jumping up against the fence outside the island's daycare center, trying to reach the fuzzy fellow perched atop. On spotting a passerby, Boober calls out:] Hey, hold on, I need help!

Infinity Train, Pig Baby Car
[All things considered, this feels unfair to Boober. It's a wonderful kitchen but things are massive in scale to a Fraggle, and the weird gravity is... Less than ideal. But Boober is determined to cook something; this whole adventure has been stressful and he needs to unwind! But while gathering what he needs - jumping around, propelling off walls and dodging huge utensils as they float by - he makes a truly dismaying discovery.]

How is there not any butter in this whole big kitchen?!

Casita
[When Boober winds up in the Madrigal home, the plain room without a fancy door is quickly where he settles in. It's calming in its simplicity, and he's particularly interested in the sewing machine. Maybe he's not entirely too small to use it...? But just attempting to start the machine up, his tail nearly gets caught up and threaded. The near miss results in a loud and terrified yelp echoing through Casita.]

[Ah yes, another one of those weekends. While Mando is delighted to have his guns and rocket-pack back--and he's positively bristling with guns, it's frankly ridiculous how much heat he's packing--he's not so keen on all these bizarre new locations. What if he's trying to find someone, Pokemon world? How is he supposed to zoom off with his rocket-pack when he's underground?]

[So he takes things by foot, sneaking and creeping around like a champ, until he hears a familiar voice. He doesn't immediately recognise Boober, but the voice is a dead giveaway.]

[Huh. So that's what a Fraggle looks like.]

[Mando strolls up next to Boober, not trying to be stealthy anymore, and looks over his shoulder into the water.]

I could throw you at it if you want to catch that fish.

[What? Isn't a fastball special how everyone catches fish?]

Gorgug Thistlespring | Fantasy High

Fraggle Rock

[ Gorgug isn't sure how he got here (or where here even is...), but he's pretty sure he's not going to be going anywhere any time soon. There are doors leading out of the big rocky cavern, but they're a little small and low to the ground, so the only way he's going to be getting out of here is if he gets down on all fours and crawls his way out.

Still, it's pretty chill in here, and the music is nice. So he just sits near the pool of water with his legs tucked up in front of him, drumming a rhythm on his knees while his new little buddy drums along. There's also a small flower hovering shyly beside him, with a tiny fairy type holding onto the flower's stamen.

He kind of seems to be off in his own little world, so if anyone feels like coming up and saying hi to the very tall half-orcish teen with green skin and all-black eyes with white irises, now's the time. ]

Leviathan

[ Finally, someplace that looks familiar— although Gorgug still doesn't know how he ended up back here.

He makes his way to the Gold Gardens, expecting to find a familiar face inside, but... No, it's just as deserted as everywhere else, apart from the odd looking animals roaming around. Feeling a little thirsty, Gorgug makes his way over to the bar, where there's a weird little yellow and red turtle guy standing as bartender. ]

Uh, yeah... What do you have that's nonalcoholic?

[ The Shuckle barkeep just looks a little confused, so Gorgug tries again. ]

Yeah, I mean— I want a drink but I don't want any alcohol. Do you have, like... Any mixers or anything?

[ Again, nary but a "Shuck...?" in response. Feeling like he's not going to get anywhere if he doesn't take matters into his own hands, Gorgug decides to hop over the bar (with some difficulty; he only rolled a 10 Acrobatics check) and start rifling through the various bottles himself. ]

Why non-alcoholic, may I ask? [The person questioning him is a tall drow man with a wide-brimmed, feathered hat covering a shaved head. He also has an eyepatch, a rainbow-colored cape and quite a lot of jewelry.]

[No one had warned Naeva about this, but there a sense she doesn't mind. Deep in these dark woods, the sounds of a great beast can be heard, howling in the night. If you are particularly lost, the beast will appear, and if you stop shrieking, you will find...

That's Naeva! She's just gonna lead you back to the chateau to rest. You may also instead meet her Riolu on the path, carrying a large moonflower and feeling very important. He will also help those lost find safety and shelter.]

B. Submariner
[So she doesn't know how she got here or why she's stuck on a giant manta ray underwater, but Naeva has followed her sense of smell to a certain person's room and accidentally discovered the window. Which means there is...a literal golden backed jackal sitting in the hammock with it's snout pressed to the window. A Riolu sits with her, also pressed to the window, they are going to be incredibly easy to startle.]

C. Casita
[Startled by the bright sunshine and colors when she'd been places much darker, Naeva got a little lost in the Casita. Luckily, she's managed to find her way back to the courtyard and seems to have knelt down to talk to the Rattata here. The Casita keeps trying to herd her towards Antonio's room for some reason? She's trying to figure out what's going on, but she'd welcome company. Or an arepa. Mostly company.]

It is a lovely view, is it not? [a soft voice with a lilt to it that she might remember from Halloween says from behind her. Jarlaxle's skin has taken on a more dark grey color than dark brown, with purplish undertones. His ears come to a sharp point.]

Esteban isn't quite sure how he got... here.

Lost in the strange maze of deserted hallways and light, glowing walls, the redhead paces distractedly, a melting popcicle in his dominant hand while the other is buried almost to the elbow up in his excited companion's mane. Puppy the arcanine is far too heavy to really hold back, his gargantuan height taking much of hallways spaces, but for now, the fire 'mon sees no immediate threat, and seems far more content to keep pace with his trainer as they explore these strange new grounds.

"Uh. Hello?" He calls out loudly to the emptiness, chasing a skitty out from where it had been grooming tranquilly until the behemoth of an arcanine had stepped up. Under his feet, the thrum of machinery shimmers up and the walls cast an eerie glow about him. Spooky.

All at once, the castle shifts, without brace or warning, and Esteban flails, popcicle flying from him as he yelps, hand caught into his arcanine's fur. Puppy growls, nose pinching in a snarl as he leaps, arrows out to the nearest ledge and shoves his trainer unceremoniously against it, providing what little support Esteban can get as the castle turns about them.

