[ It only takes a moment for Fordola to feel another by her. She turns within a moment--

--and her bright red eye seems to almost spark with energy, as she staggers backwards. She seems a lot more... well, feral then the woman who Estinien had talked to once. Less control, and more snarling beast.

But she is looking right at him, even as she staggers. A gaze that shows no recognition, and a little bit of... fear? Distrust? And even as she's clearly trying to struggle with... something internal, she's still dodging the Pokemon she angered.

Moving towards Estinien. ]

[Hm.

To be fair, he's not sure she would have any reason to know who he was, but she certainly seems far less settled than he would expect. (Unsettled enough to attack random wild Pokemon? Though he can't say much, he did the same when he first arrived.)

He's a good fifteen to seventeen yalms up off the ground, out of her immediate reach (unless she has more surprises up her sleeve than he's aware of), so he's not particularly concerned. He's a dragoon with the high ground after all.]

You're unable to touch them with that.

[He inclines his head towards the sword in her hand.]

Though I'm sure you noticed that already.

[ Honestly, Fordola thought they just had hard hide. But it is quite futile.

While she can't jump like a Dragoon, she is. Going to at least move up high enough that the Pokemon she's fighting can't follow. (Like a cat fleeing a dog...) Her Resonant is calming, but: she's still feeling emotions, them melding with her own.

(Which scares her.) She crosses her arms. ]

No reason not to try. Not like I had my blade earlier.

[ There's an odd amount of pride as she talks about her gunblade. Hers. She earned it. ]

[So she was here before--and that means she's presumably not going to be gone once the madness of the next 36 bells or so straightens itself out. He hadn't seen her say anything, not that he checks the network often, or would have much reason to reach out if he had.]

Fair enough. I tried hunting them myself when first I arrived.

[Years ago, and his head hurts a little to think about it.

He throws out one of his own pokeballs, Chorale the Noivern bursting out in a shimmer of light, and whistles--the cue enough for the dragon to attack the trailing creature and drive it off. Now they can talk--or possibly fight--without interruption.]

Care to try it against me?

[ Oh? Either this man was strong or he was cocky. Fordola smirked. ]

Might stop me from gettin' rusty. Commanding these beasts around isn't my style.

[ Notably, one of her Pokemon is still out of its' ball - a Houndour, who is quietly. Watching, as Fordola stills. She's watching for movement - for anything changing in the aether around them. Or whatever this place is made of.

While she may have a vague idea that they've met - that she has seen him somehow - she doesn't know who he is. That this is a Bad Idea. But either would be fun for her, she reasons. ]

[Why not both, honestly.

Estinien returns the smirk and reaches for his lance, twisting it free from his back--then there's a surge of wind aether as he leaps and comes down like a levinbolt.

He isn't underestimating her--it would be an insult to do so--if she doesn't dodge it'll be a good thing that people here cannot die.]

[ For a moment, it looks like he's going to strike, that she's about to be skewered. But at the last possible moment, Fordola moves out of the way. She looks like she's half-between a chuckle and a grunt - oh, this is exciting! But she wasn't sure she'd have been able to dodge that - not without her new ability.

This is her first time using it. In the moment she dodges, she moves to strike Estinien with the blade of her gunblade. If he's not holding back, neither is she. Her moves, quite honestly, are a lot like Gaius' techniques. ]
