[While most people are still asleep, Lance is on the grind. Like, literally. He's standing in the bathroom of the Attack on Voltron house, clad in the Starmiebucks' uniform with the nice circular logo of a Starmie in the center of the apron, flashing a dazzlingly white smile at the camera even if it's just after dawn and most people are still asleep and the poor souls who are awake aren't even thinking about popping fingerguns at the network like he's actually doing right now, oh my god. His hair is laid and his face is moisturized to perfection, sunscreen and high quality lip balm and all. Someone's gotta make the Latias Lattes and it's gonna be him. Lance might as well look good while doing so.]

Hello, world! I'm Lance and this is my announcement that today, the best leg of Voltron, the right blue one, is gainfully employed at your local Starmiebucks. [He cups his ear, feigning deafness because he's also dramatic as well as being a moron.] Wait? What's that? What's Voltron? Oh, just a gigantic robot that's currently saving the entire universe back at home, one Galra at a time.

[Christ, who was idiot who hired this braggart fool? Fire them and him.]

Anyway, this week, we're running a half-priced special on your favorite Pokéccino and with every one purchased by a pretty face, you get a chance to win a date with me, Lance the Blue Pala-

[Enjoy that sudden high pitched shrill scream that can probably be heard for miles as the 'gear clatters to the floor and the sound of Lance scrambling along the floor is heard following it. All the camera catches is one blue tentacle slowly retreating back behind the shower curtain, leaving droplets of water in its wake.]

[He’s done for. No wiggle room. There’s no getting away from this. Even if for the life of him, he has no idea why he’s so embarrassed. Except maybe, this isn’t how he ever pictured this conversation going? In a bathroom at this hour.]

I’m embarrassed. It happens when someone calls you on your underwear. And... wakes up your partner.

[The first part kind of made sense? You know, sugar is sweet and Shiro's pretty caring, but the rest is just words shoved together in a hope that they'll fall into making sense. Sadly, hope is dead because Lance is still confused as all heck.]

Uh, right, sure. Whatever you say, big guy. [He's definitely never asking this guy any why questions ever again.] So he's okay with you calling him that?

Doesn't that count only if you're their boss?

[At least that's what Lance has assumed, but he is just seventeen so, does he get a break on not knowing the workplace customs in and out? Maybe. Maybe not.

Still worthy of getting hit upside the head by his boss.]

Yeah, but maybe I'll see her around. Elsa, you said her name was, right? What's yours?

Mnuhuhuhu...Yup! I don't think he even notices anymore!

[There had been some protest, some objection, at first. But that was ages ago. Like, over a year. Maybe almost two years. Krieg barely remembers it.]

You must be one of his space kiddos.

Heh, maybe we should get him a little brown hat for his birthday. And a mug. Gotta have the mug.

[Hey, something he can finally connect with someone over: memes! He likes Matt already, man.]

Shiro, it's just underwear. We all wear it, geez. It's not like the time I saw Keith in his swimming trunks. Now that was a horrible sight for my eyes. Nightmares for days.

[Yeah, that particular use of partner isn't slamming into any bells right now. This kid needs a clue by four. For all he knows, he's thinking space team partner.]

Well, I just got here so I don't have any of those Pokemon that probably could do whatever you're suggesting. I just have a cow.

[And all she's good for is making Lance her bitch.]

Besides, it's less about lighting and more other people are in this house. I didn't want to wake them up by being on the network.

[But that's okay because his screaming probably fixed that little sleeping problem.]

[Well, there's all a few years younger than Shiro. Lance can see how that guy made that jump.]

I guess so. I'm not really a kid, though.

[He'll be eighteen soon. A REAL MAN.]

Oh, man! That sounds like a fantastic idea. Hm. I wonder where you can get good mugs around here.

[Matt laughs brightly, a smirky grin crossing his face. For a moment, it's so very obvious that he's Pidge's brother with his excitement and grin.]

Keith's not that bad. I accidentally walked in on him once at the Garrison when he was about to get in the shower. Now the worst one is when I accidentally walked in on my dad once.