"What's goin' on?" The trainer calls out again, lost and very much so confused by these entire events.

..:: II - Casita ::..
There's a trumbeak on his head, and a purrloin curled on his lap.

Punk the little quilava is pawing at his leg from underneath the table, huffing fine, hot breaths that the purrloin is wickedly ignoring, tail lashing into poor little Punk's face. Too amused by the trumbeak, Esteban is missing at the hissy fight building near his ankles as he picks at the fresh bakeries laid out over the feasting table.

Sandwiches and curries and even a few pale poffins all piled into glorious platters are available, aside a jar filled with a rainbow assortment of plain poké beans. The berry juices are just a little sweet, perfect for the balmy, beaming sunny weather, framed by the enormous mountains that surround him. It's a lovely day to be out, just enjoying the sunny weather.

Delighted, Esteban doesn't need another invitation, before he bites into a sandwich, chewing gleefully and swallowing before he shares out his praises.

"Oh, 'Dians, that's good! Didja make this?" he asks his nearest companion, because he certainly didn't step into a kitchen here, so there must have been someone else at work.

..:: III - Kaiba Corporation Tower ::..
Grumpy got out of his pokeball. Grumpy got out of his pokeball.

The pancham and he are surprisingly getting along, the small cubone chittering and smashing his little bone club along to the beat of the small pancham's mischief. When Pancham is sneaking about, Grumpy is right behind it, tap-tap-tapping his little club in a soft rolling sound. Investigative combees get lured by the strange noise, only to have Pancham flying from underneath a desk, gleefully using Covet to nab a shiny doodad that the redhead has no name for, and scampering off with both it and Grumpy chattering in something Esteban can unmistakably identify as laughter.

Little gremlins.

He kinda wants that Pancham now. Grumpy is clearly enjoying the company, and he's been a bit of a grump ever since Esteban had brought him away from the mountains, simply content in breaking rocks with his little club and ignore the rest of the world. He searches his belt for a pokeball that has no registered 'mon, and waits, lurking around the corner, using the sound of his little 'mon's rattling club to know when the pancham is next going to strike.

So focused is he on the next jump, that he could not hear anyone else coming up behind him.

KC Tower

Kaiba had been very surprised to see his office resurface in this world...with the jet intact, too! He could use that to fly for a little while and give his poor Altaria a break. But for now he was searching the floors, surprised to find his employees largely replaced with Combee.

...well, Combee and a Pancham, wearing a very familiar hat and scarf. It can't be...no, that's ridiculous.

He stares, and is about to address the small creature when he notices another person already closer. He's definitely not an employee, or anyone he's seen on his travels in Johto.

"Are you sure you want that Pancham?" he asks in a whisper.

Jarlaxle Baenre | Legend of Drizzt | OTA

Azalea Town (locked to Kimmuriel)

Jarlaxle finds himself startling awake in the middle of the night, likely because he had forgot to silence his pokegear before retiring and it had made a notification sound over something. In his defense, he and Kimmuriel had only just returned to their shared lodgings after spending most of the month since Halloween traveling over various parts of Johto. They truly were very weary the night previous.

... it is odd, however, that he is able to see properly in the dark again. Jarlaxle reaches up to touch his ears... oh! He flicks a hand and a cluster of dancing lights appear. A wide smile appears upon his face and he turns to his partner in the next bed over.

"Kimmuriel!" he cries out. "We are drow once more!"

Any Route

The best part about these strange weekends, Jarlaxle has decided, is that his various toys have been returned to him and they work once more. It has been a long time since he has been able to use his long hat-feather to summon his enchanted diatryma mount. He has missed riding upon her.

So of course he is making up for lost time! And due to the odd nature of the event, geography blurs a little bit over the ride. No matter what route you are on, you may see him: a slim, tall dark elf with a shaven head, rainbow cloak, and a broad-brimmed hat, riding upon the back of a large rainbow feathered bird... but he will stop to talk to those who seem interested.

Any Harbor: The Scarlet Marpenoth

Truly, she is just as beautiful as he left her! Jarlaxle is pleased to walk through the corridors, running his long fingers along the metal walls and poke his head into the various chambers of his wonderous submersible boat.

Eventually, though, he ends up in his own stateroom, where he curls up in the hammock and sets himself to watch the ocean creatures through the magic window.

Leviathan: The Gold Gardens

Jarlaxle is very pleased to have happened upon the drinking establishment in this floating city. Indeed, it makes him slightly nostalgic for One-Eyed Jax back in Luskan. He wastes no time rummaging behind the bar to find a reasonably high-quality vintage and takes it back to a couch he spotted, sprawling out with wine glass in one hand and the bottle in another.

"I've got enough to share!" he calls over when he spots a newcomer, raising the bottle in confirmation.

You know what the biggest tipoff is that something isn't quite right here?? Oddly enough it isn't the drow, people come in all kinds of exotic appearances. It's the background music.

There's background music!

And little monsters everywhere, some not so little, that are naggingly familiar even though Tomura can't quite actually put a name to them. He himself has a little monster, apparently, a flying puffer fish of some kind that's quite content to follow him everywhere he goes. It's been pretty helpful so far, it even found him a new phone thing when he'd turned the previous one to dust, and showed him how to use it to get data on various little monsters. Some of which they had promptly demolished. Self note: do not turn the critters to particles, the puffer gets no experience that way.

It's the subtle change in the background music that alerts him to Someone Potentially More Interesting coming; did it always do that? He had no idea! But as Jarlaxle appears, astride a creature he can't pin a name to, reminding him awfully of Mr. Compress in general bearing, Shigaraki ... doesn't get out of the way. Instead he grabs his quilfish with four fingers and uses it to flag the drow down like a spiny road sign, the little fish's fins flapping in alarm.

"Hey. Hey. That thing isn't in my bestiary, what is it?"

