Hey, hey...

[Naeva actually stops, so she can lift Boober off her shoulder to look at him.] It will be alright. They will be alright, and so will you. I'll help you...I'm sure your other friends here will too. Take a deep breath...no trouble lasts forever.

[soupguy]

[Boober lowers his head sulkily, arms crossed.]

People always tell me that, but they never talk about how most good things don't last, either. [A sigh, because part of him hears his own negativity but he's mostly too deep in already.] I'm not very good at being hopeful, and Mokey's not here to remind me-- She's supposed to remind me.

Well, listen to this, then.

[She shifts Boober to hold him a little more comfortably, while she talks.] I've lived 112 years, did you know? And I can tell you something very certain--the good times come around again, always, no matter how bad they get. And some of those good things last a very long time, indeed. It's true...moment to moment, there's nothing at all that lasts forever. But flowers bloom again in spring, and new things are born and grow, and the sun rises in the morning...I bet if you think about it, you'll find there are always good things happening, even during the bad times.

[Her tone grows a little gentler, still.] It's okay if you're scared, Boober. There's never been anything wrong with being scared. But it's most important to look for happy things when you're scared...that's when we need them the most. So if the people who usually remind you aren't here...I'll help. I bet your pokemon will too.

[soupguy]

[Boober listens to her, fighting the urge to speak up with protests... Which comes up less and less the more Naeva speaks. This is the kind of thing that he always struggles to truly internalize, even though in a moment it can be comforting. But when Naeva offers to help him, it's clear that really hits. He leans forward to hug her, arms loosely around her neck.]

[She takes the hug gracefully, gently patting Boober on the back. In truth, she knows the things he's feeling quite well--hers has been a long life, full of suffering. But it's that experience that gives her the confidence to try and help the fraggle, after all.

But to say all that might come off as too preachy, so she's going to let this moment happen, right now.]

[After a few moments, Boober stands back with a shaky smile on his face.]

Thank you, Miss Naeva. I-- I think you're really nice; you've helped me a lot. I'm glad we met.

[desirestruth]

I'm glad we met too. It is my pleasure to do what I can to bring a little joy to your life, Boober. There's no need to thank me for it.

[She does return that smile, soft and gentle--she's not usually prone to such expressions, but Boober really has activated the Mom Instinct in her.]

[He keeps his gaze down, embarrassed albeit not in an unhappy way. It's very touching, to hear that.]

...Well, I-I'll try not to get too focused on what bad things might have happened, with my team.

There we go. And if we find a pokemon center, you can use one of those...pad things to get back, can't you?

[Naeva is not entirely clear on how the warp pads actually work!]

So you'll be able to find them quickly.

No, I'm pretty sure those only travel to other Pokemon Centers nearby... [Besides, Boober has never used one so far, the warping strikes him as risky and just unnervingly impossible to explain.] But everything is weird right now. I keep ending up in the wrong place anyway.

[He breathes out a sigh.]

I don't think blindly traveling and hoping we end up in the city, or wherever else they may be, is the best idea, but... I'm not sure what else would be.
