4th Match // [video / action] Route 38 (November 1st)

[Today's video is focused on a Blaziken - the tall bird is reclining peacefully on the ground not too far from what seems to be a road, head propped on one hand-like claw, and very patiently tolerating a small yellow Charmander using it as a living climbing structure.

The Blaziken only moves when the Charmander starts to wobble, reaching out to steady it with its free claw.

The touching scene is sadly interrupted when the guy behind the camera speaks up, his voice a grumbling yet concerned growl:]

Torch dragons are orange. Is this one sick?

Your torch dragon was a yellow baby?

[Well, in that case, he's definitely not going to complain about that. Orange is his favorite color, but black and red are both totally okay colors too. They remind him of Zer0.]

Well, Cinder was, anyway. My first Charizard, not so much.

[Heh. Flare's still his favorite, of course, even if the shiny color choice is more his style.]

Believe me, the evolution took me by surprise. Two golden forms, and suddenly she's black and red?

[Said Charizard ducks her head, huffing as if to say stooop, you're embarrassing me!]

You've got two?

[Dang, son, that is a lot of dragons.

Speaking of, though, a little yellow Charmander has crawled its way into Krieg's lap, and is now peeking up into the 'Gear in Krieg's hands. Krieg helpfully tilts it downward so the little guy can see.]

Technically, I've got... geez, I think it's at four now? Two were inherited. Plus, Sora's got a Charizard, too.

[He smiles sheepishly, rubbing his neck. Yes, he has a lot of dragons. Yes, he may have a problem.]

But I'm one of those weirdos with over seventy Pokémon total, and it's as exhausting as it sounds.

[Seventy is not a small number, holy heck!]

Why so many?

[The baby Charmander's next move, now that he can see the screen, is to press his nose right up onto it. What the heck is this thing?]

I like having a variety of Pokémon to work with in battle, my older Pokémon got maxed out, and I needed something else to train.

[He shrugs.]

You spend as many years here as I have, and you gotta keep busy somehow.

[Krieg tilts his head to one side curiously as he thinks about that, though he may be difficult to see with the Charmander face still pressed up against the 'Gear.]

D'you fight a lot?

[That's both cute and amusing at the same time. He's trying so hard to keep a straight face, while the Charizard watches over his shoulder.]

Well, yeah. Gotta keep busy somehow, right? And battles are one of the main ways to do that.
