Who: Everyone who wandered into the nightmare forest!

Where: Inside the nightmare forest!

When: October 22nd-29th

Summary: The culmination of weeks of worsening bad dreams comes when all that accumulated power is enough for the Pokemon to sprout an entire forest meant to trap people and harvest even more power. Now people from all over are lost in the woods...with very little distinction between what's real and what's not.

Whether by being drawn in or by simple curiosity (or poor decision making skills), people and their Pokemon have wandered in amongst the trees that have sprouted overnight. Only to find that once inside? There doesn't seem to be any way back out. No sunlight can pierce through the dense foliage overhead, but there is an eerie sort of green-tinted light with no source that gives people enough light to see by. The thickness of the woods varies--in some points it’s practically easy to move forward, and in others the trees are so close together that your character might have to squeeze between them. Phantump flit through the air and Drowzee can be seen occasionally running along the ground.

And in the background, a Trevenant and a Hypno watch. And wait.

Wait for these lost souls to finally drift off into sleep.

"I'm fine!" Vanitas snapped but he wasn't and it was clear from the almost desperate edge to his voice that he knew it. His emotions were more unstable than usually, especially since he was alone for..well..for the first time in awhile and it wasn't suiting him.

At all.

"I don't--I don't need help!" He manages to actually look at Joker again, eyes darting from him to his Pokemon then back again. "I don't..."

Oh but he did and Vani's Pokemon seemed to realize it as Scrapper's growling died down some, the Houndoom glancing back at him as Flood floated off her back to go over to their trainer.

Frankly, every single person in this god awful forest needs help, but the kid screaming and curled in on himself probably needs it more than most. Saying that obviously won't get him anywhere, however, so Joker keeps his mouth shut. Even if he didn't know people as he does, he knows that.

At least the Pokemon seem to understand the situation... Joker's eyes flick over them, taking in their worry, and he thinks carefully for a moment.

"If ya don't need help, then," he says, carefully, watching him, "then is it fine if I just sit a spell with ya? It's been a while since I've seen any other person."

That...hm.

"Whatever," Vanitas said in a rush, attempting to curl in on himself more but he was already curled up pretty tight. "I don't care what you do."

It wasn't a no so that was progress.

Flood looks over at Joker from her spot on Vanitas's shoulder, eyeing the man for a moment before she nods to Scrapper. The Houndoom immediately goes silently and trots over to her trainer and the other Pokemon, sitting so she can watch Joker and his crew...but she was at least a little less threatening now.

In a place like this, Joker has found you take what you get. So he'll accept that, especially as the Pokemon seem to allow it. No point in aggravating creatures that can set him on fire or electrocute him, et cetera, et cetera. With Coffee still following along him, he steps further into the clearing and slowly sits down.

Although, honestly, he kind of doesn't want to. Dreams.... haven't been nice ones lately.

"Any idea of how long you've been stuck here?" he asks, continuing to keep his voice calm and friendly. Either he'll distract him from his issues, or he'll get information out of him. Either is fine.
