Jetpack

[Hermione had just started walking down the stairs to the kitchen when suddenly she's falling. Or not falling. Zipping in different directions, wildly out of control. At this point, all she's really registered is that something is strapped to her back.]

[Luckily (or unluckily?), Umbra, her Mismagius, and Yorokobi, her Togekiss, have apparently come along for the ride, and are loving being in the air with her.]

[Hermione, not so much. In fact she's screaming her head off, horrified she's about to fall to her death at any moment.]

[As some point in her out-of-control ride, she zips straight past Mando, however by then her eyes are closed as she screams.]

[That is... okay, wow, that's something. The screaming alerts Mando before the roar of the jetpack, and when he turns to investigate it, he almost gets clobbered by Hermoine.]

Huh.

[He doesn't recognise her, but he can definitely tell that's an out of control jetpack, and he flies after her. His own pack never went that wild, but he can imagine how terrifying it would be to be up in the air and out of control. So he flies beside her, waiting for an opening.]

[When she tilts so her back is facing him, Mando dives in. He gets hold of the jetpacks straps on top of her shoulders, and wrestles her into an upright position. Once he's done that, he slaps a few buttons on the side of the pack so it's just hovering and not flying around wildly.]

Sorry, kid; hope that wasn't too rough. You're hovering in one spot now. The pack won't move again until you tell it to.

[Or until he lets go, but he'll leave that part out for now.]

[Hovering. Okay, she's hovering. Hovering is...nope, nope, it's not better. Don't get her wrong, she's grateful not to be hurtling through the air anymore, but one glance down and seeing nothing but sky and ground very far away under her is freaking her out. Hermione squeezes her eyes shut, arms flailing as she goes to clutch her saviour's wrist in a death grip. She's breathing fast like she's about to have a full blown panic attack. Oh wait. This is the full blown panic attack.]

[Yorokobi circles, concerned, while Umbra just doubles over laughing at Hermione's plight.]

[Mando glares at the laughing Pokemon.]

You're not helping.

[Rude! But back to the girl, who is clearly not reassured by hovering. At least she's being very clear about what she wants.]

Okay, I'll get you down. Hold still.

[He's guessing, based on her reactions, that she'd probably like something to hold onto while they descend. So like the Disney prince he technically is a gentleman, Mando manoeuvres himself so they're face-to-face, with him hovering directly in front of her.]

Hold onto me. My jetpack can support both of us, but I'll need to turn yours off.

[Umbra just blows him a raspberry. She's not here to help! She's here for a good laugh. If she had Hermione's Pokegear, she'd be taking videos and photos for sure.]

[Hermione opens her eyes as Mando moves in front of her, and frantically grabs hold of him.]

Turn it off?!! You promise you wont let me go, right?

Kobi, don't let me fall!

[Yorokobi chirps and moves to circle a little way under her and Mando, ready to catch her or slow a fall if necessary.]
