[As Winston's second day at sea starts, he feels the distinct creeping anxiety of his mind preoccupying itself with worry over what could be happening back home in his absence.]

[Normally, he'd try reading to pass the time and keep his mind busy from those thoughts- but Mom only packed him two books, and he's already read through both of them cover-to-cover multiple times by now. ...he started to realize somewhere in the middle of his fifth re-read of the trainer's guide that he wasn't actually working to absorb the information. By that point, he was just glancing down at the turning pages to feel some amount of productivity as he's stuck waiting for the cruise ship to reach Kanto.]

[Setting the books back in his bag, Winston opens his Pokégear, thumbing through its features until he reaches a text posting option. ...it can't hurt to put something out there, right?]

Hi.

Current events outside of my control have left me temporarily unemployed, seeing as I'm now stuck in a different dimension from my former workplace.

I know- we've ALL been there before... /endsarcasm

While I'm sure my coworkers will be understanding of the situation and leave my spot open until I return... I don't see that reunion happening anytime soon. So in the meantime: if anyone could point me towards a job listing in the Kanto area, I would appreciate it a lot.

Many thanks.

[Hey pokemon world, there's a cardboard sign in front of the camera. It reads, Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained. You can also hear a lot of kids in the background. And the sign goes away to show...yup it's Dipper. He's standing inside what looks like a kids restaurant.]

Welcome to the first pokemon world edition of Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained. We're on, Anomaly number 13 "The Pizza Parlor." Now I know what you're thinking. Dipper, this is totally just a normal place, where kids come and play games, eat pizza and learn to fear animatronics, right?

[The Camera shows scenes of all three of these things, ending with a creepy looking animatronic Mienshao. It is dressed like a ninja and very purple. The camera goes back to Dipper and you can see the group of animatronic ninja pokemon in the background.]

Wrong! This is no ordinary pizza place. I found it on a map that I got at the end of the last summer for doing the scavenger hunt. So there's definitely something different about this place. Plus I've been hearing some rumours since I got here about strange things happenin-

[Whatever pokemon is holding the camera seems to make a noise and Dipper glances behind him. Have those animatronics moved? Probably not. He looks back.]

So we're going to investigate the place and see what we can find out!

[And we go to Dipper investigating the place, talking to people. And probably something you at home might note is that the animatronic Mienshao Ninja, now seems to be orange. And around. Like a lot. Like Dipper is starting to notice. He glances over at the camera as another person almost runs off, claiming that nothing is wrong here he just really needs to leave NOW. Totally nothing to do with animatronics! Also don't work the night shift here!]

Okay so there's something....huh, we might be getting lost, Moon. I think we've passed this one a few times.

[Dipper scratches his head and then turns around.]

Well so far there's the usual, the animatronics are creepy but that seems to be it. ...Maybe Nephelis just really liked pizza and-

[And as the camera looks away there's a zapping noise and a scream and then the camera drops to the ground. The gear is dropped and there's a sound of a fight before Dipper manages to grab the gear back up. He looks slightly singed. There's also very angry Gothitelle who had been holding the camera till now. And may have just attacked something.]

I knew it! It's....

[The camera is now pointed at a beat up, now purple again Mienshao ninja animatronic. With a smug looking Rotom floating above it.]

Really!? Well I guess that explains the weird rumours, since I got here! Faraday, really? This was-

[There's suddenly a voice in the background. Apparently someone heard the fight]

"Hey, what happened to Ninja Nickie! She's all beat up!"

Uh...and that concludes Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained. Tune in next time and maybe we won't be filming this from a jail cell... Run!

[Dipper will pull the Rotom in the pokeball and make a break for it with his other pokemon. So much for the first episode.]

--Oh, hey, it records!

[There's a pale, black-haired young woman on the network today, inspecting her new 'Gear. She has a little Noibat chilling in her mass of hair like an adorable bat-shaped barrette. She studies the Pokegear seriously for a moment or two before noticing something else:]

Oh snap, and it broadcasts! Sweet!

Hey! Barkeep guy! You were right, that Mom lady was really weird! She gave me a lot of snacks, though, so that's cool.

But, uh, I kind of. Already ate them all? Look, I got carried away, okay? Does anyone know if there's anything else to eat on, what is it, Route 29? Besides the berries, I mean. My girl here - [she gestures to her new Noibat pal] - really digs them buuuuuut I still think they seem kinda suspect. For me to eat, that is. Thanks, peeps!