The colorful bird he's riding, presumably. There isn't much colorful about him in return, he's all in drab colors and clothes several sizes too big.

Cadeyrn Blackthorn ♠ OC ♠ OTA

Cinders is not happy with this place.

Her little nose twitches and her brown eyes balefully regards the high shelves along the crooked libraries, dove-grey fur standing on ends. She chitters a high and lengthy strings of angry noises, and Cadeyrn can't help but agree below her, handy swanna-featherduster in hand, a white handkerchief tied over his nose but under thunder-dark eyes to keep the dust from clogging in his lungs.

They proceed well as a pair, well used to the tandem of work shared, and as Cinders sweeps her long, feathery tail across the higher, unreachable areas, Cadeyrn is in turn shifting a tall ladder just underneath her, dusting off the ancient tomes of treasures and maps long-found.

There's a sharp, angry snarl from above him, and Cadeyrn shifts to the side automatically, calling out below him a "heads up!" as his little minccino forces a broken, derelict tiny replica of a ship down, uncaring of who it might land up on. Her huffing and snarling, gritted teeth can be heard all the way below, just before the ship smashes and breaks.

Hopefully that didn't hurt anybody.

..:: II - Grandcypher - Cafe Millenia ::..
Cadeyrn rarely feels at peace with himself without the amenities that surround him. Clean, fresh surfaces. A window just cracked open to invite the fresh air in. His starter's long, slender frame tucked in between the pots of leafy green plants curling widespread leaves closer to the enchanting sunlight that makes its way inside. It's a peaceful surrounding.

Pots, pans and sieves surround him, along with fluffy white pokemons crowding his little work nook. Alcremies chirp delightedly at the work that he pours into the little bakeries, macarons and sweet creams combining to make little pokemon faces, from delightful brown bunearies to the pink jigglypuffs. While the dragalge chocolate croissants are cooling off on a plate, palm-sized litwick cakes with abundant frosting and rawstberry-flames have been set to chill in a corner, underneath the watchful garnet eyes of his serperior.

Any intruder stops all movement within the kitchen, all eyes turned to them as Cadeyrn observes them with a sharp silver gaze. A beat passes in uncomfortable silence, before a little cottonee swoons a cheerful little noise as it picks up a treat with a gentle vine, and offers it to the stranger. Cadeyrn's eyes narrow a tad, but he nods.

"Enjoy it," he invites, and turns back to the plethora of cakes and fondants that require his attentions.

..:: III - Budehuc Castle - Tablet of stars ::..
"Don't."

The stern voice is directed at a curious rockruff, sniffing about and coming too close. Behind Cadeyrn, pinned between him and the Tablet Of Stars, a long black tail with a star point taps at the grounds in its nerves, Cimmerian's piercing gold-and-red stare fixed to the little wildling until it takes the hint. The luxray's crackling fur smooths when the little dog takes that as a hint to scamper, and it turns its eyes to the next nearest threat, tension not quite gone from its limbs. It huffs through bellow-deep lungs when the person approaches.

Cadeyrn lays a hand in its mane, gently petting the tense pokemon, but doesn't direct the person away, simply raising a pitch-black eyebrow at them over knife-sharp silver eyes.

"Are you here for the view?" His voice is devoid of much emotion, but not unwelcoming, just seeing what the person is loitering around for. "Or are you here for the pokemon?"

Cimmerian's rumbling growl deepens at that, tail once more lashing at the stone. Even Cadeyrn's hand goes still in his long, night-black mane, but he doesn't glance away from the intruder.

Kimmuriel is fond of libraries, but not very fond of people. It is only blind chance that brings him in contact with what appear to be a pair who are extremely intent on cleaning, though if they are only equipped with what he can see, he is certain they will spend the whole day with little to show for it.

But that is not his concern. What is his concern is the commotion from above that sends a broken replica plummeting almost on top of him as he walks by. He supposes he could simply turn intangible to avoid it, but that is more effort than exercising one of his more minor powers.

It falls, and then stops abruptly without ever striking him. It simply hovers in the air, arrested by invisible force.

"Is this normal behaviour?" Kimmuriel says, slightly acerbic. "Or am I a fortunate recipient of some uncharacteristic unruliness?"

i. detective arriving on the scene

[You see him out of the corner of your eye--a rumpled-looking man in a shabby trench coat wandering the routes, a large Stoutland trundling after him at a slow pace. He seems mildly bewildered by everything around him, from the 'animals' to the colorful scenery to the background music playing overhead. He scratches the back of his head, doing little to smooth out his unkempt hair. There's an uneven squint to his expression, perhaps owed in part due to his glass eye. In one hand, he holds a half-smoked cigar that stinks to the high heavens.

Despite the tumult and chaos occurring around him, the man remains calm and relatively unperturbed. He places the cigar in his mouth, then pulls out a creased map he seems to have acquired at a nearby Poké Mart. His brow furrows deeply as he studies it, turning it upside down, then checking to see if other sections of the map have been folded away.]

I never heard of any of these places....

[He mutters under his breath, a distinct Brooklyn accent tinging his words. After a few more moments, he glances up, then waves to a nearby person to come closer.]

'Scuse me! I seem to have gotten lost. Erm...must've taken a wrong turn or somethin', y'know, I just get so preoccupied with my thoughts I don't realize where I'm goin'. My wife tells me if my head wasn't attached to my neck, I'd lose it. [A chuckle.] Anyways...d'you happen to know how far we are from Los Angeles?

[The Stoutland behind him sneezes.]

[Columbo stands outside of a structure, scratching his head and squinting up at it. Maybe it's something from your home. It juts out like a sore thumb along the otherwise cohesive landscape, and, judging from the way Columbo keeps tilting his head, the detective is having some difficulty wrapping his head around the construction of this.]

Huh. Now how 'bout that?

[A pause. He rubs the stubble on his face, quirking an eyebrow.]

D'you know if we're allowed to go inside?

