[Marik takes in all the sights. Even if it's a somewhat off version of the tower, it's still neat to see most of it in person. He makes a mental note to stop at the coffee shop before they leave because Goomy. Kaiba can probably see Marik actively fixating his gaze at them as they walk by.

Huh. He was wondering how the advertisements would work. He steps into the elevator with him and watches the Pancham, frowning. At least it'll give them some time to talk?]

I don't suppose you actually have any product here, do you? Like the Duel Disks?

[ Kaiba smiles as they pass the Goomy. Soon they will return for them. But for now...]

I should. We were working on the next upgrade to the system, with truly solid-looking graphics.

[ He leads the way down the lab corridor and reaches a testing room, now full of...are those Porygon? He shakes his head and brushes past them, picking up a sleek black Duel Disk. And there are more, so he scoops one up and hands it over. ]

All yours, then. A freebie this time.

[This is all probably more impressive when it's full of people. But... when they return home, neither of them will remember this so... best to make the most of what he's actually able to do. It's a depressing thought and Marik is quick to bury that away.

His eyes widen at the new Duel Disk and when Kaiba hands him one. He wasn't expecting the guy to just give him one... It's not like he can't afford it.]

A-Ah... Thanks...

[... His own legitimate Duel Disk. Not a stolen one. And one given to him by Kaiba. He delicately tucks it under his arm with the faintest of blushes. Hhhh what is having friends and them giving you things.]

... This place is impressive. Feels very... Kaiba, in a good way.

[He manages a slightly awkward but playful smirk.]

You got any other projects you've been working on that I can get an exclusive look of? Or is there something new about these Duel Disks besides upgraded graphics?

...I'm glad. When I rebuilt from weapons to games, I wanted to leave my mark on the world.

[ He looks around the monitors and nods. ]

We have a few video games based on Duel Monsters in development upstairs, but there's a Pancham running wild in the lab and making it difficult to get a good look. We can head there...but you might want to get a coffee with our gooey friends first.

[He heads back toward the elevator, leaving the button-pressing to Marik after he points out the floors---the lobby with Goomy, the game dev floor, his office, and the roof. ]

You definitely have.

[Marik gives Kaiba a look as soon as he suggests the Goomys, pressing the button for the lobby. Even Chen looks excited for it. If only they hadn't of kept Oba at home but it's too cold out for him to travel safely.]

Coffee and then your office. I'm not going to have many chances to visit where the great Seto Kaiba's comes up with all of his business.

...

But also Goomys in Kaiba Corp Tower. I need to take pictures for Oba.

[ Kaiba happily leads the way to the coffee stall. There's a Goomy on the desk, burbling happily. Another Goomy making goofy faces at the coffee pots. It....doesn't look like they successfully made very much, but they sure look happy. ]

King's learned Fire Punch. If he can control the heat in his arms, he might be able to keep him warm. Long enough to see the snow, at least.

[ But first he needs to...sort out this coffee situation. He sniffs at the black sludge, frowns...but there's still a clean pot where he can brew fresh. He starts that, watching as a few of the Goomy gather around him and burble some more. ]

King got into so much trouble when he was this small. I'm amazed they didn't topple all the pots.

[Oh. That looks... terrible. Why did he think a Goomy could make coffee.]

Hm? Oh. Yeah. That would be nice. I've shown him through the window but I know Oba wanted to see it in person... I'm sure he'll want me to make him a snow Goomy or snow Goodra. Or both.

[He picks up one of the Goomys from the floor, who happily coos in his arms.]

Maybe they tried really hard not to knock anything over?

[He looks through the cupboards for creamer and sugar.]

I'm surprised they even managed to get... something in that pot.

[ Kaiba smiles at the mental image. Yeah, he'll make a snow Goomy. That should be fun.

Meanwhile...he gently pats the Goomys' heads as he serves the (hopefully) now drinkable coffee. They burble happily, bobbing back and forth. ]

You'd be surprised how far determination can take them. When King was little, he'd charge headfirst at things much bigger than him...remember?

[Even if it isn't great, he'll drink it for the Goomys' sake. A noble goal, clearly. At least the cream and sugar help.]

Boy, do I. It's like those movies you see where the baby does everything in their power to get into trouble. Or just have a natural talent for it. I'm glad he's able to temper Oba now that he's older.

[The Goomy he's holding wants a sippy of fast bean juice. No sippy allowed. Marik sets it down on the counter and gives it a pat on the head.]

It's crazy to think it's been over half a year now, isn't it?

[ Kaiba smiles fondly at the Goomys and starts passing out berries. They can't have coffee, but they can have a treat for trying. They slobber on him appreciatively. ]

He's still the same silly partner he always was. But...I'm glad he had Oba to bond with too.

We've come so far in a few months, haven't we.

[Goomy slobber is good luck! Marik snickers.]

I know. He's a good big brother to him. I'm really glad... that you got me that egg.

[He looks over at all the Goomys then to Kaiba.]

Yeah, we have... You in particular. I know you'll be knocking on the door of the Elite Four in no time.

Maybe not no time. But..I think I might want to join the League just as much as I wanted to be King of Games. That would've been on my intellect and power alone...but as much as I love my dragons, my team are my partners on an entirely different level. I'm proud of them.

[ The Goomy burble happily, and he gives them each another fond headpat. ]

I just wish I could show this to our world. What these partnerships are really like.

It's a good thing to strive for - and you should be proud. They're an awesome team.

[Yes, all the headpats for all the Goomy. Goomy heaven. Gods, they're adorable.

Kaiba's last remark gives him pause and he tilts his head in thought.]

Mn. Yeah. It's not quite the same when they're holograms rather than living creatures.

[Marik recalls his conversation with Kisara about ka beasts. Kaiba's obviously aware of them if he vaguely remembers aspects of his past life.]

... But maybe Duel Monsters are more than just that. Obviously you programmed the Duel Disks a certain way but remember how the God Cards acted?