[Hey, it's Newt again. She's sitting next to some books by an inn bed and if you look off to the side you can see one of those newer pokemon, the blue one, sitting next to an Eevee. The Eevee seems to have a plastic dolls head with them. There is also a Luxray sitting next to them as though keeping them safe from something.]

Hi. I have a question for people who went to school.

What are the really important things you learnt there? I only got to grade two before- ...I came here and there's no schools but I still want to learn stuff. I know reading and math are important. And there's spelling and science things but I don't really know what the other stuff is.

What's important to learn?

Uh hey, everyone.

[On the feed, Ray looks almost uncharacteristically worried, as he looks around his surroundings.]

So, uh, I was just going out to buy groceries in Olivine City today and the next thing I know, it's a few hours later and I've found myself in Saffron City with this-

[He turns over to reveal what is very clearly a hearse, while it doesn't have all the decoration the Ecto 1 has, but it is noticeably white compared to a normal hearse.

... It is also noticeably being possessed by a Rotom, who does not seem to mind this situation at all.]

~Zzzt ghosts don't scare me none!~

[Ray idly waves at the car before he continues.]

I must have built it myself because my hands are covered in the normal sores and stains I have after fixing up cars, but the memory of building one feels like a complete haze to me.

So I'm just going to cut to the chase- did I get possessed again? Because I'm going to be pretty miffed if it turns out that I got possessed without warning again.

[Did... he get possessed here in the first place...?]

[04/23, text: gloves are not the answer]

Good evening, all! I do hope this goes through - I'm surprised there's any manner of reception all the way out here - but I had a question that no one else seemed to be able to give a proper answer to.

My companion here really enjoys being out of her PokéBall. I wouldn't quite say that she fusses when she's inside, but she certainly seems to prefer being out in the open, especially in cooler hours such as this.

[Attached here is a picture of Harald's first Pokémon: a Goomy. She's smiling in the shade of a tree.]

However, her PokéDex entry states that a Goomy's mucus membrane is incredibly germ-laden, and so I don't believe it is particularly safe to touch or hold her, and if I'm going to keep her out while on my travels, I would need to do precisely that... She seems to want to be held, anyway.

I hate that I can't do this for her. Are there any suggestions on what I can do to let her be out and around?

[04/25, video: all birds can technically sing right]

[When the video starts, it might not be as obvious to most folks that it's being shot on Route 29, for the first thing one will see is the underside of a tree. For a few seconds, there's some extra adjusting and zooming before the lens focuses on a particular branch, upon which a Pikipek and Starly are perched.

Of course, just about anyone will have heard their respective tweets before ever seeing them clearly in the video.

The camera remains like this for several seconds, the birds occasionally overlapping into a harmonised song, before a voice speaks from out of frame.]

I think they've been following me.

[Harald chuckles softly.]

Of course, I don't know enough about these particular creatures to know if that sort of behaviour is common among them, but I've continued to see these two birds sitting in a nearby tree wherever I stop. I'm convinced it's always the same two. I haven't heard any singing together like this before, either; most others are with another of their species.

[The camera shifts drastically from here as Harald resets its level of zoom and sits up, turning it toward himself. Route 29's well-worn path can be seen in the distance.]

Is this sort of thing any typical behaviour?

Wingulls wheel and dive in the salty springtime air of Olivine City's harbor, as white as the gleaming sides of the ship moored directly below. The S.S. Aqua isn't an infrequent visitor in the slightest, but this time it's for a very special occasion! Colorful banners stream from the sides, each one proudly declaring the word PROM in glittery font.

The boarding starts around noon on Friday, and the sight of the huge ship alone is enough to get many people and Pokemon swept up in the party atmosphere. The captain is even there when the ramp is rolled out, wanting to welcome each otherworlder onto the boat personally with a hearty handshake and (mentioning he's a renowned 'people reader'), a recommendation on what part of the cruise he thinks they'll like best based solely on a glance. Weirdly enough, guests might find that he's usually right!

Unsurprisingly, it takes a good long while for everyone to get on board and accounted for, which leaves each guest with plenty of time to find their rooms, dump their luggage, let their Pokemon out to stretch their legs a little, and finally head back to the deck to wave goodbye to the harbor as the SS Aqua heads out onto the open water.

IT'S FINALLY HERE, THE BEST TIME OF YEAR!