[The nearby person in this case is by all accounts at first glance a generic lanky teenager, save the gray-blue hair. His clothes are illfitting but clean, solidly black from head to toe, with some partly worn slogan on it in bland white text. Ignore the evidence of what must be terrible allergies by all the scratches and gouges across his throat and parts of his face, they look self-inflicted.

Columbo and his stoutland are studied for a long, looong moment, the gastly bobbing at his side giving a particularly wide grin before he gives a shrug and steps closer to look at the map the man is holding.

Then reaches out to flip it upright between three careful fingers.]

American, huh? If we were where I was about an hour ago, I'd say about nine thousand kilometers.

[His voice is a dry, unpleasant rasp. Maybe he too, smokes! But at his age?? If he's twenty it'd be a shock. But for all that his tone is abrupt and bearing not exactly ... friendly, he doesn't also seem to be trying to be hostile.]

Now, who the hell knows. You been on a ten hour plane ride lately, old man? I haven't. Never been anywhere that plays background music without any speakers around either.

[His gaze shifts to the stoutland.]

...Cool dog though. Want to trade? I got a balloon without a string.

A. I’m on My Way, Driving at 90 (Network/Action on Four Island, Early Friday Morning)

[Allura has just finished her usual dawn jog on the beach with Keith- living on Four Island means the air is slightly warmer than bitterly freezing- when the news app on her Gear starts spamming notifs. That’s… never a good sign. Is it another rogue Pokémon attack, like with the Hisuian Braviary?

"Breaking news: new landmarks have appeared overnight in seemingly random locations. Buildings, large vehicles, and even whole cities and islands are suddenly dotting our maps—" As the reporter goes on, the footage flips through live footage of the various locations, and there with the caption of Viridian City… stands a deeply familiar quintet of five white towers.

At first all Allura can do is just… stare until the footage shifts. She hasn’t seen the Castle of Lions in over a year, and Romelle told her it will be destroyed in Allura’s future. She almost can’t believe it. And then it registers that there are a LOT of people crowding towards her heavily armed spaceship and she has no idea whether the doors are operational, or whether some quirk of this world will render the particle barrier or the myriad of weapons open to non-Altean control. So Allura quickly takes to the network.]

If anyone has seen this morning’s news report or is currently located in Viridian City, do not enter the large white castle on the periphery until I get there. I am currently on Four Island, so I should be able to—

[Before she can calculate how long it’ll take for her to Fly all the way from the middle of the Sevii Islands to Kanto on mon-back, she hears a roar and feels a tug that have been closed off to her for over a year, and just before she turns to face it, viewers will be able to see a robotic blue lion’s head, massive, and the body it’s attached to is somehow floating above the waves lapping at Four Island’s shore. And it’s most likely not alone.]

B. Down Those Country Lanes, Singing to Tiny Dancer (Action, Castle of Lions in Viridian City)

[Not even an hour after that initial broadcast, anyone in Viridian City will be treated to the sight of a gigantic blue lion robot racing through the sky before touching down near the white towers. For a spacecraft that can travel from one end of the universe to the other in only a year and a half, just a couple hundred miles on the same planet is a piece of cake. Once the Blue Lion lands, it bows its head towards the ground and a ramp unfolds from inside its mouth to let a young woman with long white hair run down and onto the ground. Okay good, no force fields or laser guns going off. (Arceus disabled both systems so people can walk in unimpeded and not blow up Kanto, but she doesn't know that yet.) Still, better make sure nobody’s running around inside.

When the sliding doors open, though… oh. She… somehow did not factor in the idea of Pokémon suddenly spawning in her house. A Litleo and a Shinx play wrestling here, quartets of rodent Pokémon riding along floating chairs there, and… is that a Miltank waddling around???]

[ The Gear he'd found himself with is just different enough from the crystals he's used to, that Gorgug doesn't really think to poke at it all that much. So he misses the issued warning about the neat looking tower, and just approaches it the same way he would any other building. With reckless abandon and an absolutely terrible Perception check.

He likes to think he comes from a pretty modern place (at least compared to the rest of his world), but this tower is completely unlike anything he's ever seen. It's really cool, and he's definitely interested to get a closer look. He's got his axe in hand— just in case there's anything nefarious lurking in these mysterious halls— and his Thwackey pal at his side, sticks at the ready. (The Flabebe who's also been traveling with him was feeling a bit too shy, so he let her get back into that weird round palimpsest.) ]

[It just so happens you're lost in the woods. The cold, snowy woods. How did you get here? Who knows, it's a Weird Weekend. You were bound to wind up somewhere crazy. But you'd probably hoped it would be somewhere warmer. Or somewhere, at least, that didn't have a foot of snow on the ground. Eventually, you start to see, of all things, wagon tracks. Horseshoe prints.]

[Round a corner, and come face to face with...]

[A wagon. One pulled by a Mudsdale who looks several sizes too large to be a normal Mudsdale. Do those come in Alpha size???]

[Doesn't matter. There's a campfire, attended to by a Sableye and a Parasect. Both of which pause, and look over at the new arrival. The Sableye chatters something, loudly. Two things happen at the same time. The biggest Snorlax you've ever seen sits up from the bushes, and the doors of the wagon open.]

[That. Is possibly the biggest man ever. In every sense of the word. But he sounds delighted, regardless. His hands clasped together, wearing a rather dapper suit jacket, many rings, and seemingly uncaring of the cold temperature. A couple Morelull sit on the shelves lining the open doors, and the Sableye scrambles up to perch on the big man's foot.]

At last. A customer, I presume? How may I, and my delightful companions, be of service?

[Things have been unusual since the day started. He's not entirely sure why he can sense things again, feel the lingering hold of the Shadow Powers on his soul. It's been... quite some time since he's experienced that. Marik would never admit it outloud but it's something he misses. That darkness, that power. It can be rather distracting. Is slightly distracting for him right now. Chenzira's sticking closer to his trainer more than usual out of concern despite him telling him he's fine. The Yamask has been with him long enough to know when Marik is leaning towards dark tendencies.