[Okay so Lance didn’t twig to it. That’s fine. That’s actually better than fine. It means nothing is weird and he can stop blushing and breathe. So he does. Sagging a little against Matt’s shoulder in the process. It’s too early for a crisis.]

So that means putting you on laundry duty gets no complaints?

I'm doing okay. I managed to make a bit more money on the way here. [Though she still feels a little bad about having to take trainers' money, and she'd feel even worse if Lance tried to give her any of his.] If you could put in a word for me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Yeah, but I bet none of those mugs are the right ones.

[It's this moment where Lance glances over at Matt and realizes how much he and Pidge look alike. Aside from the same general coloring, there's that particularly sharp grin of theirs that looks both excited and terrifying because anything can be behind it. He never seemed to notice it before, but to be honest, he hasn't had much time to be around Matt until maybe tonight.]

Keith's terrible. Actively terrible. Burn your eyes out bad.

[Yeah, he's gonna shittalk Keith here. What's he gonna do about it? Nothing, actually, because he still isn't giving Lance the time of day.]

Hey! I didn't say anything about doing laundry! I'm not touching other people's gross socks!

Space dad?

[To be honest, he's never heard anything so right regarding Shiro until now. Lane cracks up at how right this man is.]

Yeah, he is pretty cool. Super strong and does as much as he can for everybody. I have no complaints about him.

[Except when he cockblocks Lance's attempts to poorly hit on Allura. Not cool, Dad, not cool.]

[Somewhat without thinking, Matt slips an arm around Shiro comfortingly. He just shakes his head at Lance with a softer smile]

Yeah, you're probably right about the mug.

[Before he can say anything else, though, he yawns hugely. He's definitely more tired than he thought.]

You think socks are the worst dirty laundry? Huh. I think I'd be more dubious about people's underwear.

He is not terrible. Don't do that this early.

[Don't shittalk your teammates at this hour of the day, Lance. Wait until they have some coffee in them at least.]

[... the arm around him is. Well. It's relaxing. He just sort of leans into it, also without thinking. Like it's the most natural thing ever.]

Wait a minute. Something's off here. There's one thing about hugging your bros. Lance doesn't have a problem with that. But there's this scene in front of him, where a half naked Shiro is leaning up against a half naked Matt. It's different.

It's intimate.

It's throwing Lance for a loop.]

I'll do the dishes instead. [Said slowly because he's too distracted to properly protest. And then, curiosity deep in his voice:] What are you guys doing?

[People might get blinded by the light shining off Armin's pasty white chest. His arms and face may have built up a bit of a tan, but his vulnerable underbelly is still as white as before.]

That is what I said.

[He is manly, ok. He has leg hair (minimal), chest hair (a lie) and he can burp (but would immediately apologise for it). He is manly as heck.]

We live together. Are you at the house now? My bedroom is the one in the attic.

[There's really only one way to fix that and it's to live a life void of shirts. And maybe sunscreen.]

So you're not dating?

[He really needs this question answered. Not that he has any room to judge Shiro on dating a guy, it just seems weird that if they were couple it would be weird to have one half sleeping in the attic and the other downstairs.]

[Armin actually chokes at that one, his voice shooting up a few octaves. Now he sounds even more like a girl.]

I-- We-- What gave you that idea?

[Yeah, see? Anybody could make the same mistake Lance did with a voice like that!]

You said he rubbed sunscreen on your back. I never took Shiro as the type of guy to do that for just anyone.

[Like for real, he never put sunscreen on Lance's back. Not that they've been seeing the sun lately anyway.]

[And many already have.]

He only does it because I cannot reach it myself and he insists it is important.

[Also, Lance has actual melanin and won't turn Krabby red if he has been out in the sun for five minutes.]

Well, yeah, it kinda is if you don't want cancer or a sunburn.

[Not that he uses sunscreen all the time himself. Lance is living dangerously under that hot tropical sun back home.]