[everett didn't you just post a thing like two weeks ago? shh this is important]

[Around 8 AM, a livestream gets posted to the network. There's some amount of fumbling as Egon tries to get the camera to stay still. When the PokéGear finally stabilizes, Egon takes a step back, adjusting his glasses and clearing his throat. Ray Stantz can be seen in the background with an excited expression on his face, as well as a Parasect resting on a nearby counter. A small chunk of the mushroom lip looks as if it has been cut off, though the Parasect doesn't seem to mind this.]

Good morning. I'm Dr. Egon Spengler, and I am here with Dr. Raymond Stantz and Amanita the Parasect to understand the affects of the mushrooms growing on a Parasect and/or Paras.

[He picks up a chunk of mushroom from behind the camera and holds it closely to the camera. The cap appears to be pink with dark yellow spots on it, while the gills appear to be a dark brown color.]

Now, as we know, this fungus enters an almost parasitic relationship with a Paras in its early life, and upon evolving, completely overtakes the host and acts as the "brain" of the entire creature. If the mushroom is removed from the Parasect, the creature ceases movement entirely. These mushrooms release poisonous spores, but these spores can be steeps and boiled to remove their toxicity and are used in some traditional medicines.

[He places the mushroom next to Amanita, who barely reacts. She simply continues to stare unblinkingly at the wall.]

Today, we are going to be observing what effects these mushrooms have upon human beings upon being ingested in their base forms. Our hopes is that these fungi may be able to mitigate physical pain. We will be recording this in order to further analyze whatever data we collect after the experiment has concluded. Ray and I will both be ingesting approximately 500 milligrams of fungi each.

[Egon picks up his piece of mushroom, and Ray does likewise. Ray grins, giving Egon a thumbs up.]

You ready, Egie?

Ready.

[They both eat the mushrooms and wait for the effects to settle in. The initial reactions are quite boring, with Egon droning on about fungi reproduction and how mushrooms have been used in medicine in his dimension and Ray playing with Amanita and occasionally interjecting his tidbits and facts into Egon's lecture.

About an hour later, however, things have...definitely changed up a little.]

While leaving my Dratini and Pyukumuku to socialize, I found that they had somehow laid eight eggs in my absence. Although initially perturbed by this, I decided to take this opportunity and offer these eggs to the general public. In addition to Pyukumuku and Dratini eggs, I am offering other Pokémon eggs, such as Solosis, Drifloon, Squirtle, and Inkay.

I forgot to mention that there may be a chance of either the Dratini or Pyukumuku to be shiny.

I will not be charging for these for now. You are free to request for as many or as few as you would like, within reasonable limits. If you have any questions, please ask.

[OOC Note: Grab your eggs at this OOC post! All eggs are free, please be nice and leave some for other people, too!]

[Oh look, it's Dandy, and he's making a post where he isn't dying from freezing temperatures this time around! In fact, it looks like he's in a cozy hotel room right now, the elements are no longer a problem. It seems like his collection of monsters has grown too, because those are definitely the familiar flowers of a comfey around his neck. More Pokémon need to double as accessories.]

What's shakin', it's Dandy, and guess who's open for business? As resident first class alien hunter, catching rare beasties just comes naturally to me. ...But normally I make, like...money off of it... So I figured, why the hell not, I'll start offering my services to those of you who wouldn't know how to catch a monster if your life depended on it. For a price.

And just to show you I'm serious, I already got something I'll think you'll like.

Check it.

[Dandy pans the feed over to the other end of the room where two of his Pokémon, a tiny deino and a massive skuntank, stand guard on both sides of an...upside down laundry basket. Or, well, guard is a generous word. It's more like the skuntank is just sitting there, staring into the feed with a great amount of concern and the deino is mischievously chomping at the air in front of whatever's under the basket.

The point is, there IS something in there, and it looks to be one of those new Pokémon crawling about. A Grookey for those who know their monsters, the little green monkey looks just as upset as any other, although with the added bonus of getting chomped at and being under a basket. Thankfully it's not in any REAL danger, even Dandy's smart enough to avoid community service. Ick.]

I already got some kinda monkey...thing, but I know these little bastards are hard to come by. Best offer can have it. As for any future services, just tell me what you want, and I'll go bag that bad boy for ya. Just as long as you pay in advance. Everybody wins, baby~

[And then...there's a pause.]

