WAKE ME UP (wake me up inside)
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
For a week, the ghostly forest has taken root across the land, pulling people in, and growing stronger and stronger, spreading wider as the Pokemon within gather more power from the nightmares of the victims.
But it has not gone unnoticed.
It may have taken some time, but other wild Pokemon have gathered together in force, hoping to save those humans and Pokemon trapped inside. Because this isn't right, and they know it--besides, the humans have helped them out before, and it's time to return the favor. Throughout the day, more and more Pokemon enter the forest from every avenue, anything from the littlest Caterpies eating away at the ghostly foliage and packs of Poochyena and Mightyena chasing after the Drowzee to other ghost-types, Gastlies and Shuppets and even a Gengar or two out to clear their names and make sure that their own playful season’s tricks don’t get overshadowed by all this. There are so many different kinds they can’t even be counted, but every one of them wants to help.
But the most prevalent, even seeming to be the ringleaders of this force, are the little pink floral-print forms of Munna, drifting through the trees in numbers that might well even match the Phantumps. It’s as though every single one has come out of the Ruins of Alph to be here. Several full-grown Musharna forge through the trees alongside them, the normally-pink Dream Mist pouring out of their heads in horrible, shifting colors as they draw the nightmares out of the forests’ victims like poison from a wound.
And the longer they’re in there? The more the forest shrinks back, the trees thinning and becoming almost transparent again. True moonlight begins to show through the canopy rather than the sickly greenish light of before. And the Drowzee and Phantump are retreating in the face of it all. They followed their two leaders with the promise of a feast like they’d never had before, but against all this? They’ve had their fill already, and they’re not about to stand their ground when the tide is turning so strongly against them. And with their support vanishing out from under them, the Hypno and Trevenant hardly have a choice but to make a break for it themselves, the rescuer Pokemon nipping at their metaphorical heels to drive them out faster.
Each and every human the Munna come across will be approached with soothing coos and with stubby pink trunks extended, ready to send them off into an honest, restful sleep filled with nothing but the best dreams they could have. It’s easy enough for those who don’t want the help to shoo them away, but they hardly look threatening.
By midnight, the forest is gone. The wild Pokemon are dispersing, their jobs done, although some may wind up deciding to stick around with a new friend. Anyone sent to sleep by the Munna will be left sound asleep wherever the forest leaves them—whether that’s where they first went in or somewhere entirely different is a matter of chance. Those in cities will receive swift help from the Jennies or other concerned citizens, or maybe even their own Pokemon, and even those out on the roads might get the assistance of other traveling trainers…or at least be supervised while they sleep by watchful wild Pokemon who’d been part of the effort.
Either way, they’ll finally, finally be able to get some true, good rest. After all that? They probably need it.
((OOC Notes: This concludes the Trick or Tree event! Characters who participated will be able to keep any of the prize items (detailed in the event info post) they found in the forest as prizes. As for the rescuing wild Pokemon, if someone would like their character to have befriended one, go by whatever Pokemon are available within the area they either came from or wind up in, up to a two star rarity level.
If anyone would like to use this post to thread out anything to do with the rescue, feel free! Also feel free to continue topleveling and threading in the forest log as long as you'd like.))
