"No need for that, it was the Forest who decided to visit unannounced." She has no idea what is happening but she can't find it in her to be mad, she just kinda wishes her husband had shown up instead of just her kingdom.

Still, it won't be too long a walk to the manor that is what counts as a castle here.

"That probably has something to do with it being one of those weekends again..." Sion remarks with a sigh. "Don't be surprised if you find other oddities showing up, or find yourself in strange places."

"Those weekends? Things like this have happened before?"

The manor itself is...filled with Absol. Absol who seem absolutely uninterested in doing anything but laying (and shedding) on the furniture. Naeva pauses, and squints.

"Hey! I told you all to stay off the tables!"

"Yes, they typically happen about twice a year, though the precise times have varied."

But oh. Those sure are Absol. Good thing Sion likes Absol! Though whether they'll like him in his current state is another question...

"My, it seems like you've acquired quite a few friends here."

Seriously though, if the partially merged with a godslaying mad god thing doesn't freak them out, Sion will happily spoil greet some of those Absol.

Good news, Sion, you're standing next to an undead witch queen, the Absol have long since given up freaking out at anything about this place in favor of comfy furniture. They don't even twitch a paw at the demand to behave.

"They seem to have moved themselves in, actually...they're adorable but seem quite...proud."

Excellent, then no doubt some of the Absol would appreciate some petting and scritches? Sion knows all the good spots!

"Well, most wild Pokémon aren't exactly known for their good behavior. Though it does seem they've taken a liking to this place, at least."

[desirestruth]

"I don't have the heart to teach them any manners..."

The absol, who are generally not used to human shaped people not being scared of them, are plenty happy to receive scritches! If Sion does it right, he can even get the vaunted Leg Kickies. Naeva just kind of sighs a bit.

"I've considered asking one if it'll come with me, but I can't take all of them."

Given that Sion's starter is an Absol, he has nothing but fondness for the species, really. Which is to say there will be much scritching and petting.

"I imagine they'll understand if you explain the situation, Absol are usually fairly clever.

"Although, if I'd known you'd wanted one, I could have given you an egg."

[desirestruth]

"I hadn't seen any of these before, so I wouldn't have known." She is starting to smile in spite of her exasperation, at how absolutely thrilled Sion seems to be about Absol House here.

"I will ask them about it, but I think I might also want to see if others come through and take a liking to them. I've no doubt they'll be unharmed whenever this...ends, but I'd still like to make sure they're comfortable, even if they remain while at the end."

What can he say? Absol are great. He already has two though, so he probably shouldn't take in another. Probably.

"Well, they certainly seem to be making themselves comfortable already, so I don't think you have to worry much about that, at least."

[desirestruth]

"Shedding all over my mother's favorite divan, too, I've noticed," Naeva remarks dryly, but she's not really that angry. She's just trying to set a good example for Remy.

Remy who is conked the fuck out on one of the armchairs, for the record. It's past his bedtime, clearly.

Sion can't help but chuckle at that.

"I'm sure they didn't mean to. And surely you can clean up later?"

Let the poor things enjoy themselves! They don't get enough of that normally.

"Well, I suppose. She's certainly not around to object."

Well....aside from her ghost in the back garden but Naeva's very firmly not Thinking About That.

Well, now that gives Sion pause.

"Ah, my apologies if I touched on sensitive subject..."

Since, well. Dead mothers certainly is a touchy thing for him.

"Oh, it's fine. Her death was a mercy long overdue."

Naeva flaps her hand maybe a little too casually. It's a sore spot, but it's not like it's Sion's fault for not knowing.

On the one hand, that's an attitude Sion recognizes and knows a little too well. On the other hand, he really doesn't want to discuss this sort of thing for reasons of his own.

"... I see."

He's also stopped his petting, which the Absol in question finally reminds him of with a nudge.

"...Truly, unless you wander out into the back gardens, there's nothing about that you need to worry about. And you seem...more than adept at handling a confused ghost."

She has turned to go move an Absol away from sniffing at Remy, which conveniently means she has her back to Sion. Easier, that way.

"Well, I suppose I'll have to take your word for that."

He has not intention of poking around to find out, in other words. And, for a moment, he almost considers saying something more, a word of comfort or something, but that passes soon enough. He has no particular desire to continue discussing something that hits so close to home for him, too, so instead he just finally resumes petting the Absol.

"...You don't have to." She shrugs again, and then picks Remy up from the chair after all, so she can sit in it.

"The rest of the Forest should be quite safe for you to explore...though I ask you try not to draw that sword here. The Forest isn't terribly fond of gods, and my vouching for you can only go so far."

Rather than continue to belabor an unpleasant topic, Sion raises an eyebrow at that last minute.

"Oh? I suppose it and I have that in common, then."

Then, after a moment's thought, he adds: "You needn't worry, however. There's a price to actually using that power. Unless my life is in danger, there should be no need to."

He'd shown her the sword because she'd asked, but he'd never actually used it, after all.

[desirestruth]

"Every power like that comes with a price. But I felt it was better to be upfront, than let you go around without warning. Wouldn't make me much of a friend, would it?"

Naeva does tilt her head a bit, with a smile, but she is giving Remy a demanded tummyrub. Which the absol nearest Sion is now demanding from him.

"No, I suppose not."

Said with a wry smile, of course. And yes, that Absol is now getting belly rubs because of course it is. Especially since, particular fondness for Absol aside, Sion does genuinely enjoy taking care of Pokémon.

"...Are you sure you aren't going to take all these Absol home, Sion?"

Naeva may have noticed Sion has a favorite.

It's very brief and very easy to miss, but if Naeva's paying close attention (and perhaps a little lucky), she might catch a glimpse of a startled, almost embarrassed expression flicker across Sion's face at that before he promptly recovers his composure. Apparently that question hit close to the mark.

"... When I first arrived here, the Pokémon I received to begin with was an Absol. I suppose that makes me a little fond of them, especially seeing as they've often been mistreated due to being misunderstood."

That's not actually answering the question, Sion.

[desirestruth]

"Are they? I hadn't realized..." Well, now she feels some kinship with them, but that's no reason to stop teasing Sion. Rather, it's been a while since she's been able to tease her twin brother, and it's quite fun to do so...

"I do notice that didn't answer the question, though."