...Hey, so, speaking of, I kiiiiiiinda need help grabbing my own guy. It's got absolutely nothing to do with my skills, but I'm gonna need one of...hang on a sec... [Dandy starts rummaging behind himself before turning around and whipping out a magazine clipping. He holds it up for the feed, a colorful photo of someone surfing on their mantine while people watch excitedly from the sandy beach. There's a speech bubble scribbled in marker above a woman's head that reads I LOVE DANDY, but he tosses the page so fast you might miss it if you blink.] HA! This...blue...uh, flappy thing. Can't catch the water ones if I don't have one myself, right? And I need this one, for...personal reasons. I don't really, like, look for certain ones for myself, so you KNOW it's for a good cause.

The Dandy wants it cause.

Hey guys! I've been spending a little time lately looking for pieces of media that's similar to media in my home dimension, and look at this!

[He picks up a "Dungeons and Dragonites" rule book in excitement.]

I used to play this all the time! Well, not this version, but it looks pretty similar to Ghosts and Gargoyles! I would spend hours crafting backstories for my new characters, and spend even more hours going on adventures with my friends in these.

[He flips through the book and it takes him a good moment to remember that he's on video.]

Oh right! My point is that I wanna try this out! I'm sure that there's others in this dimension who'd like to try this out, but I'd be happy to teach you the basics if you're new to this. Plus with these video chat features, we don't have to worry about being in person in order to hold a session!

Contact me if you're interested! I'm just dying to see the differences in this game firsthand!

[Gaige has, for the past week or so, been setting out on a trip to the Ruins of Alph without much in the way of broadcasting, but certain circumstances had brought her to needing the advice of the people, and so a video transmission pops up on the network.]

OKAY, hi - hi guys, it's me, your gal Gaige, etcetera, etcetera-

[She rushes through her usual routine to a shaky camera, and a loud crying in the background.]

So, you know those new Pokemon that started showing up? The ones terrified of, like, everything...? Turns out loud noises and explosions and basically EVERYTHING that makes me me comes under that.

[The camera shifts slightly as she tries to balance her 'Gear and something blue, amphibious, and crying in her arm. From what can be seen from Gaige's face, she looks tired, and trying really hard not to panic.]

It's been...uh, I don't even know - it feels like hours since he started crying? I can't get him to stop. [A weighted exhale, and the sobbing newt in her arms just accentuates her point.] I really want him to stop. I just, you know, babies aren't really my ball park? Kind of never really planned this kind of thing. I only ever anticipated robot children! I'm way too young to be a mother!

[Her voice raises in distress, which only makes the baby more upset. It's a vicious cycle.]

Look, some of you guys have got to have experience with this kind of thing, right? You gotta help me out here.

Now that's a pretty good haul, if I do say so myself.

[Hey everyone, remember that weird kid complaining about not being a bird anymore? Seems like she's mellowed out a bit and decided to use the video feature this time around, though instead of a video of herself, the gear is instead turned towards a trio of pokemon, near what seems to be the shore of the lake surrounding the Sprout Tower in Violet City, close to the Pokemon Center.

The first is a Skrelp, who seems to be enjoying showing off for the camera; zipping from side to side in the shallows of the lake, puffing out its chest and shooting out small bursts of Water Gun like... well. A water gun. The second is a Ralts, standing a bit away from the shore. If it had fingers it would clearly be wringing its little hands with the way it seems to be fretting frowning and reaching out towards the third pokemon in this little group; a Trapinch, which seems to be chewing happily on... a Bellsprout?? No, not a real Bellsprout... it looks like one of those tacky tourist souvenirs, the kind that will wiggle around like they were dancing if you leave them in the sun or play music close to them. This poor little dancing Bellsprout seems to be the former, if the way the toy still pathetically wiggling in the Trapinch's jaws is anything to go by.

It's an interesting trio, and if the way Lena is giggling behind the camera is anything to go by, she's pretty happy with them.]

I gotta say, though... those ruins outside of Violet City were kind of a bust, aren't they? I mean, alphabet soup monsters? Nnnnnot really my idea of spooky ruin-dwellers. I've heard of way worse.

[Webby talked her ear off about Toth-ra, and there was all that stuff she put her to sleep with in regards to Scrooge's adventures, so when she and Demyx decided to take a day trip into the ruins, she was expecting... well. Something like that. Like, actual monster-looking things.]

So are ruins like this a thing here? They kinda seem... I dunno. Out of place.
