This is probably going to sound really weird but I have a question about girls. I've never thought about it before back home since there were more important things going on, but|
[Gods, okay. Just relax - it's just a simple question, right? What could go wrong?]
What sort of things do they like? I mean, what do they find cute? I've thought about clothes but I don't know|
I don't know the sizes or anything so I was even thinking about a Pokemon but I think the ones that I'd find cute might scare or not be cute to some girls. I could probably take some ideas from TV or books or something too, though sometimes those can be a little
too dramatic

girls are a mystery
maybe a Meowth or a Skitty? does she like cats?
[This is Jean's go-to for people he cares about: get that bitch a cat.]
bless these two
[What is being bi and not knowing it?]
I'm not sure about a Meowth since I've heard that the can get kinda moody when they evolve. What are Skitty like?

1. Context clues!
Take what you know about a girl-- colors, the way she presents herself, her roster if you're out here, stuff like that --and apply them to your ideas. Does she have blue eyes? Look at rust and gold colors to bring them out! Does she wear her hair up? Clips! Ties! Cute little ornaments!
2. Communication!
This one's easy. Just talk. You don't have to be outright with anything to anyone. Drop some hints; give yourself some more time to read her.
3. COURAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even if something isn't the perfect or right thing, if the girl is worth your while, she won't shy away from it. She might even give you constructive criticism.
It's easier than it sounds. ☆

Okay. Okay, deep breath, and relax. Just... try to act natural, and like he's somebody else entirely. It should be fine, right? It has to be fine.]
You could ask anyone and they'd agree that I'm not the bravest person in the world, especially with this sort of thing. I|
don't know the first thing about what colors go with what, or what works better with hair. I've only ever seen her with part of her hair up so I'm... not sure what to do for that. I'm also worried that if I tried dropping hints or anything like that, I'd ruin the surprise of it all. I've never done any of this before either|
I wanted to get something before I saw her again, too.

Cos I mean, by that logic guys are typically known to be into sports, so anyone buying for a guy just needs to take a guess at what kind of sport they like. Or get a really MANLY Pokemon for em.
Everyone's different so it's just best to ask what sorta things your friend/girlfriend is into and go from there.
text, forever anon until he hecks up
And I mean uh
That'd work with me, honestly. I'm starting to like a couple sports more here. And I don't think anything could ever top a Machoke in terms of a MANLY type.

It's not any different simply because the gift recipient is a woman.

[Save for Reiner, but that's. Usually only when he's here, isn't it? Thanks, Pokegods.]
It'd also be different if this was just a friend-only situation. This is|
I want to get something to surprise her with before I meet up with her, but I've never done any of this before.

It could be flowers, or books.
Or maybe Pokemon items.
Or battling? Maybe you could ask her to battle you?

want to get her something and surprise her with it. I'd probably end up cracking under pressure if I asked her all of that.
What kind of flowers do girls usually like?

When all else fails though try for a gift that's useful while still being thoughtful. Practical but still cute in a way. Does this person like drawing or writing? You could get them a stationary set. Or maybe something to decorate their Pokegear with.
[Text]
I'm not sure about drawing or writing though. She... She can sing pretty good, but I don't know much about music to be honest.

Text;
They don't all share the same opinion, after all.
But I've given some gifts to girls I know and if she has long hair, hair clips are usually a good choice.
Most girls really like playing with their hair for some reason.
Also, I know you weren't sure about getting clothes because you don't know her size, but have you considered something like a scarf? Or even a hat?
Those are all the same size, so you wouldn't have to worry about getting something that is too big or too small.
And there are lots of designs out there.
As for pokemon -- personally, I always think that is a bit of a difficult gift.
After all, it is a lot of responsibility and it can be hard knowing what sort of pokemon someone likes unless they've already told you.
But have you thought about maybe giving her a stuffed version?
They have them of all pokemon species and some of them come with really cute messages.
Plus when it is small and soft, pretty much every pokemon species looks cute
and you could even get her one like your favourite species of pokemon so she could think of you when she sees it.
Text; anon 'til he hecks up
If it were any of the girls from home, I'd have no problem with it because I spent years with them. Even longer in the case of one of them, but even then I had a hard time telling what she'd really like.
[He likes to think that teddy bear was a good idea though! Even if he and Reiner did get Oyster Juice and those fly cakes in exchange. Seriously, what was she thinking?]
Her hair is around her shoulders, so I guess it's sort of long? But it's not really long like some people have it.
As far as scarves, is it really a good idea since it's starting to get warmer out? I'd hate to get something that she'd have to put into storage almost right away. I have to start doing that with the coat I bought myself recently since it's starting to get a little too hot even for me.
I'm not sure about the stuffed versions - If I did that, it'd have to be cute in both forms. And I'm not sure how common some of them are, like... I don't think I've seen any stuffed Staryu or Starmie.
[They seem like something an aquarium would sell, but he's not. Close to one right now.]

Most girls like pastel colors, like pink, or light blue, or lavender. You could always get them and accessory, like a hair ribbon or a bracelet that incorporates colors like that! Then you don't have to worry about the size being right.
Or you can get sweets! I've never met a girl that doesn't like sweets! I think strawberry is the safest flavor, but chocolate is popular too. And make sure it comes in a nice box! Presentation is everything!
As for Pokemon, first it has to be small enough to pick up and hold. Then it should be soft, so it's nice to hug! Try to figure out her favorite type and go in that direction!
Did that help at all?
text; anon 5ever on his end
You know she|
She actually likes purple. I've been hearing a lot about hair ties and stuff so maybe if I can find the right one... Gods, the only hard part about that is how many kinds they have. Back home they were all really simple, but here it's... I get lost whenever I look at things for Pokemon.
I'm not sure how she feels about strawberries but I know she likes lemon.
As far as her favorite types, I... actually don't know. She has some water ones, but then she's also got a ghost type and a little grass one. Should I just stick with water to be on the safe side?

Well first of all you need to calm down. Secondly, girls as a whole don't like things. They're all different and it depends on the person. Now is this a friend of yours you're asking for?

It's the same as choosing a gift for anyone in that regard. Pay attention to the things she chooses to eat and wear, the things that she gets excited about, if your intent is to give her a gift she'll like on its own merits.

Point being, if the girl you're interested prefers to dress in black and likes terrifying abominations from your nightmares... then cute won't cut it. Not that I think this is the case.
