[The recording starts with the sight of three men sitting behind a long desk, looking serious. The scene is clearly meant to evoke the feeling of a serious news broadcast, but frankly, the hastily stacked books and clutter in the background, several weird contraptions the purpose of which one can only guess at, and the ridiculous amount of notes and blurry pictures stuck to the desk kind of ruin the mood.

Those who have been here for a while will recognise the men sitting there, but for those new, they’ve actually gone through the trouble of having small, official-looking name-plates sitting in front of them. On the right, we have Legendary Seeker Jackson; Trent is your middlest seeker, and then on the left, we have the ever excitable Legendary seeker Grant.

Yes, the Legendary Seekers are back and they have important business to discuss. Let’s tune in, shall we?]

Friends. [That’s Jackson starting us off, looking poised and collected.] Today we come to you because we have important news, maybe even the most important news of our lives and--

YOU ALL SAW IT, RIGHT? THE SKY? [That’s Grant cutting in, slamming his hands down on the desk with such enthusiasm he knocks his little nameplate to the ground.] HASHTAG CONFIRMED, HASHTAG PROPHECY, HASHTAG LE--

Hey, I thought I was going to get to make the announcement, Grapes, come on.

[There is some minor bickering before throats are cleared, backs are straightened and Jackson continues on.]

As my esteemed colleague already hinted, several years ago, the three of us managed to obtain an ancient document via a very trustworthy source of ours on Hiker Craig’s list. Trent, the document!

[Legendary Seeker Trent stands, unfurling a long sheet of paper filled with squiggly writing. Well, you think it is writing. It is not like you can actually tell at this distance.

Though for a supposed ancient document, the paper looks, uh, pretty new.]

Of course, this is not the original copy of the document, merely a reproduction, but we have good reason to believe that this ancient text is a lost prophecy related to the reappearance of the Lost Water Temple [Jackson smacks the paper in excitement, nearly hitting Trent.] and it is happening THIS SUMMER!

[ The feed opens on a finely-decorated interior, the camera pointed at the floor where a certain Absol is staring back with groggy, bleary eyes. ]

Good afternoon, everyone.

[ The absol stretches with a yawn and ambles up to briefly examine the camera, which prompts a soft chuckle from his trainer before he registers what's going on and returns to snooze in his chosen spot. ]

My name is Byleth Eisner, and I'm new here. It was recommended that I learn how to use this, so here I am. I'd like to explore with you, if you don't mind.

[ There's just the briefest moment of pause before they stand up and start giving a tour of the house, showcasing the decor and pausing in a couple of spots to pick up stray items left about by the other residents. They don't say much until they get outside, focused on taking things in and building a mental map. When they emerge onto the patio, though... ]

Ah.

[ A bright blue bird sits in the middle of the back garden, staring at them with a vacant, wall-eyed stare. The calm before the storm. ]

Hello. [ Blink. Chirp. ] Are you supposed to be out here? [ Tiny wings flutter and adjust. ] Okay....

Well, this is the garden--

[ The definitely wild Cramorant lunges with a loud squawk as soon as Byleth takes another step. In a mess of flapping wings and furious crowing, the Pokegear is stolen and begins scurrying around the garden at bird-height. Byleth is giving chase, occasionally visible as the pokemon scurries in circles and tries to gulp down the machine. ]

[ this time, sandalphon willingly activates the video features. he needs answers, and he needs them now.

it’s clear from the start of the video that aside from the new starly perched on his head and the new backdrop of cherrygrove, he was clearly very, very distraught. it honestly looked like he hadn’t slept for the night, with disheveled hair and slight bags under his eyes. aside from the fact that he’s never really seen an aurora borealis, the stars in the sky were bringing back really, really bad memories. he’s at least thankful that the little bird pokémon was on his head in the first place— his presence made it a lot more easier to articulate his emotions without screaming his lungs out.

yeah, he’s not taking the entire thing very well. ]

Can someone please explain the phenomena in the sky?! Those seekers only made me even more confused and I can’t wrap my head around anything they said, aside from their Lost Temple or whatever nonsense they were spouting...

[ the starly chirps a couple times on his head, as if to say calm down, it’s nothing too serious. sandalphon only gives him an annoyed look before continuing. ]

Regardless, anything would be greatly appreciated, thank you. [ and the feed cuts off there. ]

Okay, sure, the lights are pretty cool, but I think we're all forgetting the real big deal today. Did you know July 13th is Miltank Appreciation Day? No one told me about it last year, so this time I knew we had to celebrate in style.

I kind of think we should change it to all cows though. There are so many awesome ones out there, they all deserve a day to celebrate.

[At this point the camera focus shifts from what is probably an uncomfortably close close-up of Steve's face to pan across the beach on Route 40. It's full of cows. Or... what Steve considers to be cows. Some of them are questionable to the outside observer.

Two Miltank are relaxing in the sand, content to soak in the rays. A third Miltank is alternating between chasing and being chased by a Tauros and a Bouffalant. A second Bouffalant seems to be tormenting a Camerupt who is notably far from the shore, trying to taunt her into getting closer to the spray. In the water itself is a West Sea Gastrodon, almost entirely obscured by the surf, and half of what can only be Wailord. It's hard to fit such a large Pokémon in frame, okay?]

Who's your favorite cow Pokémon? You should make sure you do something special so they know they're appreciated.