So far he hasn't been randomly transported anywhere he wasn't intending to go. The blonde is walking along in his ridiculous furcoat, sipping on his latté, and keeping an eye out in case anything does go awry. (And he's completely oblivious of a certain other blonde who just posted to the network.)]


[Duelist Kingdom - The Island]

[Marik had only heard the tales of the Duelist Kingdom Tournament in his research on Yugi and his friends. Now with a clear mind not full of vengeance, he wishes he had gotten to participate himself. There's no one here but it still is sort of cool to see how everything was laid out.

The glass rooms are a bit weird though. They should be Dueling Arenas, right? Do they work? How do they work? The blonde remains on the outside of glass chamber, not quite trusting it enough to actually walk in. He does have his deck on him in case anyone feels like dueling.]


[Pegasus's Castle - Dining Room - Closed to feelsgoodinyou]

[The tomb keeper stares up at the painting of Shadi far more intensely than anyone should be. This is Pegasus's place so of course he'd have a painting of his friend, the man that changed his life with his "gift." Even if Shadi wasn't the person who... offed his father, the anger is still there. Clan rivalries don't help either.

Chenzira wraps his tail around Marik's arm and gives him a reassuring squeeze.

He tenses up and looks over his shoulder, lavender eyes dull but alert.]

He's landed here in the central city again, and when King spots Marik and Chen, he hurries over to check on his family, his trainer trailing close behind. ]

[The tall woman had no idea why she found herself here again. But at least she was here with familiar faces. The air was chilly and the sun still bright. Alcina disliked the cold. Much like last time, she found herself just wanting to idly play along to hopefully get to leave and return to her daughters. Letting her guard down would be out of the question. But at least she could feign interest very well. The added bonus was she grew very, very fond of the creatures following her. Dimitrescu was wearing a fluffy white coat with a large umbrella to block out the sun, elegant and tall, without a single care for the people she towered over most likely. The only thing taller than her was the Alolan Exeggutor behind her. Next to her were a haughty bunch, a Tsareena and a Haterene. This was her squad. Approach, if you dare. They could be trying on some fashion near the stalls. Or grabbing some tea. Whichever.]

B. Castle Dimitrescu

[Maybe you woke up and were unlucky today. Alcina thought she was home and well…she walked through a door and found herself in a copy of her home. Needless to say, maybe you had the same thing happen to you. There’s an odd copper smell ringing around some doors that aren’t able to be opened. Some statues of women were laid about, as well as many regal pictures of noble women. Reading the plaques would alert you that those paintings were the masters of this castle.

One of them was lingering in the main hall, again in a sour mood. But she felt secure at all times. Her precious daughters weren’t here with her, as she knew. But her team of creatures were with her. The halls were large enough that she could hear footsteps, yours.]

[ the weird weekend was back. it was back, because his core thrummed in his chest and he felt light as a feather. yep. he wanted to run to corrin, to let him know, but he remembered his fiance's a dragon again.

best to avoid any dragons for the time being. but it definitely was time for the angel to finally stretch his wings-- all 12 of them. don't mind him stretching his wings in the middle of ecruteak like it wasn't strange to see a flurry of feathers coming out of nowhere. it totally wasn't weird at all. ]

Ugh... the ache gets even worse every single time... [ what ache? the world may never know. ]

The Grandcypher

[ once he spotted the familiar airship in the sky, sandalphon knew he had to go home. he knew, because the hope of seeing any familiar face was the deepest desire he could have ever had. anyone in the crew would suffice. he shot through the air to land on the deck... only to startle starly and pidgeys.

sandalphon started walking across, calling names as he grew all the more suspicious. ]

Gran? Lyria? Vyrn...? Is anyone here...?

[ why were they not coming out? and why were there so many pokemon on the ship? he would've at least expected yuni to come out and explain, but even so, there's nothing but the sounds of wind and the creaking of the sails that respond to his calling. ]

... Something isn't right.

Cafe Millennia

[ because of course gabriel would call on her kind to fill the space. but the whimsicott and other pokemon were a nice surprise. but everything in the cafe was just how he had left it before-- down to the jar that had been stashed away, holding beans from the primordial coffee tree. despite the change in clientele, sandalphon got straight to work- cleaning coffee pots, brewing new supply, even cleaning every single spot of the countertop. it may have taken him a couple of hours, but the place was looking a lot better than normal. ]

Perfect.

[ the pokemon surrounding him cheered for his hard work, with gabriel at the forefront with a big grin on her face. she was so proud of rallying the pokemon to support her trainer. sandalphon, however, just groaned. ]

I don't need an audience, Gabriel. Please.

No!! I will make sure everyone loves you forever and ever! [ no one will deny this milk of her goal! ]

[ once sandalphon's come to terms with arceus' doing in bringing the grandcypher to the pokemon world, he decides to bring corrin onto the ship-- if not for the world below them, this would be exactly like the sky realm. sandalphon was content with a replica, since at least the grandcypher was the real thing. but because it was all new to corrin, he couldn't help but worry. not like it'd show, however. ]

Try not to break anything. I can't repair what I don't have. [ he's sure the hold's got things to patch the grandcypher up, but he doesn't have access to much. ]

Budehuc Castle - Second Floor

[ the castle in the middle of the regions was certainly an experience, but sandalphon only expects strange things during the weird weekend. it was in the name, after all. so exploring he would go, as he's gotten used to the pull of curiosity that any new spot would take him.

the library calls his name, and while the language may not make much sense, the angel still finds interest in trying to decipher it. it was a language that humanity must have crafted, after all. as supreme primarch, it would always be in his best interest to know every language, to facilitate continued growth between primal and human. but certainly, the illustrated books did aid in his studies. ]

Fascinating stuff, truly... [ now all he needed was a cup of coffee, and he would be set. ]

Kaiba Corp. Headquarters

[ another building that caught his interest. an all glass building, with no safety measures taken? not to mention the three strange dragons that littered the entrance of the building itself. but entering through the front was lame, when there was an area of the building that was high up enough to land without leaving a possible crater in the concrete. months without his wings left him rusty on landing.

so he lands right on the helicopter pad, blinking when all he sees are dragons. great.

the copious amounts of dreepy and skarmory instantly latch onto him, making him yelp and crash to the ground. great. he stares at the sky as the dragons continue to nuzzle him. ]

Just my luck. [ so much for avoiding dragons. ]

Of course, Geddoe's been spending some time in the castle since he found it here. True, it's a lonely place when devoid of the people who had so recently been here, and who ought to still be here, but it's also a place of fond memories, too. In any case, it's only a matter of time before he notices someone else is about and goes to investigate. Partly to make sure there's no trouble, but also partly just curiosity.

