[The pokegear shows a table, a torracat who doesn’t seem to understand yet that it has gotten a bit too big for this sleeping on the end of the table, paws and tail spilling over the edge. It’s not an accidental video though; it is focused on a chess board, a pale hand setting the pieces with the quick sort of ease that comes from having done this countless of times before.

Armin’s voice is quiet and a little thoughtful as he talks.]

It’s interesting to see how some things seem to be unique to certain worlds [like the titans of their own world] while other things seem to be known in almost all worlds. It makes me wonder what makes some things so common while others are so rare. I was surprised to find this in town, but it even has exactly the same rules as back home.

[It’s not visible on the camera, but Armin smiles as he adds:]

… The pieces look a little different, though.

[Rather than the standard pawns, rooks and knights, all of the chess pieces look like grass pokemon: little oddishes and bellsprouts for pawns, a pair of venusaurs for rooks on the black side stand across two meganiums on white’s side.

Armin sits, finally in view of the camera, his finger coming to rest on the white king (serperior), glancing at the camera as he addresses it.]

Would anyone be interested in a game? I know it’s not a pokemon battle, but it has been a while since I had a chance to play.

[The Sevii island shores sure are pretty, anybody would be glad to take a vacation there--do some exploring, see the previously unseen Pokemon it has to offer...

Jade is not focusing on that, though, when she turns on the video. It's the, um...misshapen but still suggestively shaped piece of chocolate in her hand.]

So, FYI--dating Dave Strider gets you stuff like this for V-day. Not the most romantic thing I have ever been presented with.

[And she displays her displeasure with this by biting the piece in half.

In the background, her backpack seems to be...wiggling? Like something's inside of it.]

Next time you all think of what to do for your SO for the holiday remember--do not be Dave Strider.

[...The bag is glowing. The bag has burst open abruptly--sending bits of molten chocolate out and...something...floating? Jade's not oblivious, of course, and shrieks at this new development.]

Sammy?!

[Who's S--]

Oh my god, Sammy! You ate them and became a truffle boy! ...You are so adorable, I don't know how to feel about the fact that you ate dick chocolates just now!

[Sammy seems fine, he looks pleased as punch really--where did the rest of the chocolate go now?]

[So one of the latest Team Rocket recruits is finally settling into things around here having done her best to lay low and learn about how this world works and now she's ready to throw a line out and see if anyone she knows is around.

But of course asking directly is lame so she'll make up an excuse to post a video and see if any of her stupid friends sees it.

The video itself features her Absol who appears to be having a starring contest with a mirror. Jinx Narrates. ]

Absol, The Disaster Pokemon.
It appears when it senses an impending natural disaster. As a result, it was mistaken as a doom bringer.

[Meanwhile her Absol is pressing his face into the mirror more and more trying to force the other Absol to look away. Inevitably the mirror falls over and would smash on the ground but you can see a slender hand catching it.]

Dooming himself maybe.

[She sets the mirror back and throws a chew shaped like an oversized doughtnut rice ball. He immediately attacks it. Meanwhile she turns the camera on herself setting it on the desk.]

Still if this place enjoys jokes he's a fitting Pokemon for me.

The name's Jinx and reading his information had me curious. How superstitious are you guys? Maybe other worlds have other things that are considered lucky or unlucky.

In my world things like breaking mirrors, black cats, spilling salt, the number 13? All considered unlucky.

Meanwhile four leaf clovers, horse shoes turned upwards, small coins found on the street or gross things like rabbits feet are considered good luck.

So what about you guys? Anyone out there chronically unlucky?
