I just checked the kids levels today and to my surprise, all that casual leveling has paid off! Pikachu's now 100 and I'm really excited for her.

So I'm going to probably get her something cute, any suggestions?

[Anyone in the vicinity this morning will find Anna near the front doors, her team assembled in front of her, giving them...a pep talk? Her little hands are balled into fists, and she looks...extremely flustered as she paces back and forth in front of them.]

Alright, guys! Some of you were with me last time. I know this is scary, going back in there, but...there's a few things that I think are gonna help this time, so we don't have to suffer another, um...embarrassing defeat.

So! We've got Cheeks and Ginger— [She indicates the Pachirisu and Houndour, respectively] —heading up the lineup. Falkner's Pokémon are weak especially to Electric-types, so Cheeks is going to be our vanguard this time. And then, if, if either of them goes down, I have the rest of you to work together to take down that dang Pidgeot of his!

[The six Pokémon in front of her each give a nervous-sounding salute.]

Great! So let's...let's do this!

[She glances around the area in front of the Gym a little nervously. It's going to be doubly embarrassing if she loses again after that whole spiel...but hopefully nobody was eavesdropping.]

[She giggles, and then shakes her head.]

I finally beat the first Gym! Suck on that, Falkner!!!

[A pause. Whoops. Chloe is really rubbing off on her.]

Aw crap, it's Valentine's Day this week, isn't it? Guess I gotta haul my ass to the store...

So how many of the roving, ever-fluctuating-in-numbers band of kids that's in and out of my house expects something? 'Cause I don't wanna deal with anybody whining that 'hey, Poppa Jack, how come you didn't send me some novelty candy and a stupid card but everybody else got one?!?!' or any of that bullshit. And there's too friggin many of you to just text you each or whatever.

[Also Jack has kind of lost track at this point, the core handful keeps absorbing more teenagers and bringing them home.]

And it should probably go without saying, but just in case...don't bug me on the holiday, I'm gonna be busy. I know there's a lot of sad, lonely sacks around but I ain't one of'em.

Oh, another thing, very important: I hate vanilla. Don't get me stuff that's vanilla flavored. It's the comatose old person of flavors, it's boring and pointless and smells vaguely medicinal. I thought I'd made this very clear a while ago, but I guess some folks missed the memo.

Anyway, let me know if you expect me to send you shit or you're not getting anything, 'cause I'm not doing holiday shopping twice. I'm a busy guy.