"Is it?"

He happens to know the contents of the library fairly well; there's about an even chance between finding a dry history and finding something genuinely entertaining to read, in his experience.

[I. Cleaning House]

As unpredictable as these weekends are, one never knows when one might be whisked away to parts unknown, or at least unexpected. Still, for as long as he manages to remain at home, Sion's got a project or two to work on.

Which means that, should you happen to drop by his and Ryner's house, you might find him in the study, with piles of books everywhere, clearly pulled from the now-empty shelves, as he's busily doing both a deep cleaning and a long-overdue reorganizing.

"Ah, could you hand me that one, second from the top on that chair there?"


[II. Baron Castle - multiple locations]

While Sion expects a lot of weird things during this time of year, he admittedly wasn't expecting to find himself outside a castle. A clearly well-built one, too.

Suffice it to say that, seeing no one around, he's taken to exploring the place. Though should he be questioned, he'll have the ready excuse that he was simply looking for the owners. After all, not being familiar with the castle grounds means he can't be blamed if he wanders into someplace he's not supposed to be, right? Right.

However, eventually he'll make it to a certain tower bedroom where, upon examining the paperwork on the desk, one might catch him smiling slightly to himself as he realizes just whose castle this is.

Alternatively, find him in the basement, where there's clearly something amiss, and he'd rather like to know what...


[III. Duelist Kingdom Island - around the island]

Now this is an interesting place Sion's found himself. Aside from the strange geography all crammed into a single island, those peculiar glass boxes seem to have caught his eye. Naturally, Sion has no idea what they're for or how they're supposed to work, but that isn't going to stop him from investigating...

"I wonder..."

A pity he doesn't have a deck, otherwise he could experiment.

"Ah- Hey, Sion. It's been a while! I didn't expect to find you here."

Or himself for that matter. Sure, it was a location from his world but he had only read about it.

It's here! It's here! The weekend Keldor didn't realise he was waiting for!

But to say he's overjoyed when he wakes up that morning is an understatement. All the things he didn't bring with him when he came to this crazy world several months ago are here now.

He's got his sword [oh, it feels good to have that oh-so-familiar piece of metalwork art in his hands], his Havoc Staff [getting that thing was well worth the trip to Zalesia's ruins], his magic [not having his magic felt an awful lot like not being able to breathe], his loyal companion, Panthor [he missed that big ol' cat] and, most importantly, his signature skin tone.

In short, Keldor's happy enough that he's at risk of not watching where he's going, because he's not paying attention because of how elated he is, but he'll definitely notice once he does end up there, or if he bumps into someone in the process [hopefully they don't end up in any ancient ruins as a result].

[Once more, it's one of Those Weekends. Which inevitably means Shiro is going to step out of a door, somewhere, most likely his own bedroom, and land face-first into something, somewhere, else. At least, he's slightly better dressed this time. Pants are always a welcome addition.]

[Still, he sort of folds in on himself, partly because it's probably cold, and partly because you don't just fall into someone's room in your PJs - this is so embarrassing.]

Hey, listen, I'm sorry. This - really wasn't what I meant to do. Just point me at the door.

[He sounds so... so tired.]


2) TAKE A RIDE | action or video
[Whether you're watching the shaky-cam broadcast on the network, or looking up in person, there is definitely something in the sky. A closer (either zoom in, or squinting) look reveals what exactly it is.]

[That's a giant robot.]

[That's a giant robot lion. It's enormous. Like, that thing is the size of a building. Is it a pokemon? Is this some kind of weird armored Solgaleo? Nope, it's just a certain quasi-magical, lion robot. Where the heck did that thing come from.]

[And it's... doing stunts. Barrel rolls. Flips. Flying upside down. All of those things in rapid succession. Until, finally, it starts to climb upward. Higher and higher... disappearing into the clouds... Only to come hurtling back down in free fall. Oh shi - is something wrong? Did it have a malfunction?]

[Nope. It catches itself at the last second, skimming only a few feet off the ground with a victorious roar that shakes the camera (or the ground, depending on how you're witnessing this).]

[Eventually, it lands, and who of all people but Shiro emerges, armored, and beaming.]

[Either catch him in person, or send him a video message.]

[Luckily (or unluckily, depending on who is being asked), Shiro lands face-first in the house bathroom where he is treated to a high-pitched scream of the muy dramático kind. The kind only dog Pokemon should be able to hear. But by the magic of the universe enjoying Shiro's misery, his ears are blessed by the sound at full volume and the sight of Lance dripping wet, fresh from the shower, with a towel around his waist and two fingers covering each of his nipnops.]

I - Ruins of Alph

[Vierna's more or less become accustomed to the surface, in the human form that this world usually forces on her. When she wakes up in her proper drow form, with proper drow senses? Taking another look at somewhere properly dark had seemed like a good idea. She breathes easier with a real ceiling overhead, anyway.

Unfortunately, enjoying the return of her darkvision means that, if someone else down here is not similarly equipped for life in the dark, Vierna may take them by surprise. For instance, rounding a corner and immediately wincing back, shielding her eyes from whatever light the other party might happen to be carrying with a muttered oath.]

