I'm not sure. [Ryou peers inside, seeing that nothing looks broken in there. That's a good sign.]

I guess there's one way to find out.

[He steps in, pulling out his deck and placing a random monster card down on the table. And sure enough, Dark Necrofear appears on Ryou's side of the field.]

It works! [Banshee hops up onto the table surface and paws at the hologram while Ryou's turned his back to talk to Marik, wondering what it is.]

[Well, if it hasn't done anything weird to Ryou, it must be relatively safe. Marik follows him inside, leaning over to get a better look at the hologram. It's just a miniature version of the ones he's used to. Chenzira floats up to inspect it along with Banshee.

The blonde watches them for a moment then looks to Ryou.]

My deck is incomplete as I don't have the Winged Dragon anymore but... do you... want to Duel?

[Ryou turns and watches Banshee and Chenzira for a bit, only to turn around when Marik asks for a duel.]

Sure. I did update my deck since Battle City, so there's a few surprises in there.

[Collecting the Dark Necrofear card from the table (much to Banshee's disappointment), Ryou begins shuffling the deck in preperation.]

[Marik smiles albeit sheepishly. While it'll be exciting to actually duel someone other than Kaiba, if those casual duels have shown him anything it's...]

You're probably going to kick my butt.

[Especially if it's similar to what he saw the Spirit use. And no Winged Dragon to use his main gimmick makes things clunky for him. Still, it will be nice to actually play the game with no stakes. Just a fun, casual match.

Marik pulls out his deck and begins shuffling as he walks to the opposite side of the table.]

You're in luck, Chen. You'll get to see sort of how dueling was like for me back home. Kaiba takes this technology later on and makes it into a portable version you can wear on your arm.

[The Yamask looks from the table up to his trainer and nods excitedly. He isn't quite sure how you can make a little image pop up on your arm but it must be good!]

It's too bad there aren't any cards on the island. I'd love to be able to edit my deck.

[He holds his out to offer Ryou to cut it should he want to.]

[Ryou accepts the deck and cuts it, offering his own for Marik to cut in exchange.]

I don't know about that, anything could happen. It is a bit odd there's no cards left on the island though, this was Pegasus' island. He was the creator.

[Banshee, seeing that the table is being used, jumps off and into Ryou's lap, where she can watch over the edge of the table. Ryou briefly pats her, turning his focus to her to explain.]

Marik's right, Banshee. This is a bit outdated now, but this was the earliest version of solid vision tech for Duel Monsters.

[He does the same before handing it back to Ryou.]

Yeah. That's what I was thinking... Unless they're all in the castle itself.

[Marik sits down and places his deck off to the side. Chen floats over to sit on his trainer's shoulder as always.]

I wonder if the others came here as well. I... haven't had the nerve to ask Atem to Duel but... since that's the point of this island, it... could be fun.

[He looks over the table.]

... Does this thing have an automatic coin toss to decide who goes first? If not, you can go then.
