EV News: Back to Normal...?
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
[Another news broadcast, again with Malva at the center! Despite the chaos and calamity of the last few days, she seems well groomed and relatively unfazed. She stands in front of a small gaggle of construction workers, who are roping off a massive hole with caution tape.]
This is Malva, reporting to you live from the scene. It seems as though a majority of these Orthworms have been dealt with, thanks to trainer efforts across both regions. Though a few stragglers remain, rest assured, emergency services are working hard to completely contain this threat so that citizens can rest easy tonight.
[The camera switches to a closer shot of the hole behind Malva. A few of the workers are directing traffic, urging people to move along and to not lean too far over the hole.]
The Orthworms have left giant holes in their wake, which means a massive rebuilding effort is taking place. Construction workers are working at all hours to restore damaged city buildings and pathways. But filling all these holes is going to take a considered effort, which is why the Elite Four have advised citizens to keep out of the holes until further notice. Keep children and Pokémon away, especially. The tunnels are structurally unstable and liable to collapse at any time.
[Right before the camera switches back to Malva, a blurry pink shape crosses the camera's view--too quick to be perceptible. Malva adjusts her glasses and tilts her head up a bit.]
If you believe your home or business is above a newly formed underground tunnel, contact your local gym leader and they'll arrange for a stability inspection. The sooner, the better. After all, you never know what might be living in the tunnels--
[A flock of pink, bird-like creatures suddenly burst into frame, squawking and braying. A few of them crash into Malva and the cameraman, resulting in even louder panicked noises. Malva lets out a yelp as the camera tilts off-balance. Her glasses have been knocked askew, and pink feathers are tangled in her hair.]
Ack--! Where did all these creatures come from?! Tim, the birds--
[The camera tries to zoom in on the mysterious creatures, but to no avail. Another loud squawk is heard as yet another flock of beasties charge into the camera. The lens statics and glitches before ceasing broadcast altogether. A cue-card is put up reading TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES! accompanied by some light elevator music.]
[OOC: Players have until the end of the month to turn in their Orthworm threads for rewards!]