II - House Do'Urden Compound

[She walks more confidently here. She grew up here, the corridors and chambers of the House are familiar to her in a way that goes far beyond what would be necessary for a place to manifest this weekend. It's downright eerie without anyone around, though - House Do'Urden had never been crowded, considerably less than a dozen nobles in comparison to the scores that some of the larger Noble Houses of Menzoberranzan could boast, but there had always been someone around.

Now there's just here and... that's another set of footsteps she hears, she's certain of it. Palming a pokeball with a scowl, starts quietly heading toward the sound of the... well, she can't help but think of them as an intruder. Maybe her House stands quiet and deserted, but it's still her House, after all.]

III - Still House Do'Urden Compound

[...specifically, the chapel.

Vierna sits in one of the narrow pews, frowning down at her hands in her lap. She's deep in concentration, if not meditation; she isn't exactly pleased with the results of this contemplation. She's in her own skin, her innate spellcasting is back... and still something is missing.

The distraction of another person entering is almost welcome. She speaks up to warn them, her voice almost flat, not bothering to turn to look at them.]

Be careful. I don't know how functional the jade driders are.

As soon as he realized that magic was working again, Shrike knew what he had to do. Namely, gather up all the materials he's hoarded over the past several months for this purpose, and proceed to positively book it for the edge of town and a more appropriate space for using magecraft.

He might, however, be failing to fully look where he's going in his enthusiasm...

"Ah! S-sorry...!"


[II. Yanchet Mountains]

It's very possible, with all the strangeness going on, that you might suddenly find yourself deep in a mountain range that not that of Johto or Kanto. The forest-covered slopes rise steeply to snowy peaks, and extend as far as the eye can see. Rivers flow briskly down narrow valleys, while the occasional larger valley is usually home to as many farmsteads as can be crammed in.

But more importantly, there's a kid wearing a hooded cloak looking about himself not in fear or as though lost, but in recognition.

"How...?"


[III. Schwarzwald]

How did he end up in this mysterious forest? Shrike has no idea. But the more pressing question in his mind is why oh why has a crowd of Morelull and Shiinotic insisting on gathering around him. Because there are many and Shrike is very unsure what to do about it.

"Um, do you want something?"

Really, all the fairy 'shrooms are throwing him off far more than the creepy forest thing. Go figure!


[Extra. A special appearance...???]

Elsewhere, specifically, anywhere that Shrike is decidedly not at the moment, you might come across a new(?) face. Specifically, a black-haired man of perhaps thirty years old or so, dressed in what's frankly quite fancy and expensive-looking robes, to judge by the dyed colors and embroidered patterns. His hair and beard are also carefully groomed and styled, though his ears are shaped a little oddly. And there's an almost animal-like pattern of dark patches on what little is visible of his skin, though it can be tricky to see with the elaborate and clearly carefully-applied makeup he's wearing. For that matter, should you get a glimpse of his hands under those overly long sleeves, his fingernails are neatly manicured and painted, though a bit narrower and thicker than normal.

Which is to say, if you happen to know a certainly intensely shy kid who's fond of hoods well enough to have seen under the hood, this 'new' fellow might seem more than a little familiar.

"Your pardon, but I don't seem to be familiar with this place?"

He also clearly has no idea where he is or what's going on.

In what's rapidly becoming a tradition, Geddoe is once again being harassed by an electric type. Luckily for him, this time it's only one. Unluckily for him, it's the notoriously fickle Tapu Koko.

"... Really?"

All Geddoe receives in response to his exasperated sigh is the sound of the Tapu gathering electrical charge. Looks like it doesn't like being mostly ignored!


[II. The Great Hall]

Geddoe is definitely too big for this place. Oh, he's perfectly fine as long as he doesn't get too far to the edges of the room, sure, but that doesn't mean it's not terribly awkward and frankly kind of cramped. Not to mention, being blind on one side makes navigating around all the small obstacles even more difficult.

Still, exasperating as it is being stuck here, he can't help muttering to himself.

"... Like the Great Hollow in miniature..."


[III. Grandcypher - Main Deck]

Airships are not really a thing where Geddoe's from. And while he's seen--and even ridden--some since coming to Johto, they're still a largely unfamiliar technology. Which means that now that he's suddenly found himself on one, and a seemingly abandoned one to boot, he's taking some time to look it over.

Which, at the moment, means systematically going from one end of the deck to the other, checking in every room he can. Don't worry, he's not taking anything. He's a mercenary, after all, not a thief.


[IV. Budehuc Castle - Anywhere]

Now this place, Geddoe knows well. He's been here a few times, in more than one era, at that. So wile he's surprised to find it here, there's something nostalgic about the old castle, even as it's also somewhat lonely, seeing it so empty.

Still, if he happens across anyone else wandering around, he'll at least pause to exchange a few words.

Giratina is so large it's actually mostly just knocking things off shelves for her to have to re-sort and put back, creating a kind of recursive activity that's kept them in the same location for the last thirty minutes.

B. Budehuc Castle - Second Floor Library
[Continuing with the theme, Misaki is here in this library too, searching through the books for information on the world she's wound up in. She is not being tailed by the Great Satan here, but a Galarian Meowth prowls around near her, looking for ankles to chomp, and a Charmander dozes not far off, tail held out to provide light for it's apparent trainer. Whether or not you fall victim to Meowth, eventually she just holds a hand out to whoever approaches.]

Hand me that book.

C. Any Route
[Of course, when she is not being an absolutely unholy terror, Misaki has wandered out into the world to see what this is all about. After summoning a meteor on a weedle or two, she has decided that using magic on pokemon is unnecessarily mean, and is trying to sort out how to battle with that Meowth and Charmander. It's going...some kind of way.]

...Must we really speak these move names aloud?

[Cringe. It's cringe. She is an old lady why are you making her do things she'd have unironically loved the fuck out of when she was 18. She still loves it. Do not let her fool you.]

