Well fellas, looks like we finally made it.

[The camera is fixed in on Jean's team:

(Pinch)(Sabre)(Chess)(Domino)(Max)(Finn)

All of them look a little battle worn, but not terribly worse for wear, and they're all beaming with pride in their own ways. Domino and Max are prancing and charging at each other, Chess is all puffed up in pleasure, and Finn keeps trying to get as close to Jean as possible for some very sharp Gyarados cuddles. Pinch is whetting his spears, and Sabre simply sits calmly nearby.]

We just beat Blue, so that wraps it up for Kanto. All 8 badges. [Jean shows his full badge case to the camera] I kinda took my time with it, but I'm still pleased with the results. They all did their best out there. I'm proud of them.

I'm gonna be taking the holidays off. 'May not even go back on the trail in Johto until the weather gets warmer again. Until then...

[Jean goes weirdly quiet. He looks uncomfortable, but doesn't put any words to the emotion. Finn butts her giant Gyarados head against him, and he absentmindedly strokes the crest on her brow.]
