Oh, you met Boober? That's good.

[An absent comment as Riz thinks over Gorgug's comment.]

Yeah, it's probably not concentration exactly, but some sort of resource that needs to be renewed. Adaine would probably know more about it. This isn't exactly my area of expertise either. But it's the only thing that would make sense given the facts of the case. Why else would this [Here he just gestures around himself at everything.] happen with such regularity?

So... Leviathan shows up in this plane regularly?

[ He may not entirely get what it was that Riz was gesturing to. ]

But, wait. If the last thing you remember from home is spring break... And you've been here for a— for more than a year...

Does that make you older than me, now?

No, actually, that's pretty new too. Normally--

[Except Riz doesn't get to tell him what things are like normally, because then Gorgug asks that question and wow. Is he? Riz doesn't really like to think too much about the time that has been passing here. It just drives home the fact that he is not, well, home. He doesn't want to out-age the other Bad Kids through the virtue of being stuck in a weird place.]

I-- I don't think that matters.

[georgug]

Oh, uhhh. No, I didn't mean that it— I don't think it matters, it's just. It's kind of weird, right?

[ He shakes his head. ] Never mind. Forget it.

So, um. Boober said you had told him about me— a-about the rest of us?

[nightyorb]

Oh yeah. I've told a lot of people about you guys.

[It helps keep them alive in Riz's mind. He misses all the Bad Kids like one would miss a limb. Sometimes his mind is so certain they are still right there, that he'll be turning to point something out to Fabian, or elbow Fig before she can make the comment that Riz knows she'll be going to make, but then there is no one there and it hurts all over again.

Riz hesitates for a moment, then buries his face against the front of Gorgug's hoodie, so he won't have to look him in the eye, as he mumbles]

I miss all of you guys so much. It sucks. I keep waiting cause I know you'll get me out of here once you figure out where I am, but it still sucks so much.

[georgug]

[ Gorgug frowns, his big hands fumbling away in the air before settling themselves on Riz's back again. ]

It's okay, man. I'll... I'll go back and tell everyone where you are. Maybe Adaine can think of a way to get you home. We'll... We'll figure it out, somehow.

Yeah.

[Riz absolutely trusts the Bad Kids to figure this out. Like he told his dad -- he's got some pretty powerful friends.

The problem is just...]

I just don't know how it works with all this... time stuff. I was never gone during Spring Break from what you can remember, right? But I am here now. Does that mean me coming here altered time somehow? That I made the future you are in impossible?

[georgug]

No, I mean... There were a couple points where we were separated.

[ In the Forest of the Nightmare King. And before that, in Hell. ]

But I feel like you would have said something if you were kidnapped to another plane of existence for a whole year. Unless you like... forgot somehow?

[nightyorb]

[Riz wishes he could say that he'll never forget something like this. And under ordinary circumstances, he wouldn't. But when magic gets put into the mix, he can't be sure of that.]

Tell Adaine to check my memories first. See if anything was altered by magic. No sense in trying to find this plane if I am already back, right?

[georgug]

[ Gorgug nods. ]

It wouldn't be the first time we ran into altered memories.

[ He has to admit, Riz has a point. If he's already back by the time they finish spring break, then he must have somehow already gotten rescued.

Except... ]

What about everyone else, though? Boober, and Allura, and everyone else who's trapped here? We can't just... get you back and then leave them all here?

[nightyorb]

[Riz feels like kicking himself! He won't though cause he might kick Gorgug too in the process. Not that his kicks would probably deal any damage to him, but still.]

Shit, yeah, I wasn't thinking. I promised Boober we'd help him get back home.

[He hadn't extended such a same promise to Allura (it hadn't come up) but he wanted to help her too. And Mando. He had a kid to get back from a weird cult, after all.]

Well, like... We know the magic goes one way, right? To bring in people and places from other planes. We just need to figure out how to reverse it.

[nightyorb]

Yeah. It might be easier to do from outside this plane though.

[Riz pushes up his hat to scratch his curls for a moment.]

But, lets face it, we really need Adaine to figure that out. Maybe Ayda too.

[Riz might normally be able to help with some of the magic research, he is still the least magical of them all. There is only so much he can do!]

[georgug]

[ Gorgug has to admit, Ayda would probably be their best resource for a project this big. ]

But wait... We're in Leviathan. Wouldn't— I know the whole place is empty, so Ayda probably isn't here. But wouldn't her research and stuff still be here? We could go see what we can find in the Compass Points?

[nightyorb]

Right! And you are the greatest wizard of our age. We might as well try.

[Okay, Riz doesn't actually believe Gorgug is the greatest wizard, but they might as well try. Is the likelihood they will find something super high? Probably not! But it is better than just sitting there and doing nothing. If Gorgug can bring home even the smallest scrap of information back to Adaine and the others, it might just break the case.

Riz's tail slaps excitedly against Gorgug's arm as he scrambles up onto his shoulders.]

Okay, Gorgug, to the library! Green squad rolling out.

[georgug]

[ It's not like Gorgug is entirely unaccustomed to carrying people on his back, so he just shifts his weight automatically to compensate for Riz's presence.

He walks out from behind the bar, calling over to his Flabebe and Thwackey who have been entertaining themselves in the corner. ]

Uh, Wilma? Tré? Riz and I are gonna go check out the library. You can come if you want, or stay here, whatever you—?

[ He just sort of trails off, because as soon as the Pokemon hear that their new friend is going someplace, they rush to come along to. Tré Cool the Thwackey sticks his sticks into his hair, and Wilma the Flabebe floats her flower over towards Gorgug and Riz. ]

Uh, do you mind holding on to Wilma's flower, Riz? Just— Be careful with it, okay?

[nightyorb]

Sure.

[Riz holds out his cupped hands to receive one (1) flower.]

They gave you pokemon too, huh? I've never even seen that drum monkey, but it fits you.

[And so does the little flower pokemon. The only way it could've been even more fitting is if it had been made of tin.]

[georgug]

[ If someone found a way to make a Steel type Flabebe, it really would be the perfect Gorgug Pokemon. ]

Oh, do you have some of them too? These guys just sort of started following me around.

[nightyorb]

Yeah, I got a bunch. I caught most of them, but I hatched a few too.

[Riz comfortably folds his arms on top of Gorgug's head.]

Can you believe that? Every animal here hatches from an egg. It's super weird.

SURPRISE! I haven't forgotten about 4th wall

[georgug]

[ With Riz firmly seated in place, Gorgug starts heading out of the Gold Gardens and towards the Compass Points. ]

What—? Every animal? Even the monkeys?

[nightyorb]

Even the monkeys.

[Riz says this in a very matter of fact 'can you believe this place' sort of manner.]

At this point, I'm not even sure the people don't hatch from eggs. Maybe that's what the creepy nurses and cops actually are. Just some strange pokemon that we all are supposed to not acknowledge.