[That's a quirk he'd never seen before. Fire, sure, but that was a giant flaming rock, and that's far more interesting, so for a little bit Misaki has been being watched, from a safe distance, by a thoroughly unkempt but clean late-teen in black, accompanied by an equally unkempt looking pidgey perched on one shoulder.

Once she switches to pokemon battling the way that actually gets the pokemon exp, they get significantly closer, but are apparently too polite(cough) to interrupt until she speaks up and to his ears sounds unhappy.]

Yeah.

[The response is a dry rasp, and the pidgey nods firmly alongside Tomura's response, bobbing a bit as it does so.]

It's just a game, so don't over think it and kick that weedle's ass. ...With your pokemon, they don't get experience otherwise.

[He might not remember this place, but it remembers him. Or, rather, the duo of birds following along certainly do. A Rowlet and a Corvisquire. They're unobtrusive for now, following from the trees overhead, and the bushes nearby. Really the only reason they can track him at all is... they're Pokemon. Otherwise it'd be pretty hopeless.]

[Maybe you're camping in the woods. These woods are infamous for something. For a cryptid known as GOGOAT MAN. A terrifying being with horns, pale skin and hair. Known to lurk in the bushes and scare the unwary camper...]

[Say, did those bushes just rustle...?]

[Local Elf steps out of the woods... and into the middle of a city. Thanks to this Weird Weekend shenanigans, he's dumped out in some random street, in some random town - in Jhoto or Kanto. Doesn't matter which, it's a Weird Weekend. This is... disorienting.]

[Fortunately, the two birds have come along as well. With the Rowlet rolling out in front to block any oncoming traffic. If there is any in Pokemon world... Don't mind the sudden bird appearing out of nowhere, really!]

[ Kimmuriel isn't exactly afraid of cryptids, and so it doesn't stop him from walking the woods as he pleases. His Absol, following at his heels, eyes as piercing red as his own, stops and stares into the darkness as the bushes rustle. ]

[ if you're inside casita's magical interior at this point, you'll feel a rumble coming from outside. through the windows or doors one may see . . . a moving stone wall? rather, the segments belonging to a nearly ten-meter onix giving chase to a razzled toucannon. colorful and absolutely tiny in comparison is a swimmer-class trainer (she's actually older than she looks) with some kind of net launcher nearly two times her size (thank you fourth wall??), pouncing around balconies and rooftops and lord help you if you are just standing there. she will jump on you. and use you as a trampoline. ]

Move outta the— WAY!

[ it doesn't help that when she plants her heels to shoot, the recoil actually throws her onto her back and into a room. the net deploys, but the toucannon dips out of the shot's range and moves too quickly for the onix to follow. rebecca snarls out with a yell of frustration but gets back up on her feet. ]

God damn it! [ and to anyone still watching: ] That feathery bazooka's mine, y'here?! Pick up the slack, Smash!

[ the onix rumbles low and agreeing. she saw toucannon being used on TV as its own launcher. now that's what she's been looking for. she's just gotta have it! ]

Sorry to say it does just happen now and then; a couple times a year, things just... go screwy for a bit. I wish I could say you get used to it, but I sure haven't yet.

Oh man that's a good question; I'd say your best bet would probably be to check out one of the big cities, Pokemon-safe paint sounds like the sorta thing they might have in Goldenrod.

A. Hivemind/Astral Plane
[ The corridors of the hivemind might be disorienting or distracting for strangers, but Kimmuriel strides or floats through them with perfect ease. He spends much of his time lingering at the open parts of the hivemind's city, bustling with all manner of psychic Pokemon, staring out into the vast sea of stars that is the Astral Plane.

He seems entirely at peace, here, enough to offer a few comments to anyone who stops by. ]

It is a truly beautiful place, I believe.

B. Scarlet Marpenoth
[ Kimmuriel, looking quite at ease, can be found in any of the rooms, simply inspecting it as if it were his own property. He looks a little disgruntled, however. ]

What a ridiculous expense this must have been...

C. Roadside, Night
[ The drow has decided to take to the roads mostly at night, given that his newly returned powers have come with the side-effect of aversion to sunlight once more. He appears to be taking things slowly, with his entire party of psychic Pokemon following merrily along behind him.

If spoken to, or even if he is accosted or stopped in some way, it takes him a moment to respond, as if he is listening to something only he can hear. ]

Did you speak? [ It seems to be a honest, if very blunt, question. ]

The Razor Crest

[Of all the things he expected to find this weekend, the Razor Crest wasn't on Mando's list. He honestly didn't think he'd be able to pull anything from his world here, the way other people are. While it's not Grogu (the thing he'd like the most to pull here from home), it's still a familiar, surprisingly comforting sight.]

[His new ship is great and all, but there's just something about his shitty, hulking Razor Crest that tugs at his heartstrings.]

[Of course, the damn thing won't fire up, so the touching reunion is short-lived. Mando gets to work trying to fix the ship's engine, so he can fly it. He doubts he'll be able to break the atmosphere and leave this world, but it would be foolish not to try.]

Jet pack

[Once it's clear that the Razor Crest isn't going to start--or maybe Mando doesn't technically try as hard as he could to get it going--Mando takes to the skies with his jet pack. If he only gets it every six months or so, he's going to make the most of the time he has, and practice everything all the moves that he's still trying to master.]

[This time, he has a Corvidknight flying with him, keeping him company and perhaps showing off a bit herself. Yes, yes, Razor, you can do barrel rolls better than dad!]

Being moody

[Towards the end of the weekend, after fiddling with the Razor Crest and spending time in the sky, Mando can be found in the woods. He's lined up a bunch of cans and other trash along a fence, and is systematically picking them off with his blaster.]

Geddoe's not questioning why the target practice. He can think of a few perfectly good reasons himself, after all. It's just that when he heard the blaster fire he came to investigate, just in case something was amiss.
